WOW! This is a hidden treasure in this neighborhood. During the day, you wouldn't even think about…read moregoing inside this bar, as it doesn't look inviting at all. But on Saturday night, this is the place to be. Well I should say most Saturday's. The place turns into a Jazz/improv concert joint, where musicians from all over the world come play with their instruments. I stood in the middle of people enjoying a great music and a drink. Most of the audience is made of musicians and singers, locals and not, cheering every so often for someone's solo performance. The atmosphere is contagious and you'll find yourself smiling. If you play an instrument, feel free to jump in. Drinks are cheap, music is good and the people are just happy to be there.

We heard this was a newer tapas place in the local area so we thought we would visit the night…read morebefore we left Nice. It was fantastic. The venue was small and quaint, the menu had lots of tapas to choose from, and they had a great wine selection consisting of Reds, Roses, and Whites. The staff was very friendly and helped us with the menu since we could not speak French. We spent several hours here and more and more people arrived, appeared to be locals, which was a great sign to use we found a great place. After dinner, we had deserts which were great too. If you can, visit Le Tono. You should have a great meal!

We started off dinner getting the burrata, which was surrounded by a tomato bruschetta mixture, which was perfect. It was croutons and tomatoes mixed together with vinegar and balsamic and the flavors all melted together beautifully. I originally wanted to order the chicken breast, but they were out, and had duck as the replacement. I was not a big fan of the duck, but I am not a big duck person to begin with, so that is my own fault. My friends seafood pasta was good, but nothing to write home about. I am giving it five stars because of the warm bread served with the phenomenal olive oil, the fresh and flavorful burrata, and the finisher - cannolis. I had searched high and low for some good cannolis in Europe - and this was the first place I had found them. Absolutely phenomenal! (Service was also lovely, our waitress had to put up with an extremely drunk customer and handled it very professionally)

I must say this place was very disappointing. I ordered their pork special which turned out to be a…read morebreaded pork chop. It tasted fairly pedestrian and needed some misted to get any taste. The worse part of it was that it was pretty overcooked and required some effort to chew. I had skipped breakfast that morning so I was fairly hungry so I managed to work through it. The zucchini on the side was, in contrast, delicious. The bread was okay. Even though the restaurant is "non-smoking" indoors the smoke from their outdoor section is very strong as they leave the doors open. The saving grace was that everyone was very friendly and polite.

We got a nice table under the pergola with the waves crashing on the beach at 5 meters from our table. Good chill out music, nice table setting. We ordered a champagne spritz to start. It was very nice. Then we had some oysters and a snapper sashimi as starters, both very great. But the best still has to come. As main course I took the fresh lobster 'a la plancha' and I could say that it was one of the best lobster I ever had. It was presented fresh to me, then cooked at perfection with some very delightful side dishes. My wife also enjoyed very much the beef fillet coming with the same side dishes. I can only recommend this place that will become one of our best addresses in the area. Looking forward to coming during the day for a drink or lunch with the feet on the sand.

The risotto was cooked well but with the cheese it was a little too thick. The scallops were cooked & seasoned well. The presentation was pretty. The size of the dish was pretty big and I couldn't eat the entire meal. My dining buddy had the California salad which was more like a chef's salad. It was a full meal and had some great vegetables - corn and artichoke hearts. A little different and very tasty.
