I used to be a huge fan of the FlyAway and recommended it to everyone. The cost was great and the bus was overall comfortable and quick. But something has changed in the last 2 years. The staff is rude, disrespectful and just plain miserable to interact with. The last 4-5 times I've tried to take the FlyAway from LAX back to Van Nuys the busses have been extremely late or the driver just passes the terminal. The very last time (2 weeks ago) I was lucky and got to the bus right as it pulled up, but the driver very rudely told me my bags were too heavy even though he picked one up and loaded it into the cargo area just fine. He then unloaded the bag and told me to leave. This was the final straw for me. I will never use this service again and will pay the extra cost for a taxi or Uber/Lyft. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for" My time is far more valuable than the savings from using this now dismal bus service. If you have time to waste and love dealing with rude and unprofessional staff, I highly recommend the FlyAway! read more

The bus driver was so incredibly rude, to every guest that got on the bus from LAX to van Nuys (12:40pm bus, 4/10/25). He snapped at everyone, forced people to use a credit card/debit card. I tried to use the app and he wouldn't let me, I explained that I needed a receipt because it's my company card. He said that "it wasn't his problem he's just the bus driver". I've used the flyaway about 100 times and have always been able to pay when you exit the bus at van Nuys terminal. This driver clearly hates his job because he projects his attitude on each flyaway customer he interacts with. He needs to be fired. read more

I don't even like being a passenger in a car. So this was a big step for me. But I decided to try Flyaway from Burbank several years ago. I have never driven to LAX since and never need a pick-up at LAX from a friend. I feel totally relaxed, Flyaward gets there quickly, their drivers and the staff at the Flyway are all polite. I've parked my car there on some trips and on others a quick Lyft to the Flyaway and I'm there. I recommend this to everyone. And the price, you can't beat it. read more

Called to get refund. We wasted for bus for 2/3 hours and the bus guy almost ran over slot of people he left without passengers and stopped at another stop while many people were running after it. Loved using this service to go to LAX from the valley. Buses actually leave 30 minutes past what the schedule says. Times listed on the schedule are times the buses arrive, but after you check in and check you bags for the bus, you actually end up leaving 30 minutes later so just be prepared. Facility is big and clean and there are restrooms and plenty of seats. You can get your ticket online or at the booth at the facility. read more

The LAX Flyaway VAN NUYS has been a complete nightmare. Besides the extra long wait times, the bus driver is like a super villain from a horror movie. Mr. Van Nuys is what we call him and his negative energy is always the same. You know it's him from the moment he pulls up as he's waving his hands belligerently for people to "get back" behind the line. Mind you, no one was in front of the line or even close. He jumps off the bus and begins to launch everyone's luggage yelling at anyone who looked like they were leaving it unattended. Once people were able to board he threw his leg up to block a young lady from entering the bus too soon. He even got in a screaming match with another woman over her luggage as he was loading causing a 30 minute delay. If miserable was a person it would be Mr. Van Nuys. Beware and travel at your own risk. read more

I love using this as my ground transport to/from LAX. The place itself is clean, presentable and plenty of parking. Once inside, they have seating available and clean restrooms. This is a great option for $9.75 one way. I came here on a busy day in July and was nervous that I would have to wait for another bus because there was a lot of people but luckily I didn't. They also have an app that makes it easy to scan and board the bus. They do a great job in dropping you off right in front of your terminal. I've never parked my car here but their rates are good: $6 per day. I recommend this as an alternative to having someone drive you to the brutal LAX airport. Coming back, it can take awhile to wait for the right Flyaway Bus to take you back (they have Flyaway busses for Union Station, for example). It will test your patience, so keep that in mind! Highly recommend using the FlyAway Bus. Excellent service, convenient, and affordable! Whether you are getting dropped off here, dropping someone off or parking here, it's straight forward and easy to navigate. I recommend it to my friends and family that come into town! I also recommend that you book your parking spot in advance and set up the app on your phone to buy your bus ticket. When it is time to board you stand in line with everyone with your ticket in your hand and only activate it when you are accepted in. They are pretty quick to get everyone boarded. Typically the bus won't be that full, but I also made sure to leave enough time for travel to LAX just in case one bus does get full. On the bus, I appreciate the amount of space. Definitely bigger, more leg space, and more comfortable than the economy airplane size. Went from Van Nuys to LAX and back a few times. The driver and the rest of the team at the station was professional, courteous and great at what they do. They know what they are doing. I had a great experience here - it was by far the most affordable option for long term parking overnight. I was able to schedule my parking day of, and was able to email and extend it with no problem. I was able to find a space in the covered garage which was nice. When I walked in, I was nervous I wouldn't get a spot because the line was so long, but they had plenty of space. You can pay for a ticket ahead of time or at the point of climbing on which was nice. I thought the ride was fine, it was quick, our driver was kind with clear communication. read more

