I don't visit an LCBO store all that often. I am a social drinker, meaning that I tend to get together with friends or colleagues, and have a drink over dinner or after work out. These days, going out for a drink seems like a distant memory.
Recently, Cottage Springs released a vodka water line. It is non-carbonated compared to its vodka soda line. I was interested in trying it, but it wasn't high on my list.
I was recently in Streetsville, picking up goodies from Supermoon Japanese Cheesecake. I was in my car, driving out of the plaza, and saw this LCBO. I immediately parked fairly close to the main entrance and decided to check this store out.
Unlike the two LCBO stores that I pass by fairly often in Markham, and a couple in Leaside and Stouffville, this store did not have a lineup outside the door. Nice!
I walked in. There was a huge bottle of hand sanitizer on the table. A security guard with a mask and a face guard was there. I said hi and he reciprocated.
There are red arrows taped on the floor. The man heading towards me in our aisle and the woman in the aisle to my right were going in the opposite direction of the arrows on the floor. I take it that they don't drive. Otherwise, they'd be dead.
I didn't need any rum or beer. I have still have some at home. I didn't bother looking at them. Otherwise, I'd probably buy more items than I should.
I liked the Clamato and Bacardi offerings. I was tempted to try them out, but I was here for vodka water.
I found my section and looked at everything. What I didn't enjoy was another security person looking at what I was doing twice. I was looking at beverages. You saw that the first time. Why cycle back five seconds later when my stance hasn't changed much? Weird.
I got Cottage Springs vodka waters in strawberry kiwi and raspberry lime. Mission accomplished! I also got hard peach iced tea and raspberry hibiscus sparking wine beverages.
I had a nice man cashing me out. I had my Air Miles scanned. I paid using debit, which pleased him. All was good. I took my paper bag of goodies, thanked him, and left the store.
Other than the weird security vibe happening, I liked how quiet this store was. I'd come back when I'm in the area.
