The service is poor quality. Waitresses are screaming to each other which order to take or which table to serve. Also, make sure to check your bills. I got an NA orange drink that was delicious. I got the shrimp popsicles to start and for my meal I got the octopus. Now for me octopus can be dangerous. I've had it done places where it was gross and places it was pretty good. Here it was absolutely delicious. Charged a little and in this sauce with sweeter tomatoes. They have everything from full bodied red wines, whites, rosé and Champagne. You buy the bottle in the store. If you would like to enjoy the bottle at La Grande Cave or just have a glass of the bottle, corkage is €8. The light food is well presented, is of high quality and is very individual depending on the waiter. One dish can be garnished with paprika and strawberries by one and with tomatoes by another. Interesting and authentic! You can also buy wine by the glass. They have red/white/rosé of the day for about €8 with higher quality than neighboring restaurants. The winestore/bar has about 6 small tables in a steep alley located in central Villefranche. During high season there is a calm flow of people strolling by. The environment is beautiful with a glimpse of the harbour. This is a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner.
