The owner educated us and gave us peace of mind that our basement was great, especially given the age. He didn't try to sell us work that wasn't necessary. Their previous work was done in 2008 and still holds up and looks great. No basement leaking or foundation issues. Thanks for taking the time to follow-up. We will definitely use this business in the future and refer loved ones and friends!

We dealt with Andy, the owner of the business, on a deal to acquire some heavy equipment he was…read moreselling, an old loader that he wasn't using any longer. We communicated with him for a couple of weeks, test driving the machine, inspecting it closely, and asking a lot of questions about it. It had a lot of miles/hours on it, but we decided to purchase it fully aware and understanding the issues with it (leaky diesel tank, leaking air from the tires, yet the transmission was good). He was firm on his price, we felt he was being fair, and he spent a lot of time with us during the process. On the day the check we wrote to him was approved by his bank, he had us come by to pick up the loader to take it home. Andy assured us that the batteries in the unit were good. Trusting his communication, we drove it off his property over 1 mile away to meet the flatbed truck delivering the loader to our Milwaukee address, and when we arrived at the meeting point, we shut the loader off awaiting the driver's arrival. When the driver arrived, we proceeded to try and start the loader to drive it on the flatbed, but it would not start. After trying lots of different tricks, we couldn't get it started, and finally decided to drive a few miles to a farm supply store to purchase some batteries, which once installed, allowed the loader to fire right up! The batteries cost us an extra $275 + $150 for the driver's time just to get it home. When we followed up with Andy via his cell phone leaving him 3 messages over the course of the week that followed, he would NOT return our phone calls. Before he had our check for the loader, he was VERY responsive. But upon calling to ask him about the batteries and the additional $$$ he cost us, he wouldn't respond. We were hopeful he would be understanding and share the costs which inconvenienced us following his comments that the batteries were good. Not knowing Andy beyond this transaction, I question his desire to do the right thing, and thought others should know about it. Is this how he provides customer service to others?

I hired this business via Angi (formally Angie's List). They acted as the contractor in this…read moretransaction, with Refine Home Improvement as the sub contractor. Ramon Manka, the "pro" that was sent, arrived in a small passenger car, rather than a truck or van. He was accompanied by Ruby, his assistant? girlfriend? Ramon quickly realized he forgot a tool and went home to get it. Meaning that he was, for all intents and purposes, late. Once the job was underway, materials were needed, which was anticipated. I used Zelle to send money to Ramon's personal account and his professional account. Then, after about an hour, I had to go to the home improvement store myself because Ramon thought he didn't have enough money, and he didn't have room to transport the materials, since, again no truck or van. I paid out of pocket and Ramon never returned the money I had transferred to him. At midnight, the job wasn't finished. The next day, Ramon sent an invoice for his extra time. I ignored the invoice, at the advice of Angi, which again, was the contractor. So Ramon picked up his stuff and left. The job was not only unfinished, but poorly done. Ramon claimed that the job was taking longer than agreed to. This was true. It was agreed to for 3.5 hours, and it had been 7. Even subtracting an hour for shopping and an hour for added difficulty, Ramon still had been working for 90 minutes over what had been agreed upon, and still wasn't finished. And Angi still added $200 to the fee to cover the additional time. All-in-all, 1 star. I would not hire again. And I am considering legal action to recover the money transferred to him, which was not used for supplies.

Later we received a bill for $280 for installation. Seeing as this is a standard fee, we should have been informed of the cost before anyone came out to our house. Received very vague answers about the policy when I stopped in to inquire. No one cared enough to work something out with me. Just a shrug of the shoulders and somebody explaining to me how their products are superior. This is laughable when ours broke after 3 years. I expect this from a big box store, not a smaller company, which usually provide more personal and caring service. You got your money out of us, Sammons, but never again.

They answered our questions and were very responsive. Their service and communication was great. The floor system looks really nice - we love it and we've gotten a lot of compliments on it. Some perks about this type of flooring: (1) The stairs have a great no-slip texture. (2) It looks much better than a plain epoxy or paint finish and easily as nice as the carpet we had previously. (3) The flake flooring in our basement is much warmer than I expected; certainly warmer than the ceramic tile we have in the bathroom. (4) It's easy to take care of and the pattern in the flake doesn't show dust/dirt easily. (5) We quoted new carpet for other bedrooms in our house and that confirmed the pricing on the flake flooring system is reasonable, especially considering the durability of this flooring vs. carpet. We're very happy with the flooring and our experience with A & B was very positive.

From the initial walk through to the final touch ups, this company did an outstanding job. Let me give you a quick overview of how easy it was to work with these contractors. First, the initial sales person, Michael, was incredibly knowledgeable and able to see the vision we had for the first floor. He took a good number of photos and then met with other project managers at their office. From here, we met with an amazing designer, Halley. She answered every question I had and promised me she would guide me along the way. I had some ideas, and everything I forgot, she gently guided to a solution. I was able to pick everything from the exact sink and faucet, to backsplash and flooring. The amazing communication continued throughout the project using an app called buildertrend. We knew when the contractors were arriving for each step of the process. We were also able to ask questions through the app and received quick responses. I did have a couple of change orders, and even those were handled seamlessly. My project has been done now for about three months, and every day I love seeing the finished project.
