I hired STACKED DECK early last November to replace 3 wooden fence posts at my home. The work was done timely and seemed satisfactory at the time. A strange thing was that I had to pay for the materials the day I accepted the bid. The contractor-a Mr. Marc Whatley- immediately went to my local bank to cash that check so he could buy the materials. The same thing happened at the completion of the job when I made the final payment-he immediately went to my bank to cash that check as well. I surmise he most likely is operating job to job with very little operating capital or credit. I informed Mr. Whatley prior to beginning the work that I had a sprinkler irrigation system in my lawn and had flagged the sprinkler heads for them and asked them to be careful. I learned this spring when my sprinkler system was turned on that he had broken off a sprinkler head by one of the posts. He had not informed me of this damage and the parts were not left but apparently hidden and disposed of by him. I had this repaired at a cost of $95 to me. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact this company four times in the past month and have gotten no return call or communication from them. The phone number listed is answered and I have left voice messages and texts but no response. Stacked Deck and Mr. Marc Whatley continue to advertise in the LJWorld. Only a phone number is listed. The ad says he is insured. ?? I have asked to be reimbursed for the repair bill the I incurred due to his error. No response.
