Dr Limb's office is packed with outstanding staff. From the moment I got on the phone with the front desk to book an appointment I was made to feel comfortable. I was able to do all the new-patient paperwork online for both my children before the appointment; I was able to book a late (5pm) appointment on a weeknight; and I appreciated that they easily accommodated appointments for both kids close to when I called.
The experience AT the office was even more superlative. Doctor Limb came out into the waiting room to introduce himself to me and my children and to welcome us to his office. An assistant helped them to brush their teeth, showing them best practices with the familiar pink dye they use to show children where they might be missing. They laughed and joked and then were led back into the open office for their cleaning.
As a parent I was invited in the office as well. Dr Limb's is a large open space with giant windows onto Broadway and lots of light. There are four to five chairs each with their own monitor TV, and small sitting areas for parents close by. The open space put my kids at ease, they were near each other and mom and clearly didn't feel the apprehension they'd felt in other offices when being led off to a small empty cubicle. I had never seen a floor plan like this and so had never thought of its benefits--but once there it seemed like a natural, obvious layout.
Their individual cleanings and x-rays went fantastically well. The hygienist was gentle, kind, and let them know what she was doing at every step. Dr Limb is light-hearted and engaging with the children--in a sincere and sweet way.
We decided to return a couple of weeks later for some slightly more in-depth procedures. My son's two front bottom baby teeth needed to be extracted since his adult ones had grown in well behind them and after weeks the baby teeth weren't in the slightest bit loose. Both kids also needed sealants.
The impending extraction had me anxious. Intellectually I knew it was routine, but I was worried my son would "freak out". (I had read and heard about kids having to be held down etc.) Dr Limb and his staff made the whole visit incredibly easy and worry-free. Again the open-ness of the office floor plan really helped. Dr Limb walked me through everything, and more importantly my son through it all. He kept chatting with him, and checking in. I don't think my son really knew what had transpired. He never mentioned to me later that he'd even gotten any shots. I am not sure he knows he did. He sat down in the chair, watched The Power Rangers, smelled some strawberry nitrous oxide, and was done.
He's been great since, and had no pain after the Novocain wore off. We didn't even have to give him any pain relievers.
Many thanks to Dr Limb, many thanks to his office staff and his hygienists. It's a great team. We give our highest recommendation. read more
