Headed north from Idaho Falls to Deer Lodge MT. I pull over to take a break and discover that one…read moreof the Windows on my travel trailer had a soft ball size hole in it. Since it was tempered glass the whole window is shattered. It's a Saturday afternoon around 3:00 in middle of no where. We have a 3 week trip planned and I envision this window problem impacting our plans. Knowing that the window is tempered glass it would have to be special ordered and it normally would take 7 to 10 days. I proceed to Deer Lodge because that is where we have campground reservations. In Deer Lodge I stop at R&C Home Improvement hoping find something to temporally plug the hole. Within minutes I learn that they have acrylic sheeting or plexiglass in stock and that they also can cut this sheet to size. The owner worked on the window and determined that it would have to be pulled out from the trailer and disassembled to replace the glass. He spent approximately 1 1/2 hours working on the window at times being aided by his wife and another worker. He was successful in repairing the window and reinstalling it in my coach. Knowing the amount of work it took them to repair the window I was very concerned what the cost would be only to discover that they were only going to charge me a flat $25 for labor plus the cost of the plexiglass. I can not say enough positive for this family owned business. They were very friendly and helpful. They exceeded my expectations in every way allowing us to continue our trip uninterrupted. I highly recommend them. They are absolutely outstanding.

VERY disappointed with Carpet One. We have been customers for years, but they weren't willing to…read morework with us on an issue that we feel could have been easily resolved, had they been reasonable. We needed a (21 foot camper) kitchen & bathroom floor replaced. We went to the store, picked out a wood plank look vinyl flooring, & paid them $500 for the job, which was to include removal of the old vinyl, removing & replacing the toilet, & matching quarter round. The installer arrived, we went out to greet him, noticed the piece of vinyl he was about to install, & realized it had been cut to run in the wrong direction, that is, planks ran from side to side, rather than along the length of the camper. We let him know that was not what we wanted. He left to go back to the shop to discuss our dilemma with the boss. The desk employee called us back, let us know that they could accommodate us, but that it would cost $145 more! We didn't feel that we should be charged any more than our original $500, as we already felt that was on the high side, & that it was their mistake. A carpet store should know that in that application, the"grain" should run the length of the camper, not look like a zillion short boards across that aisle. We felt that if nothing else, they would have clarified how they intended to install it at the time of purchase, (since running a flooring store is their business, they probably have had this type of issue arise before.) So anyway, the owners called back, & gave us the option of paying the full amount, or cancelling the job alltogether & refunding our $500. Basically, they cut the piece of vinyl in the direction that suited them in order to avoid a remnant that they would have to try & sell later, with no consideration for our wishes. It was very obvious that they didn't care about our wishes, or keeping our business. Business must be very good for them to treat customers that way. So in the end, they lost a customer, & now have a remnant to sell...smart business tactic! We will never do business with Carpet One again!

However, after rough framing was…read morepartially complete I noted several issues (out of square/plumb framing, improper hanger, some materials and spacings not to plan, loose blocking, toe nailing issues, missed fasteners, etc.). Instead of correcting the issues I was given the run-around then communication ceased. We had to spend the next few weeks correcting the framing errors, stud spacings, and ripped out the improper subfloor section and also had to pay another framer to correct a portion of their work. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. Initial conversations led us to believe MHIP was excited to take on the work and would provide high-level craftsmanship. After voicing our concerns, it seems they decided it was more worth their time to move on to bigger and better things rather than correct their errors.
