I am the luckiest person on the planet to have met Fred! I was visiting Montreal from out of the…read morecountry and had rented a minivan from the airport. A couple of days before flying out, I sideswiped a hinged barrier on the highway, creating a superficial yet long (5+ meters) scrape from fender to fender on the rental van. Knowing that returning the van with that scrape would be an ongoing insurance nightmare, I took a chance and blindly called Fred, finding his number on iPhone maps. I explained my dilemma, and he immediately put my mind at ease. He took in the van the next day and worked on it while I walked to coffee at the neighboring mall. Less than 2 hours later, he called saying to come back. To my amazement, he'd completely buffed out the scrape and the van was absolutely pristine inside and out. What's more, the price he charged me was unbelievably reasonable. The icing on the cake is that Fred is an absolute gentleman. If I lived in Montreal, I would bring my car there all the time, not only because he provides such a good service but to get to see Fred!

WORST CAR WASH I'VE EVER BEEN TO. EVER…read more I never thought I'd write my first Yelp review about a car wash, but my experience today at Lave-Auto Elegant has made it necessary. I took my Ford F-150 here this afternoon after seeing their "$19.99 for Pickup Exterior / Exterior" advertisement from the street. Upon entering, I was asked if I'd like the "full-service" with shampooing and other fancy extras. I said "No thanks, I'd just like the $19.99 option," pointing to it on their very large and bold and concise price list on the wall. As they started to wash the truck, I asked if they could please open the hood and wash the engine. They said "Of course," and proceeded to do so. When everything was done and I went to pay, I was told that the cost was $50. Cleaning the engine, I was told, cost extra. $30.00 extra! Stunned and completely furious, I brought up this craziness up with the manager; the same guy I'd told, 10 minutes earlier, that I don't want to pay any more than $19.99. I'd asked him why this service, and its price, wasn't posted anywhere, and why they didn't tell me cleaning the engine would cost extra. SO MUCH EXTRA. His reply was a bumbling string of nonsense which I couldn't bear to pay attention to as I'd snapped into a delirious rage. I shouldn't have paid the $50 but I was so shocked at the rip-off I'd just been served that I wasn't thinking clearly. I really just wanted to leave and get as far away from the place as possible and never, ever go back. Don't go here. Don't get ripped off like me. Give your money to a business that deserves it.

Sure it looks OK, but did they touch up the stone chips? How about removing that bit of tar on the drivers door that's been there for three years? Nope... Joey does detailing the right way. You can get budgetary pricing from his website, but he actually inspects your vehicle before providing a quote. Every chip and scratch catches his attention and he tells you exactly what he needs to do to fix it properly. On top of that, he's not trying to up sell his services once you visit. In my case, I needed an intermediate detail and he actually recommended to NOT get the advanced treatment because the pearl white paint wouldn't benefit from the extra steps. How cool is that? It had been nearly 18…read moremonths, so i was giving them quite a challenge; in addition, I often store my bike in the hatchback, so I handed them some grease stain with which to deal. When I got there, the owner asked an additional 20$ for the optional seat shampooing. While the seats were not on the list of services provided, the surcharge should have been spelled out. Regardless, I took the option. When I picked up the car five hours later, it was unrecognizable. Any and all marks left by the bikes were gone. The car was spotless and dustless through and through, inside and out. I can't recommend them highly enough. They did the work cut- rate but took no measure of that whatsoever. And now, I'll be back to them next year and pay the full price.
