It was an awful day in terms of the weather, cold and damp and we needed to reenergize. Several of us went in to get a snack and to use the loo. We were seated and given menus. Most of us got coffee and a sweet to eat. We were not going to be guests here and after our snack, we had to get going on the next leg of the tour. The cake, hot chocolate and coffee were good and gave us the much needed energy to continue on. It was a pleasant break, the waitress accommodating [despite the fact we did not speak French and she did not speak English] and I would encourage you to try it if you are in Honfleur.

I am not going to dwell on this any further, just be prepared and understand these constraints. This also needs to be clearly explained when travelling with very discerning children who are used to more modern amenities. Unfortunately, we didn't sample the evening food, but other residents we met were complimentary, with the caveat that the prices were top end. However, breakfast was varied. Cold meats, and as you would expect, very continental. Facility to cook your own boiled egg. A machine in the bar area to get freshly squeezed orange juice. I cannot remember the price for the breakfast as the booking was done by friends, I would guess in the region of 15 Euros. We enjoyed the use of secure parking, but away from the hotel. It did require two of us to put in the code whilst the other drove the car into the area before the gates closed. We had two cars in the party. The staff were extremely pleasant. The thing I encountered generally on my travels in Spanish and French hotels was getting the use of an iron and ironing board. I requested one here, and they had difficulty in providing one to our room, but they offered to iron the clothes. Which to my mind was even better, and at no extra cost. We would stay here again. It is set close to the town and harbour restaurants. Nous avons apprécié l'utilisation du parking sécurisé, mais loin de l'hôtel. Il a besoin de deux d'entre nous de mettre dans le code tandis que l'autre conduisait la voiture dans la zone devant les portes fermées. Nous avions deux voitures dans le parti. Le personnel était extrêmement agréable. La chose que je rencontrais généralement sur mes voyages dans des hôtels espagnols et français devenait l'utilisation d'un fer et une planche à repasser. Je demande un ici, et ils ont eu des difficultés à fournir un à notre chambre, mais ils nous ont proposé de repasser les vêtements. Qui à mon esprit était encore mieux, et sans frais supplémentaires. This hotel is a fifteen minute walk from the Deauville-Trouville train station...we had to walk as…read moreno taxis or Uber's were available when we arrived. The hotel is beautiful from the outside with a nice little garden area with benches just in front of it. The lobby has nice sofas and tables and there is a bar on one side with the restaurant behind it. We were charged 30-something euros per night for buffet breakfast for me as my husband was part of a conference. I tried to opt out of it as I would have preferred to try the small cafes outside but I could not. The back entrance has some outdoor bistro tables and chairs and across the road are tennis courts. Along the back road is the convention centre, Olympic pool and Deauville beach. Right beside the hotel is the Deauville Casino and tons of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The room we had was a smaller one with king bed. A door separates the bedroom from the entrance and closet. The washroom has its own door from the entrance area and the toilet area has its own door.....allows for quiet sleep for one person as the other is getting ready. There was no iron in the room....we had to request it and the cleaning staff would try to remove it daily but I told them to leave it for our entire stay. There is a safe and coffee maker and a small closet. They replenished toiletries daily and I requested our towels to not be changed (by hanging them up) in order to be "green" but it looked like new towels daily. The disposable coffee cups and lids, and daily plastic water bottles negated any "green" initiative. I did like that common washrooms on the main level lit up with movement and were not left on at all times. There is a tiny elevator but stairs are close by. The gym is small and limited and the pool is decent (small) with loungers and sofas. The pool was not busy during our stay. The concierge was not too helpful when I asked for info on tours. They said they had none and we could hire a car for 100 euros per hour and hire a guide for 500 euros for the day The walk over to Trouville took me about an hour to get to the beach...at a strolling pace. We used our rental car to go to Juno beach. The buffet restaurant in the hotel was large, extensive and good quality. Plenty of pastries but I would have liked more fruit.

