In Carrizo Springs I don't think (and didn't) you expect to find anything super nice or fancy…read more That's just the nature of the town and the reason it's there in the first place. So when I came into town and checked-in here I was pleased to find it was nice, clean, comfortable and well done. My bed was comfy, the covers were nice and cozy. There was ample room in my hotel room. A nice desk, decent wi-fi, and a nice well lit open bathroom space. I didn't have issues with any bugs, loud noises, annoying neighbors, etc. The breakfast was okay, I eat gluten-free and usually can always get some eggs and a meat. While the eggs were there and good, a disappointing selection of meat in the morning for protein. Usually, there are several kinds of bacon/sausage, but here I only found scrambled eggs and cheese. It was still good, and it just meant I needed to supplement a bit more from my own supply of protein bars and things. A bit lack luster on the front desk service side, but nothing bad, just nothing worth mentioning.

This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I stayed here on a long term stay for…read morework and could not get my basic needs met. The customer service here is bare minimum and the hotel manager lives on the 4th floor with a dog. During my stay I repeatedly had to ask house keeping to please clean my room and they would regularly give an attitude and most days would not clean the room. During a 45 day stay, my room was cleaned 3 times. My bed sheets were only changed once. I asked for a new shower curtain because mine was molded at the bottom and received one with gum stuck to it. My towels were replaced several time with dirty/stained towels, and the hallways were always filthy (not vacuumed) and often smelled terrible due to the trash (see photos) left in the hallways for days at a time. I took several photos on a week by week basis to show the level of care that there is NOT at this hotel. There were several other coworkers of mine who experienced the exact same and countless times went to management to make requests for cleaning and other basic needs and were often made to come down and "pick up" what we needed or told they would take care of it but no action was ever taken. Do not stay at this hotel, your comfort is not their priority.

The two-bedroom King Suite is a great option, and I had already reserved a future date for our third stay after this. The shower in our suite was only running hot water. My husband went down to let them know and the only solution they had was to give us a key for a room on the other end of the hall to use that shower. This was extremely early in the morning as we were in town for a family function. My son wanted to shower, as did I, but I was not going to trek back and forth down the hall to do so. When I went to checkout in the morning the front desk girl was already aware of the problem. I told her we did not use the other room and she asked me "well, did you turn it all they way? Because if you turned it all the way it's going to be hot." She obviously knew we had an issue and couldn't have cared less. I explained that we tried everything to adjust the temperature to which she replied, "the maintenance guy is right there" pointing to the dining tables where he was eating food with his family. I'm not sure what she expected me to do with that information, but I chose to ignore the comment. At this point I don't know why I'm even trying to speak to her. I asked if there was a manager I could speak to and she said, "no, but you can try calling later." She then walked to the printer to get my receipt for our room. I asked her to please look up my future reservation and requested she cancel it. I wasn't expecting much, but an effort in customer service would have been appreciated. No one wants to pay full price on an upgraded hotel suite to have to leave their room to shower. The hotel may not be inclined to give any discount to rectify the issue, but they have lost a customer that planned on returning many times over.
