0 Stars My horrid…read morehorrible experience with the a-team who, in my opinion (IMO), does not live up to their name unless a= amateurs. In summary, I had a porch redone and they: 1. put in tongue and groove porch decking with screws like a patio deck, 2. left up to ¼ inch gaps between the tongue and groove on nearly half the porch, 3. left an inch visible gap next to a column on the porch deck, 4. took three times coming back to put the railing on straight, 5. and, overbilled needed "additional work" and tried to gaslight me into agreeing I got a good deal. Do you want details? Keep reading. After talking me up on their quality of work I decided to pay for a porch replacement for my house. I felt good; the price was on the high side but I really wanted a quality job. After doing the tear out, the project lead told me they needed to do additional structural work under the porch. He gave a tear out and rebuild or repair option. In my opinion (IMO), he was clearly disappointed when I didn't agree to just have them replace the entire structure underneath the porch (for a hefty bid increase). The additional work needed was setting 3 new joists next to existing joists, adding 8 joist hangers to existing joists, and adding cripples to the center joist. Nothing had to be torn out or separately supported beyond what was already needed to replace the porch rim. The project manager bid that this work was going to take 2 carpenters a half a day's work was completely outrageous. When I complained that the additional work he was proposing was "Price Gouging" and did not represent the work being proposed, he agreed it might be overbid and said he would have his workers specifically track time on the additional work. I agreed this was an equitable way to track the needed additional work. When the job was done and final inspection was offered, several problems stood out. 1. the bottom stair was half missing, 2. the railings were several inches out of level and square, 3. the railings were cut off square to the round columns rather than wrapping around as they had been before and 4. the worst... the tongue and groove decking was put down with screws and spaces like patio decking (¼ inch spaces on one end) I complained and they came back... and complained and they came back... and complained and they came back. After three times back to the house to improve the quality of work, the decking was still fubar'd but the railing was straight. (1/4 inch gaps in the tongue and groove, 1 inch gap between the flooring and a column, tongue and groove not cut off on the ends, and, of course, all the screw heads in the flooring. IMO, very sloppy). They then quit responding to me. Definitely Not the Quality I Hoped For. When such obvious errors and shortcuts can be seen on a job as simple as a porch column repair and flooring replacement, one wonders what shortcuts and problems are hidden inside bigger jobs...the pics they take don't point out these flaws and IMO, gave me a false sense of knowing what was happening with the repair work since I could not be on site. On the billing, it was the full amount for the extra work with no explanation. After dodging my calls for a few days, the project lead responded and tried to BS me by saying his team really spent a half day on that part of the job despite not having tracked it as promised. He then highly embellished the work that needed to be done by calling out tasks that were part of the original work and claiming they had to be done for the additional work request. When I knew enough about construction repair to challenge his claims, he backed off. He then changed tactics and went on to say the overcharge was really due to underestimating how much time it took his team to repair the porch columns from the original bid. He said that everything really balanced out because of that extra work and "I was really getting a good deal". l told him I thought it was bill charging shenanigans and price gouging. When the owner was confronted, he claimed it was unreasonable to expect a crew to accurately document time on a task despite his foreman saying they would. Buyer be warned... If you want a team who will follow through on what they promise and will do the job right, keep looking. IMO steer clear of the a-team when looking to make home repairs and upgrades; I will be for my next home repair and restoration project.

My house in Lawrence was in need of new siding. Based on recommendations from friends, I chose…read moreA-Team for the work. The quote was accurate, they used excellent materials (selected from a set of recommendations in the quote), and they did a great job. I have never seen a group of people work harder than A-Team. They worked through Covid with only a few days missed when someone was out and they were not able to fill in with someone from another project. There were daily updates on progress and they cleaned up the site every evening before they left. I found everyone from the office staff to the construction professionals to be knowledgeable and very well-informed. Their prices were very reasonable too. I am very happy with their work and would choose A-Team again for any project in the future.

While the quality of the products is excellent, what has kept me coming back to them is their fantastic customer service. They come when they say the will, and everything they installed has been absolutely perfect. I have used several contractors over past few years whose work has ranged from awful to acceptable and it is so refreshing to work with a company where everything is just done right. Windows and doors are big investments and I am glad that I went with these guys for my purchases.

The paint on the out of the door and the inside matched and everything was seamless. The cost seemed very fair for the quality that we needed in an exterior door. Now, the company is not the fastest so if you are looking to do a quick kick on your project you might find someone faster. Basically the cost of a better deal is dealing with their time schedule of when they can get to you. Since they provide quality at a reasonable price, call early and get started with a meeting and education of your options. We had Keven; he's nice, not pushy and but wants to fully understand what you're looking to do. Happy customers, like us will be repeat customers.

By 6 o'clock, Korby was in my driveway assessing the damage and putting a plan together. After that, he was absolutely relentless about holding our insurance provider accountable for the replacement of the entire roof no matter how long they stalled and tried to skate on their obligations. Once the selling phase began, he added value by suggesting various different products and approaches we could take as well as and upgrades and ongoing specials which helped us get the most longevity and aesthetics at a great price. Once the installation of the new roof began, he communicated and handled unexpected challenges, delays, and errors efficiently. He didn't disappear once the job was sold. Instead, he managed and delivered the project all the way to and through the final 1%. Gorilla Exteriors won't have to sell me the next set of projects as long as Korby is there. I've already got doors and windows on deck with them and several more projects in the hole.

Squeegee Squad cleaned our windows for the 3rd time in 5 years. Although we were very pleased with…read moretheir work the first 2 times, this experience was very disappointing. Two men came to our house to clean windows both inside and outside. They rushed because 1 worker had an appointment. They used their squeegee to quickly swipe the windows clean, but did not wipe the corners and window edges for greater detail. All of the windows showed smears at the very edges and corners. A quick detail wipe with a cloth would have wiped away those smears in less than a second on each window. Like detailing a car. The major disappointment was how they reinstalled the screens on each window. Seven screens were installed upside down or on the wrong windows. Two other screens were not cleaned or reinstalled. To explain, each window has two screens. One screen slides into a track on the other screen. The track holds both screens in place. The worker placed the screen with the track upside down on the window, so the track was in the wrong place for the second screen to slide into. The worker left the second window screen not secured and barely hanging in place. A simple breeze could have blown the improperly placed screen off the window, possibly damaging it from the fall to the ground. Four of the screens were for 2 upstairs windows. Two screens were on a ground floor window. We don't have a 2 story ladder, so we had to replace the upstairs screens in their proper locations by hanging out of the opened windows. We removed the misplaced screens leaning out of the open windows. Placed them properly. Then slide the correct screen onto the track, hanging onto each screen, hoping that it didn't drop 20 feet to the ground. Six screens removed and replaced. Another large screen on the first floor was placed upside down. The workers HAD to SEE that they installed the screens incorrectly, but did they bother to tell us? The screens were hanging from the corners of the windows with large gaps of several inches between the screen and the bottom of the windows. Two screens on our basement windows were not reinstalled at all ~ not cleaned either. They were just left on the floor inside the house. When I left a message on their answering machine that the windows should have had additional details and that screens were improperly installed, I received a scolding message that I should have left them for the workers to install properly probably on the following day. The screens on the upstairs windows could have blown off that evening and been damaged by the fall. I didn't need the scolding. Squeegee Squad gave a $25 discount, but may have lost a customer.
