Sometimes people are more concerned with "getting even" rather than telling the truth. That's the case here.
First, the people who this drill is about had three (3) rooms. No complaints with the other two rooms whatsoever. In fact, they had pulled the bed-sheets down in their room, and one of the occupants took a nap and showered.
The folks were in their rooms for over 3 hours before one (1) made a complaint.
Now for the one complaint. One room was having a problem with the electronic key card. Our supplier sent us a box (500) of defective cards. These have magnetic strips that are encoded to allow you entry into your room, like your credit or debit card.
There is no question that there was a problem, and it took about 20 minutes to resolve - but it was resolved, and the customer was provided with two keycards that fully worked.
The man that had the key card problem was also having a large time with Blue Moon beer (was in his room on the table right as you entered) as well as in his hand. He was also the "alpha male" in the group. He is the one to make the decision for all to leave (for the whole group).
As far as the refund situation, the chap that was filling in for the owner (who was in Muscogee, OK) at a funeral for his mother, didn't have the codes for the credit card terminal in order to do a refund. There is a password that is required, and the fill-in clerk didn't know how to do it. That has been resolved. However, the main complainer was told that he could get his refund the very next morning. And did, bright and early! But he didn't like it so, he called the police, who were told the situation, and left. Then all three rooms went directly across the street to another (much more expensive) motel.
The rooms had to be cleaned and bed linen changed and made up again the next day (which meant the rooms were out of service and couldn't be rented as all this happened between 6 and 7 PM), but the folks received all their money back. So, that's EXACTLY how it all happened. Obviously the person who posted had a lapse of memory....
