I have been getting my lashes done for three years consistently. Moving to Newport from LA, I was concerned I would be able to find a salon that could do as good of a job as my former long time lash lady on the west coast. Upon entering the salon you will be welcomed and then sit down with the owner for a minute to look at the different lengths, types and curls of eyelashes. Then you will pick out your desired shape and will be shown pictures if needed. Then you are taken back to the application area which is simply a massage table. Take off your shoes lay down and get comfortable under a blanket, close your eyes and drift off for an hour of sleep while the jeyelash owner works her magic. Yes, the owner does the lashes herself! Once lashes are applied, you are handed a bottle of water and sprayed with a refreshing face spray for setting and hydration. The salon is quiet and very zen music plays overhead...think spa. All of the tools are opened in front of you, many minutes are spent prepping your own lashes and examining the last set of extensions to remove the ones that are too grown out. Each time I go for my fill I am blown away by what a great job is done and how relaxing the process is. I give Jeyelash 4 out of 5 ONLY BECAUSE of the price! I was not expecting to pay Beverly Hills lash extension prices here and I think many clients who might be open to trying extensions would be turned away from the cost of service.

I had made my appointment for a classic set but when I got there they told me that most people end up wishing they had gone with hybrid so I said alright, that's fine. Nobody offered to show me what the difference looks like, etc., but to be fair, I also didn't ask. My appointment was with Sydney. She was a little cold and made me feel silly for asking questions (though I'm sure it wasn't intentional). When we were done, she handed me a very broken mirror to look at my lashes. I was surprised and disappointed by the outcome. I told her they were really extreme compared to what I was looking for and she literally shrugged and shook her head. I asked if there was anything we could do to them to make them less huge and it was a definitive no. I asked if there was a way I'd be able to remove them later at home and again, definitive no. She said only they could remove them (which I've since found out isn't true at all). I wavered for a minute with if I wanted them to just remove them then or not and everyone just stared at me. Sydney made sure I understood I'd still have to pay for the lashes (obviously) but that her boss said they could remove them for free this time. I decided to keep them on so I could think about them and get opinions from other people. I was given no aftercare instructions or direction other than wiping them with micellar water. She said she'd give me a lash brush too but never did. Overall this was a really disappointing and frustrating experience. It's been only 4 days and the extensions are falling out left and right... not attached to real lashes that are naturally shedding... just clumps of fake lashes alone. The lashes all are drooping and in my line of vision. Is this normal? Well I have no idea because they didn't tell me. I wouldn't go out of my way to say "avoid this place" as I don't yet have another experience to compare it to, but I will not recommend them either.
