The place is well lit and clean. The service was quick. The place does seem to have some regulars that come in and out. My boyfriend and I got a Nutella waffle and original milk tea with tapioca. A little sad that the Nutella waffle didn't come with strawberries but does come with whip cream and your choice of (extensive) icecream. The waffle wasn't the fluffy kind but the more dense version. The Nutella was generous!!! The milk tea was average but still good. Next time I'll try their oolong milk tea for sure :) I'll definitely be back to try their crepes and different assorted desserts they have ! Parking is still somewhat of a hassle as free parking is limited.

One of Hamilton's best kept secrets, A&J Sugar Bowl is an off the map sweets parlor on the corner…read moreof MacNab and Cannon. Stepping into A&J Sugar Bowl, one instantly feels the overwhelming warmth brought in by colorful syrups on the shelf behind the counter and the wash of delight that waffle cones dotted with candies on display give you when you know you're about to take part in a guilty pleasure. The smell of toasted sugar brushes against your nose as you feel spoiled for choice. I first spotted A&J Sugar Bowl in the Winter and passed it many times on my way home from various destinations. I hadn't stepped foot in there until recently, Spring 2015. What I found delighted me to the core. Tables along one wall with a central table covered in board games, cartoons playing on the large flat screen of the parlor and an honest to goodness sweets counter displaying candies, ice cream flavors and a crepe stand. The little woman behind the counter with the soft voice and big smile, Nancy, added to the atmosphere. She was a little difficult to understand, being so soft spoken, but she understood exactly what I wanted when I ordered. The parlor has always been empty when I passed it, and it worried me, but considering that it was midnight and I only found it in the off season, It didn't bother me. I just wanted something chocolate related. I ordered a Nutella and banana crepe. It took about five minutes to make and was still toasty when it was served to me. I took a single bite and instantly asked, why is this place empty ever? From the taste to the atmosphere, A&J Sugar Bowl should be packed all the time. Then it dawned on me. It's in a part of downtown that isn't known for its good eats or entertainment. It's hidden away and it has no online presence. I urge all local Yelpers to hunt down Sugar Bowl and enjoy your favorite sweet here. Let's all make this place Hamilton's worst kept secret!

You still…read moreget the earthy matcha flavor, but the syrup added a subtle nuttiness without being too sweet. I also tried one of their cookies, and wow absolutely delicious. It had a piece of their Yahweh Nutella chocolate baked into it, and the mix of crunch from the chocolate with the soft yet firm cookie was perfect. Rich, flavorful, and just so well-balanced. 10/10 Honestly, I'm sad I don't live closer because I'd be tempted to grab one all the time. Not going to lie, these are premium-priced treats. Some of the chocolate bars are over $30, and the cookie I got was $6.50. But you can really taste the quality of the ingredients, so I'd say it's worth it. I also had the peanut butter cup brownie. To my surprise, it wasn't overly sweet or rich in chocolate flavor. The peanut butter itself was bold and flavorful, and the drizzle of chocolate on top was nice and rich. But I wish the brownie base had more depth and a richer chocolate texture to tie it all together. 7/10

I had to create a Yelp page for both the Sherway Gardens location and now the Square One location.....come on people, this place is awesome! I stopped at this location yesterday while wandering around the Square One mall. If you aren't familiar with this chain, it's basically a chocolate store that has a pretty good ice cream selection. I decided to get 2 scoops (mint chocolate chip and chocolate chip cookie dough) inside of a waffle cone with peanuts and a mint chocolate bar on the side (unneeded? yes. delicious? also yes) I was a big fan of both ice cream flavours as they were super creamy and super tasty. The candy bar was also pretty delicious as well (I at least waited an hour or so to eat it). I highly recommend checking out this Laura Secord location (or any of them really). You are guaranteed high quality ice cream and chocolate every time! Also: They put a peice of chocolate with the Laura Secord logo on the top of every cone!
