Heading down Michigan Avenue was a breeze at 1:00 a.m., but at this time of night, one has to be very careful in this part of Ypsilanti. This section of town has more than its fair share of drug dealers, prostitutes, and robbers. Thankfully, when I arrived there were several people inside making use of the facilities, so I knew I wouldn't have to wash alone. Thankfully, everything worked out just fine. I was able to wash my clothes, especially my dress shirts for the interview coming up in several hours. I will say that they posted that they were having an issue with their hot water lines so some of their machines were cold water only on the cycles but they were clearly labeled and had plenty of signs explaining what was going on and that they were working on it. We decided to check out the Suds King Coin Laundry, and it did the trick. It wasn't too busy, and it was easy to get a washer and dryer. They have a change machine so you can get quarters. There are relatively comfortable chairs you can sit in while you wait. If you're bored, it's located right next to a rather large shopping complex, so you can walk over to the Dollar Store or K-mart to do a bit of shopping while your laundry is drying.
