Dr Duke is a wonderful dentist and her care is top notch. I had lost faith in the profession but Dr Duke has restored it. She is extremely thorough and knowledgeable. She takes time and listens to your concerns, she educates you on your oral health. Her office is easy to find and a wonderful experience from the time you enter until you leave. Dr Duke does sleep appliances which is an extra benefit. After I got the necessary work done it was time to get a night guard. After talking with her and describing my sleep issues she recommended an appliance to help. When I say she knocked it out of the park the first time, I mean it. Every time I visit Dr Duke, I am continuously impressed by her and her practice and staff. She is incredibly thorough and pays attention to detail. She is warm and easy to talk to and spends time with her patients. She really cares about education and oral health. When I first met her and found out that she treats children, I immediately made an appointment for her to see my daughter, despite the fact she just had a cleaning and full check up elsewhere. Dr Duke was wonderful with her and even found a major issue that had been previously overlooked and undiagnosed. She truly offers a holistic approach with modern and cutting edge technology, techniques and advances. Today I had a teeth cleaning and I have to say it was not only not uncomfortable and totally painless but ...dare I say... enjoyable? Almost like a spa for my mouth. They use a new machine for cleaning that is almost like pressure washing for your teeth. It not only cleans and polishes, but lifts away stains. I found Dr. Duke through a recommendation in a local mom group, and I'm so grateful I did. While she's not a pediatric dentist specifically, she treats patients of all ages--and I can honestly say she's been the best dental experience my kids (and I) have ever had. From the moment we walked into her office, the calming and beautiful space set the tone. Dr. Duke is incredibly thorough, kind, and most of all--respectful. She treated my children like people, not just "little kids," and that really stood out. During their cleanings, she made the appointment fun and informative for all of us. My kids felt seen, heard, and at ease. We used to go to a pediatric dentist full of toys and screens, but when I asked my kids if they'd prefer to go back there or stay with Dr. Duke, they chose her without hesitation. That says it all. I have been seeing Dr. Duke since I was a child. I couldn't have asked for a better dentist. Her and the entire staff (Alana, Chelsea, Noemi) care so much about my overall health, about me, and are very personable. They do a wonderful job with dental work, with great attention to detail that has sometimes lead to catching other health problems early before the symptoms are typically more noticeable, which I am very thankful for. My family and I started seeing Dr Duke March 2019. After a year of services, i can confidently recommend Dr. Duke, her staff, and referred colleagues. Firstly i had dental anxiety since i was a child. Most dentist never informed me of what was going on. Dr Duke and her staff explained procedures, accurateIy provide estimates (well in advance), and keep you up to date on the treatment plan. Mind you, after many MANY MANY years of not going to the dentist, my teeth were not in the best shape. Dr. Duke never criticize or chastised us for it. She's understanding and patient. They make sure I'm comfortable and read to receive services at ease. I also have a child who has high functioning autism. At first she didnt want to even sit on the chair to be seen. A year later, she's excited to see Dr. Duke and company when we tell her we have an appointment for her. She has sat in the office on her own without needing us to be there. Dr Duke, Chelsea, Noemi, and Justine made her feel so comfortable. Honestly, it's the best part of our visit. Also Dr. Duke has these big windows with a lovely garden. It puts us at ease seeing the flowers. She even let my child cut a flower from her garden. Lastly, my hubby has never been one for visiting the dentist. But we both have treatment plans together. I was recommended to come in for treatment for a mouth guard for my sleep apnea. I called to ask for an appointment and they said "I needed to come in for an initial consultation" which was $200 (which I had to ask how much this was). Just to be sure, I asked if this was covered by my insurance and this was met with "it all depends". I asked if they could check and provided my insurance info. The representative put me on hold and said they could not confirm this and that "part of the initial consultation was to check my insurance coverage". I double checked and asked if they could please check this before this consultation but they stood firm. I am sorry but this is backwards and not very user friendly and feels very bait and switch. Since then I have spoken to numerous places and they all informed me if I was covered or not without any "$200 initial consultation". The lady that I spoke to was very nice (which Is why the extra star) but was let down by poor administration. I highly recommend anyone going to this place double check their insurance to see what services are covered otherwise you might be out $200 for a general consulting fee. Better yet, find someone else who does not expect you to "roll the dice" to see if you are covered and can check your insurance before your initial (and expensive) visit. read more

