I came here because I not only heard it was vegan (was hunting down for vegetarian options as it is…read morein Barcelona), but I wanted to try a veggie version of the paella. This place marked the spot. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. I preferred an indoor seat this evening because of the heat. First, the paella comes in a hearty serving. Definitely will fill you up. I arrived around 7ish for perspective and they made this to order. The paella was made wonderfully. Me personally, it seems a bit too rice heavy and not enough seasoning for my preference, but that is more an indictment on paella and not this place. They did have plenty of other options so I'm sure people are satisfied regardless.

Very filling, and such good vegetables. The fish/meat substitute was super good. Really well done. Reasonably priced for LA standards. Not sure what standard BCN pricing is but my entree was ~15 euro. Had a small amount of leftovers. Ambiance was great, too. And staff able to speak English if you have any questions. Great allergen labeling. All around stellar spot. PS my walking tour guide said Born is much cooler and less touristy than the Gothic District- if that helps you choose which location. And the church across the plaza is free after 6 pm so pop in and look for the FC Barcelona window.

They're dog friendly and you'll often find pups in the mix indoors or out (I bring my regularly). The food is mostly good. I'd skip the pasta, but the mexican burger (black beans) and the bravas (with harissa and using sweet potato) are great. The croquettas are also always awesome and they are seasonal, made in house and often have things like swiss chard or truffles. The brownie with ice cream is decent if you're missing a real brownie from the states, as most of them in BCN are not really brownies but more like bland chocolate cake. This one is legit, however. Hummus is also nice, as are the mojopicon olives for snacks. THose are the highlights. Beer selection is always pretty good, there are actually 10 taps, but two are low pressure something or other. They have organic lemonade and some other non alcoholic drinks as well; someone else said the wines aren't great and that's true, it's not really a wine spot.

The bartender suggested one of their house beers, the Brutal, which I'd also recommend. I went shortly after it opened (1pm) and the place was pretty quiet.

We were expecting better, since the place is gorgeously designed, but we left unhappy. Apps: wasabi croquettes and eggplant with pomegranates were interesting to try. I wouldn't call them delicious, but they were unique dishes. Entrees: I got the pumpkin pizza and husband got the fish dish. His was insultingly small for the price. Mine was mainly bread with a bit of pumpkin thrown on. I don't know, it could have been better. It felt like a slap in the face that these were our entrees. Drinks: I got one of their juices, which I learned later on that it was not pasteurized. My husband said his cocktail (the beet one) was too sweet and just tasted like eating a beet. Service started out okay but then disappeared. Overall, did not leave us with a good impression. That's the last time I give a vegan-loved restaurant a shot...

We looked up healthy restaurants and this came up and we took a taxi from Sagrada Familia to eat here. It was DELICIOUS! We shared a chickpea burger, a salad, and the gyoza--all fresh and super-delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Restored our attitude and faith that good healthy food could be found in Spain!

I ordered a…read morehamburger, but I was slightly confused when the burger came without a bun, just a patty and a quinoa salad (attached picture). Nevertheless, it was a nice surprise because the burger was tasty and had a nice beet paste on top.The saltiness of the patty contrasted nicely with the sweetness of the beet, and the quinoa salad was fresh, chilled, and well seasoned. The salad had pieces of tomato added in, but I was not a fan. The tomatoes were not well picked, quite unripe, tasteless, and crunchy. The "burger" was accompanied by a cup of white wine, but it was just regular, cheap wine. Nothing too special there. Nevertheless, I did still leave the place feeling quite a bit hungry. I would have liked the burger to at least have a lettuce wrap or some sort of accompanying "bun" to give the name "hamburger" some justice. I would not have ordered the burger if I knew this, but it did not say anything about it on the menu. The price for the meal was 6.75 and, while it was not bad, I do not think it was worth it, unfortunately. I can get better food for that price at other places in the area.
