I ended up getting stuck just outside of milltown in a ditch. I had no defrost my visibility was shot. Long story. I ended up getting towed to the shop and when I was waiting for the owner to show up I was more than a little worried. It has that whole backwater hick vibe. It's not the showroom atmosphere of a dealership service center. It's like the country garages for when I was a kid. The only thing missing was the odd playboy posted on the walls. Tom the owner is a down home kind of guy. The staff are all polite and helpful. If you ever break down in milltown don't panic. I had gone to a couple of other places to get estimates and everything. One place can't get parts for at least a week another place quotes a thousand bucks with out even looking. They're honest and they get the work done. That's all you need

It was my first title transfer ive done before, and the guy said "since theres 2 names on the title both people must be present. I grabbed my title and I said "Would have been nice if someone told me" he said "would have been nice if you fucking asked" as he followed me to my car. As i am getting in my car i say "great business you're running here" and he starts screaming insults at me calling me a "bitch" and telling me to get outta my car to fight him. At that point i said "im an adult and dont need to fight to feel tough" At that point i was upset that i was being insulted and threatened so i called him a "p****y b**ch" and drove away

A worker went to one of the cars and had them move off to the side for a top off. I drive up and wait. The van next to me was that had been there before me got upset for the lengthy wait and left. A white truck pulls in and visits with workers inside while they were working. He comes out and flags a new arriving car to the other bay. That guy got to go in with no wait what so ever. After 45 minutes of waiting and not getting greeted by an employee, I left. Great service at Victory Lane in North Branch as thats where i ended up going! I wont be back to this Valvoline. Forest Lake Valvoline is top notch in my experience for any Valvoline. Great management over there.

I was notified that VIOC doesn't service transmissions if they have over 160,000 miles, which is funny considering I brought my Malibu in for the same service two months prior with 229,000 miles at the time and they performed the service at the same location with no issues. Now the senior tech is at my window saying that Valvoline passed that rule a month and a half ago, (how convenient!) they also wouldn't do it for the safety of the transmission and for liability reasons- which I can understand. Whether or not he was lying, this rule isn't anywhere on their website and the customer service rep onsite said there was no limit on mileage. The only thing that makes Valvoline unique from other shops is you get in line- no appointment, no borrowing cars, relatively quick, stress free and you're ready to go. Cambridge VIOC needs to remember that they are catering to people who 1. Don't really care about the vehicle (otherwise it would be serviced by John Hirsch's or another dealer!) 2. Don't have time to book an appointment and wait around for that day to come. That's not practical for most people. 3. If the review so far hasn't shown my thoughts, just have me fill out a liability waiver. I would have gladly done so rather than having to hear his cheap excuses for why they cannot perform that service.
