It's a nice balance, helped immensely by the offer of hot chocolate or coffee and trashy gossip magazines for the shampoo and blow-out. My thumbs are way up for Tori Wadden, an experienced, funny, warm and honest stylist with sass to boot. She has 'straightened' me out many times as I considered going down a 'dead end' path of hair experimentation. She's also a great listener and confident - and gives an incredible scalp massage. One friend decided on classic French gel nails while the other decided on French gel nails with black tips, while I just wanted gel nails with some polish over it (as I have no nails). Although the lady who did our nails was really nice, the only one that turned out well was my friend who got the regular French gel nails. The one who got the gel nails with black tips didn't get any tips, it was just gel nails with some black polish on the tips of it, it didn't look very good. My nails were by far the worst though. They weren't flat for some reason, and if you look at my finger from a side angle they look like I have some french gel nail bubble. My cuticles weren't pushed back and my gel nails also weren't on my whole nail. It looked like I had like 3 weeks of nail grow out leaving the place. At the last minute after hearing they do eyelash extensions my friend decided to get those while me and my other friend got a pedicure. Our pedicure consisted of a woman cutting our toe nails and putting nail polish on them. She didn't file anything at all. My friend got eye lash extensions which looked fantastic when she left, but they all fell out within a few days. It came to like $70 which would be good if the end result was a nice looking manicure and pedicure. We all concluded a few days later that we wish we said something about how much we hated our nails but a) we were afraid to look like bitches and b) the ladies who did our nails were so nice. If you are AMAB and going here for laser facial hair removal, DONT. They are not knowledgeable in…read moretrans care. They use the same power laser and it is literally torture (if you are AFAB I'm sure it didn't hurt at all). I had two sessions, cried after both, and thought I would have to give up on this. The pain was so intense I can't overstate it. I do have coarse hair (and a lot of it) so maybe if you don't have much facial hair, but still. They are clearly tuned to the finer hair of AFAB, which is fine, but I had no idea this level of pain isn't normal. Go to a place that *has* electrolysis, but don't actually get electrolysis to start (one I switched to is Sunswirl in darmouth) they are much more medical and actually understand different hair types. Not only was the prep work more throughout (making sure it's shaved close enough, cleaned, etc) but the pain was actually tolerable. They will actually respond to how painful it is for you, and adjust. Oh ya, the price is also insane. The other place I'm at is *less* *without* any discount (less than dermaenvy's 50% discount for gender care) and they do also have some discount for gender care on packages of 3+
