Unsecured counter tops, they talked us into laminate flooring because it would be durable & low maintenance. Not the case at all. The laminate was not only cut short along the corners but was not installed securely to where water was able to get under & cause damage. I had brand new cabinets put in that is now covered in mold & a new sub floor soaking wet & riddled with mold because at the time of installing everything they shoved they incompetently shoved the dishwasher in, secured it with screws (which means it has not been moved or touched since) which created a crack in the hose & has been leaking ever since. $12,000 & two years later I am back to where I started having to replace the flooring & possibly cabinets due to mold & this company will not be ever considered to do that work let alone any work. The worst part is, the main guy who is in charge or managing the job was a long term friend of my family & he totally scammed & took advantage of us going to him for help. Needless to say I am beyond unimpressed & heart broken that at this time I am reliving this nightmare in my home all over again. Lesson learned. P.s wouldn't let me up load photos to show destruction

At the time, the window size was bigger than what I had prior, and when he asked me how I like it, I said: It's bigger, I like it. What I had noticed after the job was complete and the dust settled.. he installed an Anderson window. It's over the kitchen sink, I had to drill 2 palm lifters myself, no idea how anyone opens an Anderson window. Its cheap and a tingy window when you tap on the glass. I hate that window. It's new construction and not easy to just swap it out with another. It's missing the upper grates in the window to match Every single window in the house. Why he didn't listen to the homeowner - who asked for a certain type of window (to match the rest of the house) .. is Beyond me. I honestly wished I never paid him for that window, he should have eaten the cost himself for that. It's been 10 yrs and I detest that window to this day. UGH

We contracted John to build an addition onto our 150 year-old house and to build a new detached…read moregarage. The work included three separate excavations and foundations and also included gutting and renovating an old kitchen. Prior to bringing John onboard, we worked with an architect to design all of the new construction and renovated space. Our architect had worked with John a number of times before so we thought we'd give him a shot at our job. John was easy to work with. His quote was detailed and allowed for us to make changes to better fit our budget. He was helpful with questions we had, like which materials were included and which we had to be responsible for (e.g. electrical, plumbing, insulation). Once we signed the paperwork, John quickly got things moving with the building permit and lining up subs, e.g. masons, and material deliveries. Throughout the project, there was steady progress nearly every day. We were never left wondering if someone was going to show up or not. John was good about communicating schedule updates. He brought in a helper when there was heavy work to do, like framing or installing windows and doors. Other times he worked solo, such as when doing interior trim work. He brought in subs (masons, roofers, drywallers) when it made sense to do so. He also handled a lot of the coordination of trades we were responsible for arranging, such as the sprayfoamers. He kept the work site clean and picked up at the end of each work day. It was a pleasure to see the detail in the work John did, particularly in two respects. First, he was very precise and paid close attention to dimensional accuracy. Things were square and plumb, and the fit of components like doors, windows, and especially trim work, were exceptional. Secondly, he built things strong! Where the building plans left room for interpretation, and where weird situations revealed themselves (not uncommon when marrying new construction to really old houses), John developed solutions that were clearly never going to fail and would last a lifetime. It was apparent that his approach to work was to build in quality and not take shortcuts that could compromise the end result for the customer. The lasting impression we have from working with John is he does very high quality work. He is straightforward to work with and he works very hard. He doesn't do things on the cheap and you get what you pay for with him. He's reliable and a pleasure to work with. We recommend him highly.

Found Jeff through Thumbtack and he was very responsive. Came over soon after - very personable, very responsible, professional. He explained everything he would be doing, to include taking before and after photos of the gutters so we could see the build up over time as well as the finished work. While cleaning the gutters, he found some blocks in a few places. Dirt/mud/crud overflowed the gutters and ran down the siding of the house - which he took pics of. Well, he then pressure washed our siding, and you couldn't even tell he had been there - no dirt, nothing. cleaned up after himself and did a wonderful job. this cost us thousands less if we were to do gutter cleaning once a year for the next 20 years vs installing those guards. Jeff also said that due to our property and how it was set up, gutter guards were not needed. I really felt good about getting our gutters cleaned, and knowing it was done correctly, to include washing the dirt off the house. i would TOTALLY recommend!!! give jeff a call!!!

Best advantage that this company has going for them is the following... yes you can hire them as a General Contractor to completely restore and remodel your property. BUT while most GCs wont touch the job themselves and you instead will have 17 different sub contractors. But with CJM we saw Chad, Joe and Brian virtually every day. Each specialized in many different areas, meaning the GUYS YOU HIRED TO REMODEL YOUR KITCHEN, BATH, RESURFACE YOUR HARDWOODS, DRYWALL AND FINISH YOUR BASEMENT AND BUILD A SWEET TWO TIER DECK OUT BACK...... ARE ALL THE SAME GUYS! THE CJM TEAM! Oh and the work is second to none (chad is a drywall master, joe is an electrical and plumbing genius, and brian refinished hardwoods like he does it daily). Without having to upcharge for commission from sub contractors, they can pass the SAVINGS through to us as customers and also there isnt that sub vs GC type of unaccountability. Even in the two areas that they did sub out the work (siding and some carpeting) the carpeting guy, Jason, acted just like a CJM team member, praised them and never tried to go behind their back. Showing an very solid cohesive existing relationship there. The siding guy was also a family friend they had known for years and any issues we did have with them, we passed to Chad joe or brian and it was quickly handled and everything went the way it was supposed to. I couldn't be happier with these guys. Last thing, not once did they try to nickle and dime me and on more than a couple occasions Chad actually came to me at progress payment time with "good news" and explained how he was able to drop the price due to something that had happened. He always passes savings thru, while 99% of others do not!.
