Great atmosphere and great staff. I am a foodie on ig @detroithalaleats and i enjoyed the food there. Everything was so good. Ill post pics of some of the delicious food that I got to enjoy. And the fact that they have a separate nonsmoking (hookah) section for the mommies is amazing. Definitely check it out.

Hookahs with grapefruit as the tobacco chamber. Very cool.

2.75 Stars Lava Java is an excellent choice for hookah enthusiasts and while I am not one myself, the 20+ people in my group were and pretty much swore by it - I was outnumbered 20-1. However the occasional drag I did take definitely raised some eyebrows regarding the taste - and of the unique way they would prepare these hookahs. There are flavors like the Chai Tea, Irish Peach, and Lava house special that were really quite unique and tasty. And what separates the preparation from others is the chamber where the tobacco is placed - instead of any other porcelain or metal chamber, they usually use either an actual grapefruit or orange, remove some of the pulp and stuff them with the tobacco. It definitely gives some of the fruitier combinations a stronger taste. As for the food and beverage - the tea is a joke. Just bags of Lipton and some mint leaves if you ask. Blah. The food is very weird - there is Mexican fajitas, there are pizzas, and there are some Middle Eastern dishes - these menus that are all over the place geographically should generally be avoided and none of the dishes coming out the kitchen were very convincing either. It is still a fantastic place for some hookah and especially the Arabic singers they bring in usually on Fridays and Saturdays for an extra $7 cover which isn't bad. Please guys - you are in the Middle East capital of the United States and should be serving some better f*cking TEA!

There lunch combo prices are affordable! I love the grilled chicken lavash wrap for 4.95. There is a Hookah lounge next door but i go to the Lava BISTRO next door. I pick up most the time but when I have time I enjoy the outdoor seating area.

    The owner great guy waly

Food to go from next door with an orange head hookah is a great relaxing night out. Couches are comfy also!

Love it! Everything taste great and the hookahs are amazing. I'm so happy I came here. Tons of places around Dearborn, but this exceeded my expectations. Great job.

The service was solid was the most friendliest, but she was very on point and on top of things I'll be honest is great. Their choice of furniture is really nice- everything matches and is built for comfort and convenience. Inside you'll see people eating, smoking hookah, playing dominos and backgammon, even studying! During the summer months, there's a breezy patio to enjoy. Indoors there are huge, beautiful screens and one mega screen, perfect for game and event watching. We were assisted by polite and well coordinated staff-- special shout out to the charcoal guy. Food was fresh and tasty. Excellent presentation and large portions. It is the definition of a lounge. I wish them every success and can't wait to come back during Ramadan where it should really get festive! Also, I can't believe the frozen mint lemonade hasn't gone viral. Imagine carnival lemonade, full of sweet and sour lemon flavor, but with the refreshing addition of ripe mint. Chef's kiss!
