Quite possibly the worst food I have ever had in my life.
We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel (and after looking at the reviews it seems that everyone was recommended by their hotel) and there must be some sort of "under the table commission" because there is no way a 5 star hotel would honestly recommend this pigstein.
To start, the restaurant was filled with Americans. Not a single French person (besides the waiter, who was more concerned with cracking jokes and posing for the camera than delivering good service or food).
The food was literally inedible. The oysters, despite them saying they were fresh and delivered today, were solid and gummy. A good fresh oyster should separate easily from the shell and I had to dig in with a knife, and by that it was clear they were not fresh at all. Not to mention they smelled and tasted of fish. Off to a great start...
For entrees we ordered a Caesar Salad and their "special" for the night, Entrecôte. The salad was topped with eggs, tomatoes and anchovies, none of which I have ever seen on a caesar salad. The chicken breast was pink and slimy. The entrecôte, besides costing 40 Euros, was completely raw. We ordered it medium and said no pink inside but it was practically still mooing. The sauce was full of whole peppercorns and honestly the French fries were the most edible thing we ate.
We had high hopes for the dessert, with this being France after all, but we were mistaken. We ordered the strawberry cream cake, a dish we'd had in Paris and was delicious. Unfortunately, It tasted like it was prepared yesterday. the lady fingers were soggy. The cream tasted expired and off. The strawberry's were mushy and rotten. The only thing we ate from the dessert was a single raspberry used for garnish.
I have never had food like this in my life and would highly recommend any and everyone with tastebuds to stay away. read more
