Initial visit was awesome: a home visit for 2 cats to get shots and a general checkup, nice not having to carry in (2 ) 20# cats Super group of vet techs and vets. Next visit was issues with one cat (Toby): Brought in my 12 year old cat with a group of seemingly minor and but obvious issues and they stayed with him (Toby) until they found out what was wrong.I wouldn't bring by boys (Toby and Olliver) anywhere else. I used to like the this place 2 years ago when I moved here, but now they are just getting too big and losing the personalized service they once gave. You cannot get anyone on the phone and when you go to the office it's like you're on an assembly line. The techs n staff are sell sell sell and could care less about my fur baby. My three year old dachshund hadn't been feeling well so I plan to take him to the vet on a Saturday morning. I called my regular vet and they were closed! On a Saturday! Someone referred me to Lazy 5 Vets and I am so happy with their service. I think I have found myself a new vet. Otis was diagnosed with pancreatitis but they assured me that with the proper diet and care he could still live a long healthy life. They were so sweet and caring and was a great experience. I will definitely be bringing all of my for babies in the future. read more

I have been going to lazy 5 for over 6 years. My furbaby had surgery about 4 years ago and they were amazing. They walked me through the process and even cleaned his teeth while he was under. They helped me with his physical therapy and called to check on him after. He is never scared to go there and the staff is always helpful and friendly. My dog came back from the groomer today with hemorrhaging in his eyes from being choked. When I called up to the vet to ask what to do they said it was probably a reaction from the vaccine that he was given. We took him to the emergency vet because that is what was suggested we do and when we did they said it wasn't from the vaccine that it was from trauma. My animals will NOT be back here at all. My grand dog was groomed at the lazy five vets yesterday April 29 and the lady that groomed him obviously didn't know how to handle a larger dog. According to the emergency vet that they had to take him to that night he had been traumatized by a choker collar. His eyes were swollen and bloodshot. When my son called the Lazy 5 vet back after picking him up, they told him to take him to the emergency vet because they were closed. In reality the were still open for another 5 - 10 minutes and he could have gotten there in time. The dog was almost choked to death by the groomer when all she had to do was call the owner and tell him she was having trouble with him. Please don't take your pets there for grooming or vet care. They obviously don't have the pets best interest in mind. The emergency vet said that it would take a couple weeks for his vision to get back to normal. read more

We love Lazy 5! I have been bringing my brood of 5 (3 cats and 2 dogs) to Lazy 5 Vets since May 2008. Everyone, from the vets to the techs to the receptionists are just wonderful and caring. They make you feel like your pet is part of their family. I'm one of those crazy pet people who call with the most mundane questions, and the techs always answer my questions. And if they don't know, they'll get a vet on the phone that you can speak with. It's wonderful to find a place where everyone is so friendly and helpful. Their prices are extremely reasonable and they don't make you feel like your money is all that matters. I tell everyone about Lazy 5 because we have been so happy with the services we have received. I can't imagine taking our "kids" anywhere else. read more

