I just recently used Kelly at Simply Southern to plan my sister's birthday party back in September…read more I was referred to Kelly by a friend and I was more than pleased with her services. I have never had someone coordinate an event for me and what a difference it made. She had the most perfect party and I had very minimal stress. Kelly dealt with everything and the outcome was amazing. I am currently using her again to plan my company Christmas party and what smooth sailing this has been. I am very confident in the fact that this party will go off without a glitch. I trust Kelly and Simply Southern full heatedly. I recommend them to all my clients and hope that I can send them much business in the future. I've even featured Simply Southern on my website.

I saw that Tomahawks was doing a deal on Valentine's Day for a % off if you booked online, so I did just that! When we got there, it was pretty packed. We check in in, ordered a drink and got to meet the friendly staff people that would end up taking care of us for our hour-long journey. We got in a short how-to lesson and then got right to work with our 'partners' (you somewhat share a lane with another couple unless you came with 4 people). I somehow never really caught on to how to throw axes very well, but everyone around me seemed to pick it up pretty seamlessly. We still had tons of fun even though I sucked at it. It was also very satisfying when I finally scored the occasional target! By the time an hour is up, you're pretty exhausted but also happy with your handiwork. My fiancée has been back for their 'throw and bro' Thursday's, where it only costs the guys $20 to throw on Thursday's.

Overall, we had a lot of fun smashing things, and had to purchase many other items to smash as one crate was not enough for our hearts desire!

Tip for my Tallahassee foodie friends. Get thee to Simply Entertaining on Market Street and try…read moretheir Salmon Spread (but call first and make sure they have it). SE is a kitchen supply and gourmet food shop that provides grab-and-go meals on Wednesdays (must call ahead) and an array of prepared salads, soups and other delectables. They also are one of Tally's best caterers. Tonight, I tried for the first time SE's Salmon Spread - and it was the best I've tasted ... anywhere, ever. My wife advised that it's not a regular offering; that's it's usually made when there's some leftover salmon from other preparations (in tonight's case, from yesterday's Grilled Salmon grab-and-go dinners). This is a grave error; it should be a regular fixture in their display cooler. This spread should be a destination for salmon, not a detour. I've always thought SE's amazing cookies were the star of their show. They must now take a supporting role to this amazing Salmon Spread.

I called Lewiswood just 5 months before the wedding because my original venue was still closed. Debra emailed me back the same day I contacted her and got me in that week to view the venue. I fell in love and signed the next day! Debra was fantastic on making sure everything was on time and as planned. She answered my countless emails and phone calls. The Barn is absolutely magical for the reception. The waterfall where we had the ceremony was breathtaking. I continue to get comments on how beautiful the wedding, venue, and waterfall were. Debra helped bring this 3 year wait of our special day to life, FINALLY. Thank you Lewiswood!

Al of this week I have been in work interviews with candidates that have gone over the lunch hour…read more However, my employer hired Social Catering and Events to provide a catered, hot lunch each day and I have been quite impressed. While I am sure that they build the meal to the budget and event type, each day has brought a delicious hot entree (for example, today was a fantastic vegetarian spinach and cheese pasta roll), a salad (the watermelon and arugula salad was pretty darn tasty), sometimes a side (if you have the cornbread, you MUST use the flavored butter spread), and always a great dessert (homemade chocolate chip cookies with crumbled bacon....need I say more?). Angela (on of the partners) and her team have been really attentive, including remembering the drink selections of those of us on the interview committee and bringing them out to us when we arrive. And they have been respectful of the meeting environment, including quickly and unobtrusively clearing things away while we meet with the candidates (or, today, silently serving individual warm bread puddings right after lunch was cleared). And the set-up of the serving platters and drinks is top notch. One of the things that they specialize in, and like to do, is catered parties in peoples homes. They will be the first caterer I call should the opportunity arise. You can't go wrong. Contact is info@socialcateringandevents.com

Their team arrived right on time and they were courteous and helpful from start-to-finish. The (incredibly delicious) food was prepared and arranged beautifully right on time, and they were flexible to bring everything out as we needed it.
