Ordered a vest and service dog patches on 08/04/11. I was told by Karen I would receive it in 10 buisness days. Call back several times to let karen know I had not received my order, now she is no longer returning my calls or emails. So I contacted my bank to get my charges reversed. This company thinks they can take ppls money and not send you what you paid for. I thought companies could not take your money until your items were ready to ship. This company is a scam, and I don't do business with this company! They will only take your money and not send you squat!!! read more

I truly wish I could give LDS zero stars, as they are thieves! Karen said she didn't have a leash exactly like I wanted, but would send one anyway, and if I didn't like it could return it for another. After notifying her by email and phone (which they NEVER answer) that I was sending it back and wanted a different one - and after they had taken payment - I could never reach Karen or anyone else at the company again. So they took my money, took advantage of a disabled person, and gave me NOTHING in return, unless you count aggravation and a sense of being ripped-off. Although this is my 4th purchase from LDS (in addition to many referrals) I would not use this company again. 1. The order took 60 days to be shipped even though they charged my credit card on the day I ordered. 2. The patch was not the one I ordered and when questioned they said the one I wanted was no longer available and they had upgraded me. The "upgrade" patch was NOT what I wanted and they had not asked before filling the order. As of today the patch I did order is still shown on the web site. 3. The format of the ID card has been changed and it is not representative of what is on the website. The word "handler" was on the order but the card I received looked "cutsy" instead of official. These people are terrible! They messed up a simple order, refused to fix the situation, then sent me rude emails instead of being apologetic. They messed up my order (it was very clear, I ordered a yellow dog vest and they sent a wine-colored one). Then, they refused to provide me a way to send it back to them. They said they were afraid I might try to keep the mistake vest, too. I proposed that they send me some sort of postage-paid return packaging and then send me the new one after they received the mistake vest. They refused to do that. I explained that the reason I ordered online and by mail (instead of just going into a store to buy a vest) is because it is difficult for me to get to the post office. They sent me a rude reply refusing to do anything to help me. At that point, I told them I wanted them to just refund all my money and I'd send everything back to them. Here's is the reply that Kevin sent back to me: "You want respect, then quit being a pain in the ass and earn it. It's not free." This company is HORRIBLE!! Their "store address" is not a store... It's a post office. "Also guess what? Since we don't want you as a customer I don't intend to give you our physical address. REALLY wish I'd come here and read the reviews before I purchased an item from this company. My story is almost exactly the same to all the others, missed shipping dates, no replies, ignore emails, etc. etc. etc. There are so many great small companies that do this sort of work please save yourself the time and frustration and go with someone else. In short my order took more than a month (very simple vest), they will not return my emails and the item that arrived is not correct. I will be taking the issue up with my credit card company next. If I could give 0 stars I would. I wish I would have seen the ratings before I ordered. I placed an order for tracking articles back in September 2018. A couple weeks later I emailed and called from the original # I ordered from to check the status, I received no reply. I called off a different # and she answered and told me she placed my order in the mail and it would be to me in a couple days. Weeks went by, no package. It has now been 8 MONTHS, no package. But you best believe they charged my account right after I placed the order. I placed an order Dec 30 and was told 3-4 weeks. By the end of Jan I had heard nothing. Sent an email asking for an update. They ignored me. A week later I sent a second email. They ignored that too. Then I decided to defy the instructions on their website and call as well. The voicemail was full! I figured this was a terrible sign, so I wrote a third email saying that they must not be in business anymore and that I was going to check my credit card and dispute any charges. THAT they answered and said that if I bothered to read their site I'd know that they only charge my card when they start my order. So they were canceling my order. I wrote back to say that I still wanted it but would wait if they could tell me how long it would actually take. They ignored me again. I resent the email, and they replied telling me that people who threaten to dispute charges are bad customers and never happy so they didn't want to deal with someone like me. They suggested I take my business elsehwere. These people are absurd. And since they're old and retired and don't need your money, they feel no need to offer any level of customer service. The company seemed good until I ordered a vest for my dog that is being trained by a trainer to be a mobility service dog. I ordered on Feb 21st and was told that it would be delivered by the 2/25. It is March 9th and I have called at least 10 times, everything goes to a voice mail. I have emailed the company 15+ times and still no answer. I contacted the credit card company I purchased it through and the LDS received the money. read more

