If you are in the area, maybe touring Calvados estates, this is is a place worth putting on your to go to list. Even Queen Elizabeth dined here at sometime in the past, as we saw from the letter framed on the wall. It now is listed in the Michelin guide but without a star, but if this chef keeps up the good work, I can't imagine how it won't be winning one soon. For €75, this was one of the best lunches I've had in France. You get 2 to 3 choices for appetizer, main course, and dessert, and there are a couple of extras added in. For appetizer had a crab salad we then moved on to eggplant roulade served with a little eggplant and potato fritter, and a delicious jus. Finally finished dessert with a banana type. Moose covered in meringue. Scales served with a kiwi sauce and a pineapple ice cream. The apple soufflé was also fantastic. Service is impeccable and kind, and after the meal the chef came out to talk with us. I was sorry I don't know more French and was unable to really converse with him, but my sister-in-law fortunately, was able to. Very kind and unpretentious. Unlike in the US, service is completely relaxed and unrushed, and you have to learn to enjoy the 2 to 3 hours things are paced out to.

quite possibly the best 45euro I have ever spent…read more you can take the a la carte, and pay a little more, but if you stick to the more than adequate options on the prix fixe list, you get 6-8 choices per course; amuse bouche, starter, fish course, main, dessert, coffee, petits four... don't like fish? noproblem, order two main courses, and vice versa. this restaurant really were superb. attentive, helpful, amazing food, fabulous value... situated in le breuil en auge, a picturesque region in normandy, it really is worth the drive out there- opens for lunch and dinner.
