I was told that this car had been looked over by a mechanic who must have been asleep because after 1 month the exhaust split in half, the brakes needed doing ( I'm no mechanic so i trusted what they said) the tyres were bald on the inside edge, the tracking was a mile out and also it had a disturbing knock as i went over the slightest bump which i presumed was the spare wheel bouncing around under the car (the spare wasn't even a wheel for that car!!!!), i put it through for its MOT at the end of September and it failed quite badly mainly on front suspension parts which the guy told me would have most definitely needed replacing last year they were that worn out

Was so pleasantly suprised, the salesman (Phil) did not apply any pressure or play any games, had done a fair bit of research so knew I was getting a good deal. When I decided to buy the car they put it in for MOT, valet and organised the tax all the same day and it was ready for me the next. After a quick look round I saw the car I wanted so did not compare deals on others however there appeared to a a wide range from approx £1500 up over. I also paid for the car so can't comment on finance packages available but given the name of the garage I am guessing this would not be a problem. Next time I need a new car (hopefully not for a few years or I may revisit my review!) this place will be my first port of call.

My new car was exactly as described and I drove it to Spain and back which was 3945 miles. The team at direct corrected every fault with the car before I bought it without quibble. They were helpful, attentive and pro active. I cannot more highly recommend my purchase which is still running perfectly some 5 months later. Would I recommend again, yes I would. Two cars and both perfect with no issues. Some people have criticised their customer relationship but I cannot. Bottom line is that I bought cheap, got a fantastic customer assistance and walked away with a great deal. Maybe I was lucky but I don't doubt their integrity.

Paid for it, brought it home and parked it on the drive, ready for when she passed her test. Daughter started the car up yesterday and drove up and down the drive and noticed a noise coming from front of car. Neighbour looked and suspects it's a coil spring. Phoned country side cars as obviously fault when she bought it since it hasn't been driven only to be told that they don't guarantee cars under £1000 and that she should just go get it fixed. So after paying £700 and trusting the salesman she now has a car that can't be driven. Well done countryside cars, hope your proud of ripping young girls off.

Discount Motor Company
Went up from Yorkshire to look at a used corsa I'd seen on autotrader from this company. 1st…read moreimpressions weren't good looked a bit arfur Daly to me but we'd drove an hour to get there so we went to view the car. All in all the car wasn't to bad for the age and price bodywork reasonable interior excellent so we arranged a test drive with some guy in an old hut in the yard. He gave us the key and off we went. This was to be my sons 1st car so I drove so to spot any faults not that I'm a mechanic I don't know a clutch from a big end! On returning to the yard I told the guy about a lot of pulling to the right possibly tracking and very poor brakes. Apart from that my son liked the car so we showed an interest in buying. I agreed a £150 payment extra on top of the price for the tracking to be done and a fresh 12 month mot so any major safety faults would be sorted. We shook hands on the deal and agreed to return in 5 days to collect the car. On our return we collected the car from Davenport cars just up the road from the discount motor company same company I think. I test drove the car and the steering was better still not 100% but a lot better. The car had been valeted with some car mats added and an interior valet so very clean. We went to pay the balance in a little hut where you could only pay £250 by card as that's all the machine would accept so it was cash or bank transfer for the rest we paid cash. This guy came across as northern Del Boy and assured me everything was OK. He gave me the v5 reg document as well as corsa handbook with a 3 month warranty from warranty 2000 probably worthless but hey you never know hopefully we won't need it. He gave me a receipt for payment and a copy of a basic mot certificate which didn't look genuine to me but he said that the DVLA were updating them online. We shook hands and left for Yorkshire with my son driving his new car home. I couldn't help but feel I'd been done over on this deal probably a stolen car or never been mot just scammed so I was a bit on edge. After 4 weeks with the car I've decided to write this review because since we bought the car I've had the new reg document back from DVLA with everything ok no outstanding finance etc I've checked the mot with yes a new online system like the man said and to my shock the car had new brakes new brake pipes light switches 2 tyres and various other bits which failed on the 1st mot and we've had no problems whatsoever touch wood with the car so after thinking the worst with this company I've got to say they were brill for us and did everything they said they would so sometimes you shouldn't judge a book by its cover and these guys deserve a good review
G Scott Cars
I located this car dealer from auto trader who sold second hand cars. I had bought a car from them…read morewith the assurance that everything was working fine. I was just after a reliable cheap to run car. The car was a 1999 Nissan Almera. You don't expect the car to be perfect but if the dealer says it has been "workshop checked" then everything should be o.k. The car was sold with potentially fatal faults, the drive shaft boots on the front of the car were split which could cause the wheels to lock up. The front tyres were also worn down to the legal limit and had to be replaced. I had the car for less than 2 weeks, so I phoned to enquire about the faults. The manager phoned me back he said "All our cars don't come with a warranty, the car was running fine when we sold it" The car was also only getting around 20 miles per gallon which for a 1.4 engine on the open road is pretty poor. When I asked him about this he said " Its normal mpg for that type of car, you might want to change the spark plugs and air filter". The fault for this turned out to be the front brake sticking on one side. It sounded to me like he wasn't really interested, now that he had taken money for the car. I have now had to have the car repaired to make it safe to drive, at a different garage. The cost was an extra £200 on top of what I already paid. This included Tyres, Drive shaft boots, brake parts, and labour charges. I also had to apply for V5 registration document myself because they did not send off for it. I will be selling the car soon, as it has cost far too much money already. This is the first time I have written a review, and normally I let little things go, but if you spend so much of your hard earned money for a service which is poor, you have to let other people know. I would advise to check a car thoroughly if you intend to buy from this dealer, and walk away if there are any signs of faults, because they will not help you after you have bought the car..