Be aware of billing practices. I was a patient at this office and always made my payments on time. Last November I had work done paid what I was told I owe, today I find a collections on my credit report. Dr. Dukes office didn't notify me once that I had a balance owe. I am 4 minutes away from their office & was there the moment I found out to make the payment. Now my credit is ruin thanks to their billing practices and I have to spend hours faxing/mailing credit agencies to get the collection remove from my credit history. Dr Duke is amazing! I was a patient at BrightNow and I needed a sleep apena specialist. Dr. Duke was one of two and the closes. After the first appointment, I knew I would be a patient. Dr. Duke suggested that if I  have my tonsils removed, it could alleviate my sleep apena and other major health problems. So I went ahead and did it, I had nothing to loose. The first night after my healing process, I did a cartwheel out of bed! I had actually fallen into a deep sleep and felt it. I was so refreshed and energized. I feel like a new me. My mental health has improved and  I've lost weight. Had I not found Dr. Duke when I did, I would still be a angry, lazy, overweight zombie hopped up on caffeine just to make it through the day. The Ancients Greeks for centuries treated dentistry as a form of art which nowadays has been lost due to mistreatment, pain, discomfort, and other complex physical as well as mental nutters that kept many from going to the dentist ever again. I was scared of going to the dentist and having procedures done on me, even simple exams and cleanings felt like painful surgery. The last time I had a procedure done on me by another dentist, I came out of the office crying. Not only that the front office staff members Mocked to me on my way out. I never felt that I want to ever go to the dentist ever again! Enter Dr Duke. I was diagnosed with bad case of gum disease and needed my wisdom teeth pulled out, and both of these can yield a horrific dental experience. I have spoke to other dentist about my dental needs the only person that I really understood me was Dr. Duke! She really set down and treated me with the ultimate care! I had spoke to other dentists and they told me I needed gum therapy and deep cleanings, which terrified me to the point where i nearly fainted. Her communication with me is one of the art forms I came to expect. Nobody was willing to help me and I was ready to giveaway my teeth to the devils until my visit with her! She gently clean my teeth using her cool laser to zigzag through the nooks and crannies, and it was a cool experience watching all the bad stuff explode out of my mouth! The skill it takes to make it virtually painless is another art form! She also has friendly staff which will really make your experience worthwhile, like when her (then) hygienist Sherry cleaned my teeth and gums. Her personality was extraordinary and had a great sense of humor! At last, after the procedures, my guns are nice and healthy again! Dr Duke and the staff took the time to discuss my needs and checks up on me to make sure my teeth are nice and healthy. Dr Duke's is the best dentist office I have ever been to. Every single step of my treatment was thoroughly presented and discussed. Dr Duke made sure to explain my situation, the available treatment options, the rationale behind each of these and the related pros and cons. She is incredibly passionate, knowledgeable, prepared and up to date with the latest techniques and approaches. She is also very funny and I enjoy listening to her share her knowledge and passion. A thorough history was taken during my first visit. At the beginning of every following visit my lymph nodes were palpated and my oral cavity thoroughly checked for any sign of abnormal growth. These little details show what a great healthcare practitioner Dr Duke is: she cares about my overall health in the first place. The office is very cozy and welcoming. The staff made me feel comfortable at all times, they helped me plan my treatment although I had a busy and tight schedule. Full disclosure: I really, really dislike going to the dentist. I mean REALLY. As a result, I have not only neglected my dental health, but I have not taken my sons regularly either (hanging my head in shame). My son got a whopper of a toothache and of course I didn't know who to call. I am aware of a Facebook group, Positively Bellflower, and I like to look there to see recommendations for local services. I read very positive things about Dr. Duke there and then I of course checked Yelp and read more of the same. I called and they were very nice to agree to see my son that afternoon. Long story short, my son's mouth is in pretty sad shape and he needs some extended treatment. Dr. Duke, her hygienist, her assistant and her office staff have been nothing short of amazing. The are simply nice people to begin with, and I like the way they do business