History
Established in 1926.
Lausanne Collegiate School, originally named the Lausanne School for Girls, was founded in 1926 in Memphis, TN. In the 1970s, as schools such as Harvard College, the University of Notre Dame and Amherst were studying the benefits of co-ed campuses, Lausanne formed a Co-Ed Investigation Steering Committee. Lausanne graduated its first co-ed class in 1981. With the global vision of the founders of Lausanne, named after Lausanne, Switzerland, various curricula throughout Lausanne's history have included Montessori programs, international travel and a varied arts program. Since Lausanne's all-girls' boarding school days families from 65 countries have been attracted to the school. Lausanne became in International Baccalaureate World School in 2010. 100% of Lausanne graduates receive acceptance to 4-year accredited colleges and universities and attend a vast range of schools. Lausanne has held three different locations in Memphis, finally settling on 28 lakeside acres in East Mempis.
