My father had a massive stroke. He is unable to talk or walk but understands everything. After…read morebeing released from Presbyterian Hospital he needed a skilled nursing facility. I recommended St. Andrews because 15 years ago I worked there. The administrator was very picky about the care we gave. Unfortunately that is not the case any longer. The new administrator was informed of the 45 minute wait after my Dad hit the call button. My sister marked the pad that was put under him at 7pm. The next morning the same soiled pad was still under him at 8am. The speech therapist was wonderful. He sat with my Dad for 15 minutes trying to figure out why he was hysterical. By using the "picture boards" he determined a nurse had been abusive. We knew it was Helen. She was his Aide that day. We reported her several times for being rough with my Dad. Yelling at him to stand. he couldn't. He was there for therapy and she knew that. My sister brought Helen in the room and asked my Dad if she was the nurse who was mean. He shook his head yes then was crying again. The speech therapist was furious. He told my sister to report it to the Administrator. As usual it only made things worse on my Dad. The administrator and some of her staff treated us like garbage. Helen is still there most likely abusing people who cant speak. It is a beautiful facility. But I wouldn't let my dog stay there.

From our initial meeting with Jeanette to understand the move-in process to the detailed involvement of Cayla in assessing my mom's needs as she transitioned out of the hospital to the fantastic and attentive floor staff (nurses, aids, etc), it has been a great experience. We all feel fortunate to have such a great assisted living community in Morgantown so that my mom did not have to leave her hometown of over 50 years. Phil Belt

Foxdale has become a regular landmark in my life since 2014/2015 (I believe). I regularly drive in…read moreto visit my grandmother here and we are always welcomed with warm smiles and kind people. As far as I can tell and from what she has shared, she is well taken care of. They are attentive when needed and give space when they are not. They have also been very accommodating of our family gatherings, which we so appreciate. It was not until this past visit that I realized there was actually a pool here as well! I wish she had taken advantage of this when she was first admitted. The facility is always kept super clean and it is well maintained. The grounds are pristinely kept and there is plenty of "campus" to walk around and enjoy. They have a couple of options for choice in food, but there could be more variety for residents as well as family that come to visit. We often end up ordering in which is fine however if the dining services had more specialized food (different cuisines, zest, etc. ) we would be more apt to spend money in-house. They offer gatherings for residents which some seem to take part in and they are diligent about making residents aware with a monthly newsletter. It is a wonderful facility and the staff are lovely however there could be a greater effort to address social-emotional needs of residents such as loneliness, depression, end of life talk. Perhaps this could be incorporated if there was a stronger community-building effort amongst residents or even children and/or young people. The younger residents may have an easier time doing this on their own but for the older residents it would be helpful to incorporate more interaction perhaps with the outside world, or at the least a listening ear. Bringing that to the center at a deeper capacity could help improve and increase the good work that is done here. I trust they will continue to treat her well and assist her with her needs.