LDS leather is a company that cannot be trusted. I ordered a leash in Dec. 2014 and was promised delivery at least 4 times...3 of those time they told me it had been sent out the day before. They answered emails occasionally, but sadly none of their replies were true. The last time I was told it was on its way was May 2015...it's now December and it hasn't shown up yet. read more

Not only are they LATE shipping, but they do ignore requests for information (and are not consistent with answering the phone, if you leave a message, they won't call you back). Once I did finally speak with someone, they were quite unhelpful and nasty. Unbelievable. I've never had a bad experience with any internet company. This is a first, and it is a whopper. Like some of the other posters here, if I could do minus-1 star I would. My husband is legally blind, and we wanted some new leashes for his new guide dog. We knew some of the guide dog schools have used their leashes in the past, so we thought we could trust them. NO. You cannot trust them! We ordered three leashes this summer, back in August. We have not received them, we have been over-charged to the tune of more than $200, they don't answer their phones, the contact info on their website no longer works, they do not answer emails, except for one time when they sent out tracking info saying the items were being shipped--but that was a lie. Nothing ever completed with the tracking. We called our bank to dispute the charges, but then we find out they are processing payments through Square Cash--who simply says, "Hey, not our problem!" They processed the funds and say they have NO responsibility for what happens after that. Way to go Square Cash! A partner in the ripping off of blind clients! You should be so proud. At any rate, my advice is do NOT order anything at all from LDS leather unless you enjoy being charged more than agreed, and seeing your money go into the great abyss with nothing in return. We trusted. We paid. We got ripped off. No leashes. No response from LDS leather. Absolutely NO care for their customers. These guys should be put all the way out of business. read more

This is my second experience with LDS you think I would have learned. I am hearing impaired and have a hear assist service dog. The first experience they shorted my order, I had ordered 2 vests and they only sent one. After one month of calling, they finally responded and I received the second vest. This time I ordered a vest on Nov 2, they charged my credit card on Nov. 2; I emailed them on Nov 15, asking for a update. I did not receive a response so on Nov 18, I called and left a message. NO response. On November 22, another phone call no response. On November 29, another emailed again through the company website, and again silence no response. Today December 6, I called and finally someone called back to tell me that the package was at the post office. Very poor customer service and response. So we go to the post office and pick up the vest. The quality of the sewing appears that a unexperienced seamstress completed the stitching.I will be finding another vendor for my service dog supplies. And to the first reviewer about all the fake service dogs, please go through life hearing impaired and needing assistance 24/7 - at least my service dog is there for my support!! read more

I have worked with Karen on several things for over 15 years. I find her to be very accommodating and knowledgeable. She goes out of her way to do the best she can with your requirements. No one can do everything that is required. To those of you who must write nasty reviews, you have probable never worked in customer service and have to listen to people complain about the most irrelevant things. Try being nice. LDS Leather is very UNPROFESSIONAL!! In OCTOBER 2012 I ordered 2 leashes and 2 collars and spent over 125.00. They charged my credit card the very same day...After many, and I mean MANY attempts to get my product we are now 3 months later and still I don't have my money NOR my product. Karen at LDS had made all the excuses in the book when I was able to phone her...NOW the phone number is disconnected. Isn't that just how a business should run a company? I've ordered several dog vests and a bangin' custom pink spiked collar from LDS leather and every single item has arrived within the promised time frame and, most importantly, has been absolutely gorgeous. I'm not sure why my experiences have apparently been so different from others, but I'd absolutely recommend them----my collar/leash set is 3 years old and I still get compliments on it pretty much every day. (Of course, my dog's natural beauty and poise are probably contributing factors, but the collar really is spectacular.) read more