too. Part of the reason I don't like dentists (and optometrists, mechanics, etc) is the whole up selling thing - I can't express how uncomfortable that kind of thing is for me. I literally RUN when that happens. Well the only way I'm running in this case is back TO Dr. Duke! She genuinely seems to care about my son's dental health first and the money second. Some people put on a good act, but with her, the interest is sincere and the concern is real. Of course she should be paid for her service, and I received a printed sheet with the proposed treatment and how much it would cost, plus the expected amount my insurance would cover, all of which was clearly explained to me by the woman at the front desk. It's going to cost a fair amount, but it is manageable and, after all, kids cost money! I really feel lucky in finding Dr. Duke. It's wonderful to come in contact with someone who clearly loves her job and especially helping people. Despite my aversion to dentists, I must acknowledge the impact of both good and bad dental health, and she is a great explainer of the benefits and consequences of both. Also, I am further convinced she is the real deal because of the vibe in her office and the way her staff interacts with her and with us. They also really love their jobs - and no wonder: they must be proud to be associated with someone like Dr. Duke. I think if you are like me when it comes to the dentist you should give her a try. She takes my Life Style, Insurance and long term and short term concerns into her treatment recommendations. Rarely has her recommendations of treatment been the most expensive, but have been the best for me. Dr. Duke is my long term Dentist. Ok, I'm not someone who normally goes around discussing dentistry, at all, let alone Yelping or posting on FB about it, but these ladies deserve the shout out. I've only been coming here a few months but I can already tell that w/o a doubt, this is definitely the BEST dental office I've ever been to -- state of the art equipment, always gentle, and a super sweet staff. A couple months ago and merely by chance (the office is right near my house) I literally pulled my car over and walked in, no appointment, not even a phone call to inquire. I'm not usually THIS impulsive, but I had some loose dental work that needed attention ASAP. In spite of my unceremonious introduction, they graciously took me in without hesitation or any attitude at all. Within short order, I was being given an appointment, not weeks down the road, but in just a few days, to correct the problem. Since then, I've been back 3-4x for additional work and cleanings. Now dental work isn't something I typically look forward to, like at all... (does ANYONE!??)... because a) I wasn't given the best example as a child, never having had my teeth taken care of really, and b) because as an adult, I've had a lot of expensive yet mediocre and even painful experiences in the past . Given my history and that I still have some fairly involved problems to deal with, I'm very much at high-risk for putting off follow-up care. Since coming to see Dr. Duke however, that tune has definitely changed. The quality of the work is solid, you can tell she takes her job seriously and yet maintains a very congenial demeanor. Her staff are equally personable and professional. I appreciate that there was no hesitation to numb me particularly well and w/o 2nd-guessing me when I told her I have difficulty getting numb in a certain area she was going to work on. I also appreciate her willingness to explain exactly what she's doing, what she thinks ought to be done, what all the options are and considers costs as well. Lastly, even the hygienist will use numbing gel on your gums before starting her work if you prefer, which I do. Now that I've seen how calming, gentle and yet THOROUGH their office is, I don't mind making future appointments and KEEPING them! All their equipment is high quality/state-of-the art (lasers & errrythang! ;) ) even though she's been in that office (she owns the building actually) for years. I've been in some offices and everything from the chairs, to the equipment itself just felt dated which doesn't inspire much confidence at all. I mean, if you don't care enough to take care of your own equipment that well, why should I trust you to take care of ME that well, you know!? Last but not least, aside from all the more germane aspects (equipment, competence, attitude, availability etc.), they have these really nice floor to ceiling windows in each of the exam rooms that overlook this adorably manicured lawn. There are even a couple little bird houses that seem to consistently attract a bunch of little birds who seem to enjoy splashing all around in the birdseed. It's a fun little distraction that has a way of adding to calm of it all. So long story short, this is an excellent yet comfortable dental office, and I'm VERY glad I found them. :) Oh one final thing, it's worth noting that they work with CareCredit which is basically like a credit card for dental work, you just have to apply and be approved which was done within minutes and has made tending to the more extensive issues I have much more feasible so I'm not having to put them off.
