For reference, I didn't have Ana clean my son's room - so my total house was around 2500 sq feet without his room, and 2.5 baths. I have a son and two cats. My house is overall clean, but the floors get dirty quickly. My house typically gets cleaned twice a month. Unfortunately this month my cleaner was not able to come, and so I booked Ana for a "deep clean." She said she would come and give me a price prior to cleaning and I agreed. Later she stated she told me the estimate was $800-900, however this is not true. If I had heard that price I would not have booked her services.
She arrived promptly the day of, walked through the house with me, and told me she would text the estimate. She did not text me, however, but I was prepared to pay triple or so what I typically would for a cleaning, so I didn't think there would be an issue.
During the walk through, she saw I had a collection of perfumes and bath soaps and candles. She said they would not be moving those to dust under them. I thought that was odd because my regular cleaner did that - but I brushed it off.
She asked if I wanted the windows cleaned. I knew there wasn't a ton of windows they could reach because my house is two stories. I said if they could reach them, then of course. My regular cleaner does some windows for me, so I didn't think much of the question.
She had three women clean, for a total of 3.5 hours (or 10.5 total). The women WORE SHOES ON THE CARPET, which I was shocked by as my regular cleaner uses the cheap disposable booties to keep my house from the extra filth of shoes. Myself and my family do not wear shoes on carpet, as Ana saw during the walk thru. As it was already done, I didn't say anything and let it go. When the cleaning was finished I laid down on my bed to sleep as I wasn't feeling great. Thirty minutes later, Ana just came into my house unannounced in order to check on the work. No knock or anything, just a woman yelling for me from downstairs while I was sleeping.
The house did look beautiful! She pointed out the "extras" they did - such as vacuuming the couches (my regular cleaner does that), cleaning two light fixtures in the kitchen (my regular cleaner does that every other month), the floor was clean (I expected it to be?), etc. Absolutely nothing special or beyond expectations for a "deep clean" in my opinion. However, like I said, the house did look good!
I thanked Ana for the work and she left, again without giving me a price, which was odd but she said she would text me. I am fairly sure she didn't give me the price in person because it was price-gouging at its finest. Ana Rosa charged me $1,450!!! What?!?
I was shocked but paid the bill promptly, and asked why the extra charge. She said it was for the windows, and she had told me it was estimated at $800 (that was not true, but okay - so $500+ for a few windows that were only cleaned on one side)? Ana was very defensive, even though I told her the house did look beautiful - it was the cost that was outrageous.
If I was going to pay $500+ for windows I would have definitely hired someone to do them inside and out. And if I was going to pay that much for cleaning I certainly would expect that every shelf would be cleaned properly, for the cleaners to not wear shoes on the carpet (gross), for the windows to be cleaned inside and out, etc etc.
Overall the service was good, not exceptional. The value is non-existent. I will not be using Ana's service again, and I believe her communication should be vastly improved. Two stars because the work was acceptable and because I should have done better at getting a price prior to the service.
