We've only been there twice so far this season and already there's a difference in their sandwiches since MSM took over the sandwiches are 1/3 of the size they use to be, the bread their using for their subs is not even close to what it was before and the prices are crazy, You didn't mind so much when you were getting a good size sandwich but now forget it. Classic down-the-shore Jersey small grocery and deli. Leans Italian, of course -- it's New Jersey! Great salads, prepared foods, fresh fruit and veggies, good bread, bagels, rolls. Great spot to stop and get some stuff for lunch or dinner when down the shore. They have Boar's Head cold cuts and a good selection of pasta salads, prepared foods and meat. They offer sausage, steaks, chicken, burgers and anything else you may want. Last visit we got a Flank Steak and grilled it up when we got home. It was delicious. They also have odds and ends like chips, bread, vegetables, some frozen items, etc. if you need some essentials. I have been going to Lasola's since they opened years ago. it is convenient and the food is fresh. I bought some frozen chicken patties along with burgers and sausage Patties. I never made them before and had no idea they needed to be cooked frozen. They turned to mush when I defrosted them. I brought them back and the owner dismissed me like I was an idiot for not knowing that chicken patties need to be cooked frozen. A new package would have been good customer service. I had such a disappointing experience there this morning. I went in with my 2 and 1/2-year-old son in his stroller and I was looking at the strawberries. I selected a package and placed it on the stroller where my son then knocked it into his stroller where it opened. I place the package on the shelf to reseal it and put it back in my basket and the manager or someone who works there huffed and shrugged and carried on at me and I said sorry, I'm just closing it I am buying them and then he snapped at me that the packages are not supposed to be open. I was so embarrassed and astonished because I was planning to purchase the item, I wasn't putting them back, nothing fell on the floor or anything. And I kindly explain this to him. At this point I decided to just leave the item and leave the store where another woman behind the coffee pastry counter snapped at me that she saw me hand the item to my son. To which I replied this is the most ridiculous experience I've ever had I will make sure not to come back and to which they both replied good. I could understand if I had selected different strawberries from different packages and you're not supposed to do that but all I was trying to do was reseal the package that I was planning on buying I have no idea why two people in the store decided be so rude to me. read more

The food is always fresh and five-star. Service is professional. The butcher counter is always stocked and meat is always top shelf ...definitely a place to go to when you are on the Jersey shore, great service, delicious food, and very conveniently located. read more

Walked in to pick up some meats and cheeses for Labor Day as it is the only market on the island. The selection was nothing short of 7-Eleven quality with ridiculous prices. We were already upset before we even checked out. For reference, we walked out of the store with 5 small items totaling $65. We walked to the car and was told by our family we no longer needed the items for the board so we turned right around before I could unlock my car and asked to exchange/return the items the cashier was nothing short of rude and unprofessional as she shrugged her head and murmured under her breath and went and got the arrogant slob owner who told me once I exit the store even though I was still on the premises, I could not exchange even though the products were off the shelf 7-Eleven quality that can easily be put back into place. " I cannot and will not accept a return as you stepped out of my store" On a holiday weekend at The Jersey shore the service was incredibly unprofessional and the food was horrible. Go to Midshore Meats where you can get fresh quality Italian products for half the price with good happy people. read more

I've visited Lasolas market numerous times and every single time I noticed negative attitudes and hostility from every employee every time. If you order a sandwich and ask for it to be made a certain way or be made with extra sauce- expect to be given a dirty look, roll eyes at you and announce the issue out loud for everyone in the store to hear. Location, Location, Location. That's what Lasolas offers and that's where it stops. Don't expect reasonable prices because they're not on the menu. Don't expect courteous service because no one there appears to love their jobs or appreciate the customers that pay their salaries. While vacationers might consider this to be acceptable allowing for the pandemic. this has been the the case here even years prior to COVID. As for the food, from pizza to bread, to ready made offerings, salads, sides and more, the food is average at best. All at a price that's synonymous with gouging. Unfortunately, this area isn't conducive to competitive startups so Lasolas carries on. Me? I would rather drive to PT Pleasant, Brick or even Toms River where you can get much better even if the prices are comparable. I can get lousy food and bad attitude at far cheaper cost most anywhere. Sandwich was below average. Sandwiches are easy to make but hard to make well. It takes the perfect mix of ingredients and the proper proportions. This place did not have either. I ordered a turkey and cheese with lettuce tomato mayo oil vinegar and the sandwich was dry and lacked flavor. The proportion of meat, cheese, condiments just was not there compared to other places i have been. The market looked like it had a lot of different options so i can only rate the sandwiches but they were not up to par for me. read more

Found eveything I needed from excellent prepared meals to the ingredients to make my own meal. (try the bacon burger - you won't be disappointed) Good general store, well stocked in the items you need to enjoy the beach from soap to suntan lotion to breakfast cereal to bread crumbs to fresh hot pizza to hot coffee to all the daily papers. Opens at 7, but worth the wait as the bakery items are fresh and excellent. We have spent a ton of money at this place over the last 10+ years. Last week - for the 4th or 5th time in a week - we stopped in for food for dinner including a bag of frozen shrimp. We got back to the house to prepare dinner for friends and family and when we defrosted the shrimp they stunk, but despite this I tasted one to make sure. They were BAD! So we put shrimp back in bag, in freezer, with plan to return them. Yesterday we brought them back. The place was packed and my wife called a guy who looked like the manager to the side - rather than tell him in front of 15+ people - and told him the story. He snapped, 'That's impossible,' and proceeded to condescendingly explain to her the process by which this rotten shrimp goes from the nets to his display case. My wife explained that we had better things to do than to disrupt our dinner and make an extra trip back to tell him he sold us putrid shrimp. Then he weighed the bag against one of the other bags he had! Customer service at it's worst! He dismissively told one of the other people working there to 'give her her money back,' without the courtesy of looking at my wife. Amazing attitude to have in a business where these things happen. The Supremo sandwich with about a pound of prosciutto on each loaf, the arancini with the perfect amount of cheese, the side salads - yes even the health salad - the chicken wings, and the cookies for dessert. When I travel to the Jersey Shore, I don't know what I look forward to more: the beach or visiting Lasolas. I could easily hit Lasolas for all 3 meals: porkroll, egg, & cheese for breakfast, pizza or sub for lunch, and then order of one of their entrees for dinner. Having spent many summers in beach towns on Cape Cod, I wasn't expecting much from the local sandwich shop when I first went to Lasolas, but I was blown away. The quality of the product is great, from the Boars Head meats to the roast beef that they roast in store. The locally baked breads are the perfect vehicle to get the custom made sandwiches into my mouth. Lasolas has grown the past few years, but always for the better. They are truly a family owned business that is making the Shore better. read more
