I was referred to Dr. Sheehen for treatment of a DVT clot and follow-up imaging to determine if my…read more(90 day) blood thinner treatment had been effective in eliminating my DVT clot in mid October, 8 weeks ago. To date my follow-up ultra sound has not been scheduled (8 weeks later)? When I inquired, I was informed that the schedulers are running behind with getting imaging appointments scheduled by several weeks! As a military veteran, I have been treated at Bethesda National Medical Center (were the Presidnet of the United States recieves medical care) in Washington, DC and various military and VA Hospitals across the country. I have NEVER had wait 8 weeks to get scheduled for an ultra sound, CT scan, x-tray, or PET scan. According to the Heartland Cardiology clerk I spoke to conveyed that its a routine occurrence and that its typical of Wichita cardiology offices for this time of year? A uncacceptable and cavalier excuse to give to a patient. Perhaps this is a human resource staffing issue? Its not rocket science to allocate additional personnel or hire new staff into the scheduling department to circumvent a backlog of 8 weeks or longer to get patients scheduled for imaging appointments. Extended delays could be life threatening for some patients. The explanation I was given for the excessive 8 week plus delay for my imaging scheduling defies logic and Heartland Cardiology MUST do better to address this issue. Its truly disappointing and I hope this dificency is addressed and corrected as soon as possible. UPDATE on 30 December 2025: It's now been 10 WEEKS and still not scheduled for my follow-up imaging appointment? I will definitely be speaking to my insurance provider no longer schedule any further appointments with Heatland Cardiology.

At my most recent previous appointment, I was placed in an exam room and waited alone for over 1.5 hours. I finally stepped out to ask if I had been forgotten. The staff told me, "that's just how Dr. Kshatriya works and she runs behind because she spends a lot of time with each patient." When she did arrive, I was seen for maybe 10 to 15 minutes. I understand that some doctors spend more time with patients, but if that's the case, the office should not schedule appointments so close together. Then last week the office called to say Dr. Kshatriya would be in a different location than where I was scheduled, so they needed to move my appointment. I didn't mind and rescheduled for two months later. However, on the original appointment date, I still received text and email reminders telling me to come in. When I called to confirm that the system showed my appointment had been moved, I was told I was listed for both appointments and that because I was calling on the same day, I would have to be marked as a missed appointment. Only after I pushed back did they offer to "leave a note." When I shared how frustrating the situation was, including my long wait during the previous appointment, I was again met with the same dismissive line that "that's just how Dr. Kshatriya works." If that truly is the case, then schedule realistically and respect your patients' time. The long waits, scheduling issues, and dismissive communication have made me consider taking my care elsewhere.
