The weather was great..even with the complimentary downpour day to let the skin come off sizzle mode..just perfect. We were a large family group... family coming in from NY, NM, Ca and Germany. We pushed the limits in space but with the backyard patio area, rooftop hot tub soaking deck (special accolades to that), the ocean so close and so many places you could walk, bike, paddle to we never at all came to in your face situations... which we all know with family is usually inevitable. We wanted to do something special for our Mom (Omi) for her birthday so we took Mary Ann and Tom's referral and hired the caterer that they suggested... we did a luau theme and they came to the house with the pig roast complete with Hawaiian veges and salads. I for one was amazed that we actually surprised her but I do believe we really pulled it off. We were initially hesitant to rent because of landowners sharing the same house..but we started our search late and there weren't many options to accommodate our large group so we took the chance. Couldn't have been any farther from the fears we had to reality. Always friendly and helpful.. never intrusive or controlling. By the time we left it felt like we were leaving old friends.... the hot donuts Mary Ann brought us from an old time LBI donut shop, the morning before we left sealed the deal! Our family grew up summers in LBI..staying with friends that owned and/or our family renting for weeks at a time. I think I can speak for our family in saying we came home that week. A wonderful magical place in our memories. Lucky me got to share it with my granddaughter while my Mom (Omi) is still with us and oh so big a center of our family. 4 generations of LBI addicts.... what better place to enjoy family!

We had a view of the dunes and ocean from our room and a nice little deck seating area with a table and chairs. The self-serve coffee bar and ice machines saved us from having to go to a coffee shop every morning so that was a definite plus! There's a small deli/convenience store within walking distance where you can get baked goods and other foods and an ice cream shop with bike rentals a bit further away but still manageable. The beach entrance was right across the street from our parking lot! It is a short drive to liquor and grocery stores as well as the hustle and bustle of the mom and pop shops and arcade/amusements for the kids. We will definitely be visiting again!

(After all, they've been in business for 30+ years!) I've been coming to LBI since i was a baby, and somehow missed this hidden gem! My fiancé and I were recommended this place by numerous people and boy were they right! The second you walk in, you're in awe of all the cute homey decor and games, piano, and cozy patio! Some things to note: -If you're worried about a shared bathroom: most rooms have their own private bathroom, but we booked late and were left with only the shared bathroom option. There was a separate key and it was always locked after use. The bathroom is shared with two rooms only, and was kept immaculate. I would definitely be content if i had to stay in that room again (plus it saved a bit of money) -The breakfast was great! It made it feel like home! Joanne's banana bread was deliiicious! As was everything else, and they have a ton of options for all dietary needs! -You can't go wrong staying on any of the floors! We were on the second floor and it was easy to pop in and out! -The $20/PP for late checkout was so worth it! You get to stay at the beach a little later, make use of their bikes and chairs, beach badges and pop in for a quick refreshment and shower before your trip ends! -Location: 10/10. Beach side, so it's easy to get to, but around the corner from CHEGG and a quick walk to fantasy island! Overall, I would give it a higher rating if i could! The unit was very clean and cute and we appreciated having linens and towels provided and prepared upon arrival. The tables and chairs on the porch were a great place to unwind at the end of a fun filled day. Extra super bonus-- there are washers and dryers for use from 3-10 every day. And the more senior person at the front desk was very competent. However, the younger woman at the desk, who was there the rest of the time, was not. When my boys asked where was the beach (first timers, didn't know which direction to walk), she answered that she didn't know. Seriously?? You're working in a beach area! We didn't have enough bath towels. When I asked her for additional towels for the boys, she only had one bath and one hand towel. I actually had no bath towel in my room and had to use a hand towel to dry off. They were like sand paper. Towels are a pretty basic need for a hotel stay, not a luxury item. You shouldn't run out of towels. Also, the fee to replace a lost beach pass is exorbitant. $75!! We stayed at another hotel the next night and I inquired about their beach pass replacement fee, which was $50. This place is a glorified motel that charges like a 4 star hotel, while offering barely any amenities. We stayed at a different hotel the next night with incredible amenities and stellar customer service, for not much more than I paid at the Boulevard. Live and learn.
