I received a text saying he had no appointments available....that's it. No "hey I'm booked solid until insert date, but I could squeeze you in as early as insert date." responded with a follow up asking just that and received no response. The barber stated that he would be there at 9:00 a.m. I arrived at approximately 9:10 a.m.; however, he did not arrive until around 9:40 a.m. Upon arriving, he chose to spend additional time casually greeting and conversing with coworkers before acknowledging me. When he finally approached, I greeted him and asked whether I was the only customer at that moment. Since he only accepts walk-ins, this was a reasonable and appropriate question. His response was openly dismissive and disrespectful. He stated, "Don't start asking all them questions. I just got here. I'm too old for all that." Considering he was already significantly late, this response was completely unprofessional and unwarranted. It was a very humiliating experience. I replied "okay" and remained seated briefly. I then made the decision to leave. I will not pay for a service where basic professionalism, courtesy, and respect for a customer's time are clearly lacking. There was no excuse for the behavior displayed, and the situation could have been handled with minimal effort and basic decorum. Management should address this matter directly. Professionalism and customer service are non-negotiable in a client-facing business. I will not return.
