I cannot say enough about Larinda Ogawa, PA-C, and the exceptional care she provides at Cascade Eye…read more& Skin. Over the years, I have been treated by many medical professionals, and unfortunately healthcare can sometimes become so focused on the medical task at hand that the human element gets lost. Larinda is a remarkable exception. She is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and professional, yet she has never lost the human touch. She takes time to listen, connect, ask about your life, and make you feel that she genuinely cares about you as a person--not simply as a patient. As the current Deputy Mayor and former Mayor of Puyallup, I have spent many years working with and observing professionals from virtually every walk of life. You learn to recognize the difference between someone who is simply competent and someone whose character, compassion, and professionalism truly set them apart. Larinda is one of those rare people. There is no medical professional I trust more--not simply because of her medical knowledge, but because of her humanity. I am equally impressed by Larinda's commitment to mentoring the next generation. On many visits, I have seen her teaching a student or intern. It is encouraging to know these future medical professionals are learning not only medicine from her, but also what compassionate, patient-centered care should look like. I also want to recognize her assistant, Bailey, who is bright, personable, professional, and has tremendous potential. I understand she hopes to pursue PA-C training herself. To any program considering Bailey: take a serious look at her. She has an exceptional mentor in Larinda and the potential to carry that same combination of professionalism and humanity forward. Larinda represents what healthcare should be at its very best: excellent medical care from someone who has never forgotten the person behind the patient. Cascade Eye & Skin is fortunate to have both Larinda and Bailey. -- Dean Johnson Deputy Mayor & Former Mayor of Puyallup

I purchased a yearly membership at UP Wellness Spa, which allows me to choose one treatment each…read moremonth, including Glow2Facial and CoolPeel. I started with three CoolPeel treatments because I wanted to reduce some sun spots on my face. While the treatments didn't completely remove them, they definitely helped lighten the spots. My skin tends to develop sun spots easily, so I knew it might take more treatments to see the results I wanted. After trying CoolPeel, I decided to stick with the Glow2Facial, and I absolutely loved it! Mia did all of my Glow2Facial treatments, and she was wonderful! The treatment bed is warm and so comfortable that I kept falling asleep during my sessions. It's such a relaxing experience, and I love how fresh, hydrated, and glowing my skin looks afterward! What makes this spa truly special is the people. Delisha is absolutely wonderful! She genuinely cares about your concerns, listens carefully, and does her best to accommodate your needs and preferences. With Delisha, you don't feel like just another client. She makes you feel like family and takes care of you as if you were one of her own. That kind of personal attention is hard to find these days! The yearly membership is also a great value, especially considering how expensive these treatments can be when purchased individually. Overall, I've had such a positive experience at UP Wellness Spa. Between the relaxing treatments, the wonderful care from Delisha and Mia, and the great membership value, I highly recommend this spa to anyone looking to pamper themselves and take better care of their skin!

After years of slowly putting on weight, I finally said "No More!" My Physician recommended Rainier…read moreMedical Weightloss last June (2019). I walked through the doors at University Place at the end July, scared, anxious, emotional and truth be told....broken. The immediate support I received was amazing. I committed that day, and have not looked back. I have learned that everyone's Weightloss journey is unique. My 30+ weightloss number is another's 100+...or 20+. The emotions are the same, the struggle the same.....and the feeling of success the same when that scale drops. Dr. Sutherland and her staff from the PA's, Nutritionists, Trainers and Office Personnel work closely to provide an overall package uniquely designed to each patient. Being under a Physicians care while in my Weightloss phase helped keep my spirits up during the times I struggled, and the online app and Handbook gave my guidance when I had questions. I have entered Maintenance and realize this next phase comes with new challenges and will require a lifetime of focus and diligence. However with the amazing support from Rainier Medical Weightloss my husband, daughter, friends and co-workers, I am excited to face this New Year (2020)....healthier, happier and stronger! If you are considering a "New Direction"....start now. Pick up the phone, open that door and walk through. You are more of a Warrior that you think.

And in my opinion a more accurate representation of the disaster of a business you're considering engaging with. Overall experience was terrible. The consultation in general was simply an excuse to push processed, expensive packaged foods like shakes, bars, etc. instead of teaching clients how to eat real food in a sustainable way. I decided not to move forward with the program after meeting with the Dr. Weeks later I received an invoice that brings me to the disaster of their billing. Their "insurance experts" and front office completely miss the boat on accurately explaining the offices costs. When I walked in the gal attempted to charge me $95 (I later learned this was the full cost if I had no insurance, in hindsight I should have simply paid this). I told her I was quoted $45 by the billing team and wasn't interested in paying $95 for a consultation so if it was that vs. $45 cancel the appointment. She went to the back and came back out and said oh year $45. Ok. Two weeks later, after paying the $45 the day of the appointment, I received a bill for $92.88. Which by the way in hindsight NOT using insurance would have been better for me, wish their "insurance expert" had mentioned that when she ran my insurance and told me the cost for a consultaton would be $45. The billing company (they outsource it) was really nice to work with and apologetic explaining they've had high turn over at the medical office and have been having problems with clients not having expenses properly explained. Apparently I'm not the first to have this or a similar issue. They escalated my call back to Rainier Medical who came back and said the costs are listed on the website and I signed something when I showed up that said I'd pay whatever was billed so it was due. I paid the $92.88 (plus the original $45) and am wiping my hands of the experience but hope by sharing others will know to (a) avoid this place, the services aren't worth it and (b) if you do go don't trust the billing/front desk team to be helpful.

She really tailored my treatment, letting me know what she was doing and why at each step. I appreciate that. I get the sense that if you know exactly what you want, she can do that, too.
