Smokers think that taking one step outside any door is enough to prevent the smoke from filling up a room, they don't truly understand how air circulation works as it gets sucked back in. I had to step outside, I tried waiting for my kid but all the air quality in there got horrible really quick. I would've taken my kid that precise moment but he was already sitting on the chair. My younger child and I had to step outside and wait if we wanted to breathe clean air. Not pleased with the Cantina vibe. At least get rid of the smoke. Not all of the visitors are smokers. I don't think I will be taking my kids back to this place. Maybe it's fine for older teenagers or smoker adults.

Upon entering his establishment, I was but a humble gentleman in desperate need of restoration. Yet, after being seated in his chair, I emerged a transformed man... my hair sculpted with such precision that I scarcely recognized the fellow staring back at me in the looking glass. Master Chris possesses a rare combination of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and good humor. His shears move with the confidence of a seasoned surgeon, whilst his clippers hum like a well-tuned engine. Not a single hair is spared from his meticulous judgment. I have visited many a barber in my travels, but I can proclaim without hesitation that Chris stands among the finest. Should one find themselves in need of a proper trim, a distinguished fade, or simply the restoration of one's dignity, I would recommend The Proper Barbershop without reservation. Perhaps I'm not as picky as some other reviewers I've read here; I keep my requests it at short, or regular, or trim, depending on what I need that day. And George does what I've asked every time. For me, a regular haircut lasts about six weeks. Also, George is extremely friendly. He and I chat about sports, travel (he goes down to Mexico a good deal), home repairs (he does a lot of his own, but I hire out). Lots of jokes. Price is reasonable. Haircuts take around half an hour. Although not posh, place is clean and brightly lit. Parking is almost always easily available, either on Fairfax or on the side street around the corner. General location is across the street from the new Whole Foods apartment building complex and the Grove; central to the Fairfax neighborhood. I always make an appointment to be sure I get taken care of and none of them has been missed by this shop.
