TL / DR - Stay away from this lawn care service. They sprayed herbicide on my 2 week old sod, argued when I told them not to, and then did it anyway. That's what they have in the tank so that's what they'll do. Check with any other lawn care company and they will tell you how bad it is to do that. Plus, they didn't spray fungicide on my new sod, something I specifically asked for when I signed up and when I followed up prior to the service. In fact I sent them a reminder, no herbicide, only fungicide reminder in writing prior to service, to which they replied that they would make sure it's communicated. I also discussed these with the sales guy and office staff prior to coming out. They said the same thing every other lawn care company says, No herbicide on sod less than 3-4 weeks old, longer if possible. Net is, they sprayed herbicide on my new sod which immediately started dying. I called them, they sent out the tech that said it was fine to put herbicide on my 2 week old sod and he said I had a fungus infection. I guess he thought that it was better to say that than admit they did the wrong thing. He put something on my lawn (water for all I know) and before he pulled away from my house I got an email from Lawn Doctor saying that since I have involved a lawyer they are discontinuing all service. I had a certified operator come out the next day from a company out of my service area (no conflict) and he confirmed, there's no fungus, it looks like herbicide burn. He strongly suggested I call the certified operator and talk about it, since this is definitely not applied per the label and he probably doesn't know. 3 attempts to get in touch with that person, no response. This is definitely not a company committed to helping your lawn look great. Just so I don't get the fake response from them trying to tell you they're good: 1) I signed up with the agreement of no Herbicide, I sent an email reminding them no herbicide 2 days ahead of the service, I followed up immediately after they applied herbicide saying that wasn't right. I called and emailed multiple times to talk about what to do with my lawn and get some help. I've asked for the specific chemicals used on my lawn and only have some (illegal I think). I have not sought a lawyer. I think I'll get my lawn to limp back after a few months. If you want to do business with these folks, take pictures, get everything in writing. Or, just don't use them. read more

Lawn Doctor literally ruined our yard that had been just about perfect for the 23 years that we owned the house. If we ever got a brown spot /noticed something brewing, we would immediately call our lawn service and it would taken care of and our grass would be flawless. In late September 2024 we noticed a small brown spot, we immediately called Lawn Doctor (which was recently sold to a new owner). A tech came out and treated it. The spot, however continued to grow. Called lawn Doctor again and another tech came out and diagnosed it as something different, and treated it...this kept happening. Each time, a different young tech who seemed new to the job came out. It's now been a year and they have 'replaced' parts of what use to be our impeccable St. Augustine with bad sod covered in weeds without prepping the area first. Now we literally have a yard of weeds. They kept saying they would fix it, but never did it correctly. We are now looking into legal action. Lawn Doctor literally RUINED our yard. Note that Lawn Doctor was owned by Frank. When owned by Frank, everything was good. Since the change in ownership, our experience became dismal and has left us with needing to kill off the lawn of weeds they have left us with and start over with prepping the ground and laying new sod. Staying with them and believing their promise to 'make it right' has been a costly and frustrating mistake. Now they are saying that 'our standards are too high' because we don't want the yard of weeds. Our neighbors have all asked us what happened to our yard....we just reply 'never use Lawn Doctor.' read more

Beware of this company. Tech noticed fungus in our yard and scheduled a follow up in two weeks. Never showed up. Came for next regular monthly visit and fungus has grown double in size. Company says there was a different tech in the 3 months previous that never notated a problem, and why had I not noticed the problem by walking around looking at the yard, and it was my fault for not reminding them to come back for the follow up visit and now they want to charge me to repair the area. Literally said I should have noticed the issue when the other tech FROM LAWN DOCTOR had not notated it in past months. How am I supposed to be diagnosing my lawn that I am paying them to take care of. They give a monthly paper with what owner needs to do. If I'm needing to diagnose it, what am I paying an expert for? They took no responsibility for their tech that no longer worked for them and blamed me for not diagnosing it. When asked to please cancel my service immediately so I could find a company that showed up and was capable of delivering what I was paying for, the lady hung up on me! read more

I cancelled my service 12/7/2024 there has been no improvement to my yard since signing up in late summer. They claim and have shown pictures of their service person providing the service. I was in my living room and never saw the person heard the person do anything. Tried calling no answer and no call back but I emailed and got a reply. I will not ever recommend this company to anyone and I will notify everyone in my neighborhood that has a Lawn doctor sign what my experience was. The first person I talked to is also going to cancel their contract. read more
