I can't remember the last time we all sat down for a meal together. The outdoor space was relaxing. The addition of a new blackstone griddle in the back made cooking up big breakfasts fast and easy. The proximity to the beach made trips back and forth to from the house to take a toddler to the bathroom, fix lunch, or run back to grab something quick made for a stress free week. The hosts were incredibly accommodating even though we hardly ever saw them. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Our family reunion vacation week for our mother's 80th Birthday at Tom and Mary Ann's house was…read morenothing short of fantastic! The weather was great..even with the complimentary downpour day to let the skin come off sizzle mode..just perfect. We were a large family group... family coming in from NY, NM, Ca and Germany. We pushed the limits in space but with the backyard patio area, rooftop hot tub soaking deck (special accolades to that), the ocean so close and so many places you could walk, bike, paddle to we never at all came to in your face situations... which we all know with family is usually inevitable. We wanted to do something special for our Mom (Omi) for her birthday so we took Mary Ann and Tom's referral and hired the caterer that they suggested... we did a luau theme and they came to the house with the pig roast complete with Hawaiian veges and salads. I for one was amazed that we actually surprised her but I do believe we really pulled it off. We were initially hesitant to rent because of landowners sharing the same house..but we started our search late and there weren't many options to accommodate our large group so we took the chance. Couldn't have been any farther from the fears we had to reality. Always friendly and helpful.. never intrusive or controlling. By the time we left it felt like we were leaving old friends.... the hot donuts Mary Ann brought us from an old time LBI donut shop, the morning before we left sealed the deal! Our family grew up summers in LBI..staying with friends that owned and/or our family renting for weeks at a time. I think I can speak for our family in saying we came home that week. A wonderful magical place in our memories. Lucky me got to share it with my granddaughter while my Mom (Omi) is still with us and oh so big a center of our family. 4 generations of LBI addicts.... what better place to enjoy family!

To start, you have to call for availability and to book a room. You will likely talk to Joe, one of the owners, who always seems to run the front desk. Joe is a TOTAL sweetheart. He made the booking process easy and simple and wished us safe travels on our way to the Motel. We were also going to be arriving a bit late and Joe kept the front desk open so we could pick up our keys! The rooms are so cute and have almost everything you need for a weekend away. We had a fridge, microwave, tv, and Keurig in our room. The only think that seemed to be missing was a hairdryer so be sure to bring your own when you come! One of the best things about the Motel was that Joe gave us a ton of suggestions for restaurants and things to do on the coast. The Islander Motel also provides beach tags for guests so you don't have to buy a daily one at the beach. Our stay at the Islander Motel was awesome! We will definitely be coming back to visit again sometime soon. Thank you Joe!!

If i could give this place 10 stars i would. This is a great example of never judge a book by its…read morecover. You think of motels and think "ew. No thank you." But this place was amazing. Joe was the best tenant you could ask for and we were amazed by the customer service. The room was extraordinary and very clean. We had room 1A and had a large bathroom with a beautiful tub and sink. Each room had hangers, a tv with Apple TV, a k-cup coffee machine, and two full beds that fit me my husband and son. Each room had rocking chairs outside and we were able to sit and watch the sunset from the room. Everything was in walking distance and i would say we will be coming back. Rented a house for a week through this place and the house was misrepresented by glamorous pictures…read moremaking it look better than it was. Come to find out the place was a dump and worse it was filthy upon arrival with horrible beds and hardly any seating in common areas. This agency represented the owners and imposed all sorts of cleaning rules on the rental which was unnecessary since it was trashed coming in. I would never rent another house through this agency on LBI again due to their disorganization and just lack of knowledge with LBI rentals. There are plenty of other good agencies to work with on LBI.

My family and I typically rent from this agency for a house in Surf City. We always use Ray, and he…read moreis very nice/friendly. The only downside to renting the house is that there is ALWAYS contractors coming in to work on the house. The week we rented, we had someone come in twice to work on the hot tub on the roof (the first time, someone knocked but we did not answer since we did not know who it was, and they already left, the second time they came right on in and did not knock.) Another contractor came by while we were out, we knew because when we came back the truck was in the drive way. Finally, another contractor came while we were getting ready to leave the house (to go back home). Our check out time was by 10:00 AM and the guy came at 9:00 AM. He said to my husband "Oh wow, I hoped you would be gone by now haha." ..... I know in the contract it states that it is "possible" that contractors can stop by, but we already had people come by 3-4 times in the span of the one week we were there. I just wish we were notified about it before hand...
