We found the food excellent, prices reasonable, and the service good (although with two waiters and more than 16 tables, it can be a bit leisurely--but that is the way the French eat dinner anyway). My wife started with escargot, which were large and served with excellent garlic butter (just the right amount of garlic for us) and baguette. I started with the asparagus - cooked but served cold and just a bit crunchy, with mounds of shaved Parmesan and a few sun-dried tomatoes, drizzled with a balsamic reduction. Both were wonderful. We both had the lamb shank, and were impressed. The lamb was cooked to perfect tenderness, and the red wine reduction had layers of flavor that we both enjoyed. Add to that beautiful side dishes (each main course comes with one side) of mesclun salad or crudités (but shaved in a salad, not whole as we expected) and an eminently drinkable house wine (Cuvée Balthazar) at €17 for a 750 ml bottle, and a beautiful warm evening, and the night was completely enjoyable. The salmon was pretty fresh and a good pairing with the bread. For the main courses, we ordered the duck breast, truffle ravioli, and cod fillet. Service was quite fast, especially considering that the restaurant was almost full by the time we had finished our appetizer. The duck breast was very tender, and the chief sauce used was delicious! The truffle ravioli had delicious Parmesan sauce. I do wish there was a stronger hint of truffle in the sauce, but the dish was still good, as the pasta was al dente and chewy. The cod fillet had a fragrant saffron white butter sauce which complemented the tender fish well. I also really liked that it came with side vegetables, definitely a healthier dish! We ended with the cheesecake, which was smooth and creamy, with tangy raspberry sauce drizzled over. Delicious food, bustling atmosphere, and quick service! L'Agape offered 2 choices each for Appetizers, Mains and Dessert. Each dish was exquisitely prepared. I had a Mackerel appetizer, a Hake main and Meringue dessert. The Cheese course (also a Dessert choice) was worth the additional 8 Euros. The locally produced red wine we enjoyed was on par with $100 USD bottles - we were charged 37 Euros.