Busses pass you with empty seats with the driving pouting to the back indicating another bus is coming only for him to then also pass with even more empty seats than riders.... They need a central point of boarding for all terminals because their current process is a mess. read more

Had to wait nearly 2 hours for a bus even though the schedule says it runs every 20 minutes after 10 PM. The customer service had no good response to the delays other than they are behind. If there was a better system and more buses this would be less of a problem. Perhaps with all of the complaints, a better system and control could be derived as to how many buses are operating at any given time. Perhaps keeping track of arrivals and departures could help gauge operations. Pretty sucky non operative operation otherwise with real no options or solutions. Overall an excellent option to avoid driving to pickup or drop off friends at the horrible LAX. No one ever says, I'd love to take you to LAX! Pay a few bucks and the extra time - your friends won't have a problem picking you up from the van nuys flyaway. However- I had one experience about a year ago, there was no buss pickups from van nuys from 1120pm-1am @ LAX. We and a few other families were at LAX waiting. Meanwhile, the union station buss came by every stop....Someone really screwed up. read more

We first chose to use the LAX FlyAway because we didn't want to lug a car seat with us, so this was the only option. And it turns out, we love it and have used the services several times now without any issues. The price is very reasonable and there's a safe and covered parking lot to park your car for $5 a day. We usually fly Southwest so there's an added bonus of being the first ones dropped off and the first one picked up when leaving LAX and you get dropped off at the terminal. It's great not having to deal with all of that 405 traffic!! read more

I have been using the Flyaway for 40 years and I use it all of the time however, a suggestion that I would make is when people are waiting for the bus. There should be a sign that says Line starts here because people just come out of the terminals and they just get in front of you I usually have my sister who's in a wheelchair and they all jump in front of us so I think it would be a good idea to say Line starts here thank you very much. I hope the next time I come to the airport and I'm waiting I do see a sign that says that happy new year and have a good day. One other thing I'd like to say is that Today two buses passed me but the Van Nuys stop trying to wait so long. It's really sad. I tried to call the dispatch number, but I could not get through to to see when the next bus was coming again, I had my sister with me in a wheelchair. The wife and I took the Nan Nuys Flyaway to LAX last week. The bus was 40 minutes late to the Van Nuys Station. We had the most disgruntled driver. He was talking to himself the entire time. Talking about hurting and beating and killing people the entire time. The scariest ride of our lives. The driver walked with a kane and took him forever to do anything. It was so bad that we were supposed to be dropped off at terminal 6 but elected to exit terminal 1 and walk. We've been using the flyaway forever but it has declined so much the past few years. Most workers are absolutely rude. Hit and miss. Take it at your own risk. However, our return trip from LAX to Van Nuys was pleasant and didn't have any issues. read more

I am a long time Fly-Away user. After flying into LAX twice this month, I will never use it again. The first trip, the bus driver tried to pass us up while waiting at our LAX terminal. After a little convincing, we got on. On the way home, we picked up another driver on the 405 freeway whose bus had broken down. It was great to listen to the drivers talk about how each bus has its issue and that they weren't surprised the bus which was broken down was overheating. The next trip, while waiting at 12 am at LAX, a driver drove right past terminal 1. We then got picked up at 12:45 by one of the most rude people I've ever met. Yelling at adult passengers like a school bus driver. Throwing bags into the cargo storage with no care. Not to mention he worked at a snails pace. Lesson learned, the fly away isn't what it used to be. I'll pay the extra money and park at the airport. read more

