It was so cute. The staff were so great with the kids (aged 4-10ish) and safety was a priority. I didn't get a chance to ride any of the horses, but I'd honestly like to come back and do a one time ride at some point. I haven't ridden a horse since I was a teenager, and being around them made me really happy. Such a fun spot and they have a great mission of equine therapy.

Not only has she developed physical strength and agility, but she has also learned important life skills such as communication, discipline, and perseverance. I am grateful for the opportunity to witness this unique and exciting sport, and I am proud to be a part of a community that values sportsmanship and teamwork. Staff--They are all wonderful. Our guide was a cool dude from England, and everyone just loved to hear him talk. We got to take pictures with the horses after and I would go back every day if I could. Do it for yourself . The horses are very well behaved and appropriate for even beginners (in my opinion).

This latter group sees horses and the people who own and love horses as livestock, and they are best avoided. I have known Robert Stewart since he was an elementary school aged rider on a chestnut mare at a stable in Galesburg. I don't know anyone in the business as conscientious and ethical and skilled as he is. He owns and runs a solid facility in Hickory Corners (the worse thing I can say is that the place is not an easy and quick drive to get to). And that's why he is also the current coach for the Western Michigan University Equestrian Team. I completely recommend Robert and his stable - and if you have a child entering WMU who knows her way around horses and hunter seat - his equestrian team as well.

Thankfully, we had a lot of experience but another customer would have a hard, frustrating time handling that kayak. And there are some tricky sports to navigate in that section. If they could have a couple cables and a separate line for the true beginners it would make the price much more worth it, and us along with others I know would be more likely to visit many more times. Only one staff member was truly teaching my children how to actually ride, the other girl there was clearly not into the job and just kind of there. The kid that was helping was very impressive and I was thankful that two hours into being there, on their 3rd try that they finally got some sort of direction for their last two tries. Almost 3 hours of being there and kids only got 4 turns, that equated to them literally falling in the water until the other staff member took over. One of the kids in our group got injured and not one staff member asked if she was ok, truly a learning experience for staff to be a little more vigilant and at least pretend to care. Other than these things my kids had a blast and it is such a bummer to know they would not get enough turns to make the hour drive to this facility worth it to come back.

In the right light, you could do some serious photography here! The marker reads: "This steel Pratt through truss bridge was erected for Hastings Township in 1903. The township contracted with the Massillon Bridge Company of Massillon, Ohio, for $2,090, to fabricate and erect the steel bridge. In operation from 1869 to the 1930s, the firm was a leading producer of metal truss highway bridges throughout the lower Great Lakes region.