Was easy to make appointments thru the PetDesk App as well as keeping track of each animals' reminders, medications, history, etc. The staff were all friendly and attentive. Our wait was short and was able to be seen at the time of our appointment. The techs and the vet worked well with my animals and accommodated us bringing two of our dogs at once. All of the pricing was explained up front and there were no hidden charges at the end of the visit. Dr. Jones explained everything she was doing and informed us of all of our options for treatment. Our English golden retriever has been going here for regular check-ups since a puppy. She goes every two weeks for grooming. And, she has spent one weekend here when we were out of town. She seems to love her grooming appointments. She prances in and puts her paws up on the counter to announce her arrival. These loving people are her friends. Disappointed with this Vet practice. Moved to the area 2 years ago and began taking our two dogs here. I never cared for how the Vet would asses the dogs then leave. Next the Vet Tech comes in and reads you the Vet's diagnosis. I felt I was paying to see the Vet and should hear from the Vet directly and be able to ask questions. I gave them the benefit of doubt and kept going since this seems to be the most popular vet in town. We decided to try out their boarding service for a long weekend trip. Our dogs came home acting like they hadn't been given water all weekend. We board our dogs on a semi-regular basis and they have never acted like this after staying at other boarding places. I did report this issue to the owner. Unfortunately around November my Doxie hurt her front leg and required a trip to the emergency vet and then a follow-up trip to her regular Vet at Lazy 5. The diagnosis from the emergency vet was a pinched nerve in her neck. At the follow-up visit with Lazy 5 to find out next steps, I was asked what I wanted to do by the Vet. Obviously, I went to the Vet to get their expert guidance and stated such. The vet then asked if I was considering putting down my dog since she is older (12). I was dumbfounded! I have a healthy dog who just developed a limp on one front leg. I asked what my options were. I was told MRI and then back surgery. These services are in the thousands of dollars each. I came home and researched on my own and ran across success stories using Animal Chiropractors. I made an appointment with a Chiropractor. Lazy 5 Vet called me to check up on my dog. I asked her thoughts on Chiropractic care, she discounted it and said she did not think it was a good idea, that it could make things worse. Common sense to me is that when people have back issues, they go to a chiropractor. We don't put people down because their back is hurt. If my dog were paralyzed, I could understand this going differently but that was not the case. So far I have taken my dog to two Chiropractic visits and she is doing great. She immediately felt better after the first visit and we were able to take her off the pain med's the vet had put her on within a day or two. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this vet. I will be seeking a Vet practice that is open to Alternative Vet practices as a first option before surgery. It deeply saddens me to think that people may think that putting their dog down or face a $4000 surgery is their only option because that is the only thing their Vet is telling them. read more

What a terrible experience. I brought my cats here a few times and each time my stomach was literally sick. If you want to be treated with by a group that lacks compassion and empathy and treats you and your pets like a blank check, then this place is for you. After my last super bad experience here, I went on line and found a wonderful vet clinic in Mooresville that is caring and in it because they actually care about animals. I even took the invoice from my last visit here with me to the new vet and just as I had suspected there were unnecessary charges and price gouging. The only good thing I have to say about Lazy Five is the spay/neuter clinic next door. read more

I wish I never took my pet to this vet. These doctors are out to make the big$$. My poor kitten was sick and only weeks old. I researched her symptoms and found that she had all of the signs of a upper respiratory infection. I made an appointment to see a DOCTOR hoping they would actually care about my baby kitten and want the best for her. WRONG. I got to speak with an assistant most of the time about what i had already wrote on the chart about her problems and then repeated to a "doctor" After I repeated her symptoms AGAIN I was told that she only had a scratch on her eye. hmmm weird. WRONG. shes sneezing has a swollen shut eye and hates life. Shes sick. but, im not a doctor. She was prescribed 3 different medications all in which my kitten didnt respond well to. (maybe because they were the WRONG medications) ... I was told to return if things got worse.. you know they did. (hence the 1 star) I brought her back less than 48 hours later.. with an eye completely closed, leaking god knows what. The DOCTOR says, "shes has a perfect eye.. looks like a upper respiratory infection." Exactly what I told her upon our fist visit. Luckily my kitten is NOW diagnosed properly and is on the way to recovery. For me I guess Ill eat Ramen Noodles because i got robbed. I was charged for another visit and new medication! They instructed me to disregard the other meds all together. ($100 worth) This is ridiculous and needs to be heard. Speaking for my Kitten.... The most expensive vet in rowan co. I've been going here for a few yrs and recently got tired of being nickel and dimed. You get your bill and are charged for things you weren't even seen for, such a dishonest way to do business. They do not seem to care about your animal, they care about their wallets. Go see Dr Steinman at Salisbury Animal Hospital. Much nicer, more professional and you won't go broke just to have your animals seen. read more

Best vet and boarding I have ever experience. My dog loves the people. Never had any issues with the care. My dog never comes home with kennel cough or smelling like a kennel. I have brought my animals to Lazy 5 for many years. The costs have been more expensive than other local vets but I thought well you get what you pay for.I have probably spent at least 1,000 dollars there just this year alone.I call the office and they were closed, on a Saturday afternoon!!! Just a thought that if they stayed open on Saturday afternoon that people while off work then would have the opportunity to take their animals to the vet for care.Instead it forces people to take time off in the middle of the week,(less likely to be able to get the care for their pet.)So in turn the p rices are higher. My dog is old and is having congestive heart failure.. He doesnt have much time.Now i hope I will not have to spend the extra gas and emergency fee to travel to the emergency clinic.