If there were a minus star I would use it. I ordered 2 dog vests over the recent holidays & when I received them they were not what I expected. Cheap & basic looking, plus one was the extreme wrong side. Also when I received them there was no packing slip, no way to get ahold of them. They also said they were closed from Dec 16 to Jan 2 (what business closes over the Christmas holiday?), I gave them that though. I emailed & got the address, sent them back & that was 35 days ago. I emailed them again today & they responded back quite hostile, with the last email sounding almost like a threat. The worst customer service I have ever experenced. I ordered weeks in advance of taking a service dog on a flight. I was assured the vest and ID would be mailed in time. It didn't arrive. I called and was told they would call back with the status. THey never called. After the trip, I called again and was hung up on. I had to go to my credit card company to get my money back. All I know is I bought the harness in 2001. Its in fantastic shape. Easy to handle the dog with. Its in great condition I know it will last though my second dog. They also did custom work to my patches they are sewn on leather with a metal snap .no big plastic hooks or Velcro so I can just snap them on what ever I use. I looked again just recently for Bear and all I found is stuff that is too hot. A hassle to put on and crappy patches. I either use a double short leash this is good in close quarters like restaurants or the hard handle soft on my hands and easy to man over the pup into spots I want him in. They are not quick order but more of a speciality. If you are just looking for a fake vest and patch . You will pay the same but it will be quicker. My dogs harness has been shipped back and forth for changes over the years for my digs needs or mine as I began to walk. Never any problems. read more

This is company is nothing but a rip off. I ordered a custom service dog vest on 1-3-13 that was supposed to be shipped on 1-25-13. I only got that day as a ship date b/c I called multiple times. After waiting another week and several phone calls and emails later they quit answering me. Just know that most banks give you 60 days to dispute a charge. They charged my credit card and refused to credit me or even give me the tracking numbers for my shipment. They stated it shipped a week ago and I had ordered it over 3 months ago. They originally stated it would only take 4 wks to deliver, but I never received anything I ordered! They are terrible! The lady that I spoke to placed me on hold for 20 minutes and never gave me any tracking numbers. She asked me to email her requesting the same thing in a email form. Still zero response. Did I tell you they are terrible??? Do NOT ORDER from them! They owe me the product I ordered or at least the $200+ dollars they charged on my credit card! I have called and they have caller ID and only answer if I call from a different number. I was very polite every time I spoke to the woman. I ordered four tiny 3/4 " by 4" service dog patches from this company on Sunday 11/4/12...they were $5.95 each and the shipping was $12.95. I never received a confirmation e-m from them. I finally sent them an e-m on 11/13 stating that the patches not only had NOT arrived, that I had received no e-m confirmation from them, and that I thought that their shipping of $12.95 was excessive...but that the time was fast approaching for my trip with Gus...and that I needed the patches promptly. I FINALLY got a curt e-m from them stating that the patches would arrive at the end of the week...which they did on Friday 11/16...express mail from the post office $7.00 on the envelope (that needed to be signed for)...not the $12.95 shipping that they charged me...evidently they just pocketed the extra $6 for themselves. Anyway...these four patches were so light that they COULD have been sent in a regular first class envelope for a the price of a first class stamp. I feel totally ripped off...having my credit card charged for a total of $36.75 for these patches. I will not be ordering from them again...and suggest you do not either. read more

Man I wish I would have come here and read the reviews before trying to order something from this company. They are HORRIBLE!! I've had the same experience as the other negative reviews! I placed an order and they charged my account, but then never returned my emails or calls asking about shipping time! I finally cancelled my order & they have remained unresponsive! I finally called my bank to dispute the charge & they did a 3-way call to the company. The woman at LDS wouldn't give her name, & she immediately started arguing with myself & the representative from the bank! She was incredibly rude & threatened to not credit my account! She finally agreed that if I would drop the dispute, they would credit my account. Guess we'll see if that actually happens! If not, I'll be calling my bank back to open the claim back up! I will never, ever, EVER purchase anything from this company. I really wish they would just go out of business because they have no place in the retail/customer service industry! Awful!
