this location looks small, but packs a serious punch and is also brand new…read more this outstandingly clean store has one of the biggest wine collections that I have seen, given the space of the store front. this location isn't very wide by any means but is super long which allows for a lot of storage of bottles. the staff here are super great, some of the best in the LCBO system, where you are greeted on arrival and attended to, no matter what you are after. this location definitely goes the extra mile. parking options are on the street, and various above ground parking lots in the area. transit options are the 501 queen directly, the 502 downtowner and 503 Kingston road (limited schedule) also the 504 king and the 72 pape are options with a bit of a walk. We asked one of the staff on the floor who did a quick scan with a machine and was able to tell us that they only had what was left on the shelves. We wound up clearing out that shelf and he helped us load up the cart. If you're stocking up for the party season, they have empty boxes up at the front that you can carry your goods out in. The cashier asked us if we needed one and helped us look for one that could hold a dozen bottles of wine. She also helped us pack up our wine to go. Nice employees and good prices.

I guess an employee saw my arms getting full and decided he'd help out. He came by with a bag and helped me unload the goods. I was looking for a survival pack from Muskoka Brewery but noticed they were all sold out. The same dude went into the back room and found me another survival pack with a summer ale instead of the winterweiss. He said they cannot display the summer stuff anymore because of the season change. Instead of letting this beer go to waste in the back, I took the case and grabbed a tally of the winterweiss and checked out. I sauntered out of there like a kid in a candy shop, happy as can be! The store is clean and organized and hosts some great employees.

From a larger perspective, Beer stores in general have become less useful, unless you're into picking up larger cases of beer (which I'm usually not). For my liking, in that I often buy only a dozen or so at a time, and often like to pick up a bunch of mixed singles, there are better stores than this one. As it pertains to this particular store, I've found that they have less selection than most other stores, and I also tend to find them less organized (not only are their shelves of mixed singles often messy, the store itself has things all over the place). They also seem to be terminally low on stock of some of the singles. Last time I couldn't find any of the buck a beer options. Not sure if they carry them at this store, but hard to tell. The people that work here are nice, and tend to be as efficient as in most other stores. This is the closest beer store to my house, but I'll often go a little out of my way to go to a different store, or go to the LCBO, who have a far better selection of singles beers.

So the store is just a little tiny hole in the wall, but they have something that you'll like. They won't have everything under the sun, as the Wine Rack chain does stick to Canadian wines. But they also carry some Canadian-International blends. I tried some South African-Canadian CabSauv Merlot that was really nice! They had a taste test the other day for some new chard. Nice touch!