My wife and I have stayed here several times over the years. It's a great small place that's…read morewalking distance to the ancient harbor and several wonderful restaurants. It is a converted old house that is impeccably kept. The place sits up above the city a bit so you have some interesting views of the old village. The breakfast that is made just for you in the morning is perfect to get your day started. You can decide between several rooms to sit, one with a fireplace if you choose. The woman that runs the place is super nice and accommodating. If you are only English speaking, no problem also. I highly recommend trying this place, you can use it as a launching place for your Normandy D-day beach tour trek.

This is a beautiful place in a lovely, historical village. My room was impressive with a private…read moreterrace. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The shower had a rain head. The bathroom had stained glass. Breakfast isn't served until 8:30-how civilized. And Florence, who greeted me at 12:30 am, has a beautiful French-accented English. Not far from a 5 star... I have been at the restaurant many…read moretimes, and every time I had a culinary blast... Indeed the restaurant deserves a 5 star, all the way. I have stayed in the hotel once, and this is what makes me remove one star, however it is still a great place to stay at. The bathroom made me have second thoughts, but lets face it, I would go back over and over... Ideally go there with you're love one or to become, because the romanticism of the place will sweep you off your feet and imprint a romantic tattoo to your spirit... If you think all French people are rude, then do not go there because you will think you have left the country!!! The staff is exceptionally trained, kind and bends over many time to insure you have a flawless experience... I just wish we could put half stars, and even three quarters of one, that is how close they are from it...

Service was very pleasant and very helpful, both with information and also with physically accompanying you to your room. Each room is a separate room in one of the buildings, of which there are many. The rooms are very comfortable, with modern air conditioning, espresso, and both large bedrooms and bathrooms. The only knock i would have, at least for our particular room, was how tiny the water closet was. The toilet was tucked away in its own room, which is great, but this particular room's toilet was basically crammed in there, to the point where there was literally no extra room between the toilet and the door. Very uncomfortable. But, that's only one of the rooms, and i assume they're not all like that. Our room was the common two-twins-pushed-together, which is common in Europe, but you wouldn't have known it by how comfortable the bed was. Didn't notice at all it was two beds. Very happy with the room. Dinner that night was at the hotel's restaurant, which was another fabulous meal. Lots of fantastic dishes, including a perfectly cooked steak. And, because our walk back to the room was so short, we decided to go for it with the alcohol, which was very good as well. Opted for the additional course of a poached egg, which was a common treat in France, having an egg course. Dinner also consisted of fish and beef, a cheese course, and a dessert course featuring a very unique layered dessert with ice cream. Everything was great! They do offer breakfast, though it's certainly not the cheapest, but it's a very good spread, with lots of fresh everything. But, we wanted to get an early start, so we decided to just pay and head out. Even though we didn't stay for breakfast, they let me pull a fresh espresso, which was very nice of them. Overall, this was a very comfortable hotel, just outside the very cute town of Honfleur. The food was good, as was the location. If you find yourself looking for a hotel in this part of France, give this place a look.

My 2 children and I shared a queen size bed and I would not recommend this but the hotel itself was beautiful and picturesque. I would have loved being here with my husband for a long weekend. Its absolutely charming and the staff is very friendly. Not many people in this region speak a lick of English or at least they didn't let on that they do:) We tried our best to speak a very little French and were able to get by. The restaurant is small and lovely with some tables sprinkled outside. There is a pond with a lovely waterfall. The room that we had was small for us but completely fine for a couple. There was no safe, pool or air conditioning but no need for them as well. It's located 15 minutes to Deauville and Treauville centers and beaches. 1.5 hours to Omaha beach and 1.25 hours to Giverny (Monet's house and gardens.) Its about 5 minutes to Hornfleur which is an absolutely charming town center with many restaurants to choose from--but skip the Hornfleur beach that looks at a massive power plant--the antithesis of charming.
