I…read morewas in San Francisco for a conference and was in a desperate way because of the pain I was experiencing. After arriving in San Francisco and during a visit with a cousin, he suggested that I go for "one more" consultation with a surgeon. Fortunately, Dr. Cobbs had time to see me on April 30, 2013. In short, he took the most amazing care of me. For months and months I had suffered with unrelenting back and leg pain. I had seen many doctors, all of them quite able, but had received so many mixed and conflicting diagnoses and treatment plans that I was truly confused. In some ways, I do not think that the doctors themselves knew how to proceed with my tricky and complicated problem. Well, when I saw Dr. Cobbs he immediately diagnosed my problem (synovial cyst on the spine which was pressing on the nerve root) which was followed by surgery to remove the cyst that day. When I woke up from the surgery the pain was gone. I could have just cartwheeled down the hall of the hospital. Yes, the surgery was successful but that only tells part of the story. Dr. Cobbs' diagnostic skills were superb, his interpersonal skills were outstanding, and his post-operative care was second to none. He recognized that I was a bit nervous to have surgery by someone I had just met but he inspired confidence and explained the problem and surgical procedure in the most gentle and accessible terms. I am now back in Toronto (my home) and cannot fully express my gratitude to Dr. Cobbs and his team. His admin staff were gentle, informative, and helpful. Thank you to the entire team for giving me back my life. If you are looking for an outstanding neurosurgeon with great interpersonal skills then book an appointment with him. You will find a surgeon who truly takes an interest in the personal well-being of his patients. Whatever their qualifications are to be seen, i'm not sure what else I needed. Hopefully getting seen by someone capable of helping you in the future isn't as difficult as getting into an Ivy League school. As for the quality of their service I can't say, but they could work on communication for sure.

I was told by another highly respected spinal surgeon that I could become paralyzed in both arms and not be able to feed myself soon because of the severe narrowing of my cervical spinal canal and I would need to undergo a posterior approach 4 level cervical fusion surgery which is extremely painful and difficult on the patient. He also stated that only a two level fusion could be done from an anterior approach. It took a couple of months to get a second opinion appointment with Dr. Oskouian but very well worth the wait. He did some additional tests and told me he could do a 3 level fusion from an anterior approach and this should help my current symptoms and prevent further deterioration. I decided to have Rod do the surgery and have been extremely happy with the results. I am 4 1/2 months out from surgery and doing amazingly well. A friend saw him a couple of years ago with a much less acute issue & he told her there was a chance it could resolve on it own without surgery and if she eventually did require surgery, she didn't need his skill level. She was very impressed. I am an example of someone who had a major spinal problem and he is the expert I needed!

He examined me thoroughly and found that I have a rare auto-immune disorder whic hattacks the nerves is mostly treated with steroids. Because he also has a degree in psychiatry he understood that I'm susceptible to mania from the steroids and recommended infusions instead. I use the Polyclinic's online messaging system whenever I have a question and he gets back to me right away even though it usually takes days to hear from my other practitioners. Special room in my heart for his very special right hand, Miss Katherine. She actually left her office to come visit with me during one of my infusions and I was so moved by how much she cares.... IF it wasn't for Dr Yang's thoroughness and knowledge I would still be suffering from the pain of neuropathy.

I needed a review and improvement of medications which he handled really well and got me a lot of improvement. My mother-in-law was not doing well and he determined the cause and put her on medication that returned her to much more her former self. He was really superb for both my simple and her complex issues. Being at the Polyclinic, he is able to share records with my other polyclinic doctors which makes me feel more secure that I am being treated for all areas of my health. The office downtown is really nice, the staff is helpful and I really trust Dr. Cooper. He trained at the Mayo Clinic in MN and it has one of the best neurology departments in the world, so he got really good training. And he is personable! Great bedside manner.

(As google will immediately tell you an alarming diagnosis!) I trust him with any further eye care I will need, and feel he's highly competent. You need a referral to get an appointment, and the wait time to get in, without an emergent case, is VERY long. His office staff is good- but the referral department loves to put off things, and can be a bit dismissive when you try to speed things up, even when your referring doctors both said it was necessary for me to be seen stat.

The second seemed too lax and wanted me to wait for two years for it to heal on its own. Dr. Primrose was my "just right" doctor! He suggested I wait a reasonable amount of time, and if it wasn't feeling better to come back for surgery. Dr. Primrose was very professional, didn't talk down to me, gave me all the information I needed and made me feel involved in all the decisions. The hospital staff really seemed to like him, out of earshot of him they praised his ability just before I went under anesthesia.

Sciatic pain can be so extreme that your whole life gets affected by it. I sincerely admire Dr. Primrose for his efficiency in dealing with his patience's needs in a very profesional way. My surgery was done at Virginia Mason in Seattle approximately 10 years ago. If I had to do it again, I would certainly look for Dr. Primrose to take care of me.

He was uncaring, flat and didn't show concern for my problem. Dr Bushnell had me in tears at the end of our visit by not smiling nor being empathetic to my problems for sleep even after I related to him I was diagnosed with PTSD. Just the coldest worst bedside manner I have ever experienced with a doctor.