I chose "LAX Flyaway" because the idea traveling with a 1yr old, a teen and my wife for family trip during the end of year/holiday season seemed entirely too stressful than other alternatives. I paid in advance for 15 days of parking(cost less than $100) via their website. Also, I entered the the license plate of my car so as soon as I drove up to the gate it opened...no paperwork or ticket hassle. We purchased our bus (to LAX) tickets at the window inside the clean expansive station. Cost less than $30, for 3 adults, the 1yr old was free! Lol We lined up and told the driver the airline we were flying and boarded the bus. It's not luxurious but it's a bus. In general it was clean...the seats were a little high and lifting a baby car seat above the height of the seats ( with the baby in the car seat) was a challenge for my wife...but she's tough and got it done. When we returned to LAX from our trip we stood where we were supposed to and picked up the bus back to Van Nuys. We waited less than 10min...paid another $29 (for the trip from LAX) Getting to and from LAX isn't hassle free...particularly if you account for the crazy traffic during the holiday season. Also, if you park your car at nearby parking...you're (definitely) spending twice or three times as much (to park), and waiting longer for the shuttle...in my experience traveling on business...for me using Flyaway with my family was the most hassle free option, I would do it again in the same situation. read more

OMG...because I haven't been here in ages...I had no idea they even remodeled this whole place...so to my surprise, when we arrived, it is like WHOA! Yep, the last time we flew anywhere was 10 years ago, and I don't even remember when I was back here, until recently, and that is why I was shocked!! Back in the day, there was no indoor garage, no nice area to wait in, it was just a small iddy biddy place. So, yes, that is why I am giving this LAX FlyAway 5 stars. This place is such a headache saver for us who lives in the San Fernando Valley area or for people who just don't want the headache to drive on the South 405 to get to LAX. So the 5 stars is for the convenience and the bus is so clean, and they were so organized. On the way back, same thing...soooooooo organized. The bus driver was nice too...the cashier on the other hand was okay...she was just there to take the money...she wasn't mean or nice...just neutral...but I am not deducting a star for that, because, again...it saves the headache of driving far. Thank you LAX for having this here. Price is decent to park here. It is so nice, just to relax in the bus and you are prepare to take your trip and they drop you off in front of the terminal area, unless if there are construction going on or something like that. I was skeptical after reading the reviews, but a family member highly recommended. I do recommend downloading icon and purchase boarding tickets the day prior. Also, purchase parking pass a day prior. The day we arrived, we pulled up & the system read our license plate, greeted us, and the parking gate opened. Parked, and we went to stand in line at 4 am on a Tuesday. Bus arrived shortly afterwards and we arrived to LAX within maybe 30 minutes. Dropped off to our airline doors. Day we returned @ 1030 pm on Saturday, we walked out of airport and went to our flyaway pick-up destination. Easy. Bus arrived within 15 minutes. Boarded. Depending on the airline you exit from their might be a wait because the bus starts at Southwest and stops at each airline, and we notice international airlines extremely busy along with Jetblue and American airline. Our bus did fill up and people had to wait for next bus. However, the driver did notify the dispatcher bus is full and told dispatcher which airlines needed passengers to be picked up. We arrived back in Van Nuys within 30 minutes. Existed and received our luggage. Staff was friendly and plse tip (not expected but plse do) the driver who is also loading/unloading luggage. We went to our car loaded our carry-on and existed. Again gate greeted us and opened. Highly recommend using flyaway and prepay for parking including boarding. Boarding pass says inactive; you will need activate when your going to board the bus by clicking on it then board bus by scanning barcode. read more

Tried the flyaway bus to LAX for the first time. The ticketing process, parking, boarding and all were very streamlined and the facility is nice. But be prepared for rude people, like one pushing her seat all the way back. They need to set the limit to how far the seat can go. $9.75 to get you to LAX. Schedule didn't match what was posted but we made it there six minutes before boarding. Pay at a kiosk or at the ticket counter. You go into one of two lines: with luggages (to go under the bus for storage) or no luggage (like if you're an airport employee). Took about an hour to get to LAX with construction traffic. They drop you off right in front of where you would check in. Very friendly drivers. The traffic going in the opposite direction was at a standstill for a Saturday so take this transport to save the headache for whoever is dropping you off! read more
