Please do not consider this home for your loved ones…read more My brother lived here for about eight months. He was not in the best of health when me moved in, obviously, but I noticed a huge decline during his time there. First, I noticed some cognitive decline and asked for months for them to get him into a neurologist for testing. They kept saying "we've asked the doctor for a referral and are just waiting on an appointment". Had that appointment happened, his cancer would have been found seven months sooner, and his quality of life would have been so much better. They called me at one point to say he passed out. They said he "refused transfer to the hospital". For the next week, I kept asking for a Neurologist; he clearly had some event that needed to be checked out. They eventually admitted he was given the wrong medication and passed out. They said it was a sedative, but I have no idea. When I was there, it was common for his room to reek so terribly of urine, I couldn't stay in the room. His refrigerator was moldy, they called one day to say they were going to replace his water bottle - it was moldy. The only thing ever in that bottle was water, they let it sit for so long that it was unusable. I brought cleaning supplies to clean the room myself. The room are the size of a small dorm room, yet I had to rinse the mop out every few feet. I must have rinsed it ten or twelve times and the rinse water was absolutely black every time. At one point, he was in the hospital for over a week; I went by to grab a few things and there was STILL FECAL MATTER ON HIS SHEETS. His bed was made, but the poopy sheets were still on it. Who does that??? When I left the room, I noticed a gentleman sleeping on the patio with a lit cigarette in his hand. I received a call one evening to say he had fallen. They were supposed to look in on him every two hours. I was told the staff member had seen him 45 minutes before, then when they went to give him his medication, he had fallen on the floor. The reality is that another resident's dog found him. When the resident tried to get their dog, they saw him on the floor and called for a staff member. At the hospital, I noticed his toe nails were so long that they actually curled under his toes. I understand they may not trim them, but let me know, and I'll take care of it for him. On top of everything, he had items stolen. He liked to keep $40 in his wallet so he didn't feel like he had no money, twice it was taken. Our mother's watch was also stolen; it wasn't worth anything, but it was the only thing he had of hers. Many of the staff really have their hearts in the right place. But Evergreen is so short-staffed that they can't do their job. Additionally, they've recently brought in a new director who seems incredibly inexperienced and absolutely awful at her job. When we finally removed his belongings from his room, we had to wear masks; it smelled so bad. At that point, he had not been there for over two weeks, and it still had not been cleaned. There's so much more I could write. Bringing him chili dogs when he returned from his chemo treatments, the filth of the place in general, and the "you know how the sister is" comments (yes, I loved my brother and was an advocate for him, THAT'S how a sister should be!) Please, please, please, do not bring your loved ones here. It's an awful place. The people running it don't care about your family or friend; they aren't there to serve them. I can not imagine how his care would have been had I not been there every day. Note: I tried to post a photo to Tanya, the Director with her TicTok photo. Yelp wouldn't allow me because it went against it's guidelines for nudity.

NOTE: I worked Exclusively with April Godales…read more To begin with, I looked for someone to help in dealing with my mom for months. Had hideous luck. Some made things sound too easy, brought New Age Ethics into a Alzheimers Dementia situation that really wasn't apropos, and there were others who were more interested in me having Power Of Atty or an updated Advanced Health Care Directive. I met with people that before they came to the house admitted they were at best semi-competent. I am an Only Child, have no family, friends or neighbors who can help in a hands on way. Before April, I was completely adrift. April Godales and my family always worked on a handshake deal. She visited the family home. The Nursing Facility my mom was at after her fall had given her multiple fractures, and even was there 12 hours before my mom got to the Assisted Living to make sure the bed arrived properly. IT wasn't only April that told me ins and outs of my mom's Medicare and Insurance situation, it was April who guided me through where to get my mom decent Furnishings. To wit, my mom began in a Respite Stay situation and when I realized my mom should simply be a Long-Term Resident with 6 days to get everything within the unit. April didn't blink an eye. She was around on weekends and available until 10pm most nights. April Godales is a A Level Sherpa. I honestly don't know where I--and much more importantly my Mother--would be without her. But here's the thing: I still had a physical and mental breakdown the day after my mom got to her destination and was safe & happy watching her favorite channels on her new Color TV. April was an unparalleled guide. But it has to be a family member making all the toughest decisions. The thing that was great about her was she laid everything out in an understandable way, and left the client to formulate the best decision for the elderly loved one. April knows this. The Case Managers and Insurance Specialists at facilities know this. But I am not sure that all the people who will contact Assisted Living Locators fully grasp where her job ends, and family's responsibilities now begin. She does a world class job as a professional. But the weight still has to fall upon family shoulders. You have to do your own heavy lifting for the family member you love. You cannot phone it in. That said, I looked for months and April & Assisted Living Locators were the only team at all worth their salt when the chips were down and the walls were closing in all around around me.

I'm currently a patient at Providence St. Joseph's in Burbank, and I want to share how truly…read moregrateful I am for the care I've received. From the moment I arrived, every nurse I encountered has been an absolute sweetheart--attentive, compassionate, and genuinely caring. They never let me fall asleep feeling worried, and they consistently made me feel safe and supported. I came into the ER on Tuesday night with my children, and the staff helped me immediately. What started as a normal day ended with me being admitted and scheduled for surgery. I'm here alone, and while my kids are thankfully with family, being in the hospital on a holiday by yourself is a heavy feeling. You want to be home, but you also don't want to take anyone else away from their plans. The reality of my surgery hit me hard. Wanting a tiny bit of comfort, I called the kitchen right as they were closing just to ask--if possible--for some ice cream. Nothing specific, just something small to lift my mood. I got the voicemail and left a simple message, saying I understood if it wasn't doable and wishing them a happy holiday. About 20-30 minutes later, there was a knock at my door. Even though the kitchen was closed, a staff member brought me a cup of ice cream--and surprised me with the sweetest little strawberry cake topped with whipped cream. That act of kindness meant so much to me. It's those small, thoughtful moments that remind you how good people can be. To the nurses and the staff member who went out of their way to brighten my night: thank you. I truly appreciate you.

My review is specifically for the ER department…read more I truly try to be understanding because I know hospitals are understaffed, overwhelmed, and the staff deals with difficult situations every day. I've always remained polite and patient during my visits. But after multiple experiences here, I honestly feel like something needs to be said. Every single time I've come to this ER, the wait has been excessive -- usually 7+ hours just to be seen or placed in a room, followed by several more hours waiting for updates or care once inside. I understand emergencies happen and patients are prioritized by severity, but the overall experience feels extremely disorganized and lacking compassion. The waiting room is consistently dirty and overcrowded, with visibly sick people sitting for hours without updates. What bothered me most, though, was the attitude from some of the staff at the front desk. Patients and family members asking simple questions are often spoken to like they're inconveniencing the staff just for needing help or clarification. During my most recent visit, I spent nearly 10 hours there before eventually deciding to decline admission and go home. I was placed in a room without a pillow or blanket and asked three separate times for a blanket, but was ignored each time. No one expects perfection, especially in a busy ER. But basic compassion, communication, and respect should still exist. People come to the emergency room scared, sick, in pain, and vulnerable. The way patients are treated matters just as much as the medical care itself. I genuinely hope this department improves, because no patient should leave feeling dismissed, ignored, or like they were a burden for simply needing medical help.
