I won't spoil it by describing other than the grounds and cellars are worth the trip alone and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. They do tours in English, spanish and portuguese all at different times so pay attention to that when you sign up. Plan at least 3 hours for your visit. You'll probably want to stay longer than that. We found this place on trip advisor and we're a bit wary of it the $195/person was worth what we were getting. I was also nervous when I didn't get any confirmation from my deposit on PayPal. Our guide, Cristian, arrived at our hotel around 8am in a very nice bus and we proceeded to pick up the other guests at their hotels. On the way through the city, Cristian provided a "city tour" and tons of interesting information. This continued after we left Santiago and travelled through the countryside on the way to Casablanca valley. The wineries we went to were great (Loma Larga, Bodegas RE, and Morandé). We purchased wines at the first two! Note: LOma ships back home for free but Bodegas doesn't offer shipping) The lunch was four courses of delicious bread, poké, steak and risotto, and dessert with sparkling wine tasting! We left and we're back at our hotel by 5:30 in time to get ready for our evening plans! I would HIGHLY recommend this Uncorked tour, it is WELL worth it. Cristian is starting his own tour company on the coast in Valparaiso, "Coast of Poets" so he won't be touring any longer sadly.

We stayed at ViBo wine lodge at Viu Manent during our travel to Chile. We loved our stay here. The…read morelodges were super cute and comfy and the pool within the vineyard was super nice. The only downside was that the restaurant on site is not available for dinners so you need to plan ahead for dinners. The wines are Viu Manent was excellent and we did tasting there as well which was complimentary if you're staying in the lodge. We also had short tour of the winery which was conducted via the horse carriage which was super cool. We also rode horses within the vineyards which was super fun! We didn't have a rental car so they helped us find a driver for our stay there as we were wine tasting in other wineries close by. The staff at the wine lodge is amazing especially the reception who can be contacted via WhatsApp during the stay, there's also complimentary breakfast at the cafe which is a short walk and lunch at Rayuela which is the restaurant on site. I will definitely come back here again and stay longer!

Ok so I found this tour company through yahoo and couldn't find it on yelp. I wanted a private tour…read morebecause I feel like I can ask personal questions about the tour without being rushed. I choose the Santiago tour and winery first because I wanted to explore the and at the same drink some wine. Now here's what's cool my flight got delayed from Mexico city to Santiago and I had already booked w chili dream tours and was afraid I was going to loose my money. I emailed and called and the tour coordinator Sean easily made the adjustment and rescheduled us. Points for flexibility. So I arrive into Santiago and we begin the tour. Sean the tour guide pulls up in a large 7 passenger vehicle lots of space to relax. I was provided with a water and we went off into the city. Sean took us around the city of Santiago he's like walking Wikipedia this guy not only knew the history of the city he knew the city nightlife and gave great suggestions on where to go and what to eat. So back to the tour I saw all the major spots Santiago had to offer - San Cristobal hill the mountain w statue of virgin Mary. Amazing views and photo ops of the city its a must. We then saw the city center and where the president lives the whole té Sean filled us up with so much history info I kind of felt like he should be working for the history chanel because he knew his sh$*. From there we traveled to the undurraga winery great tour where you got an overview of the process and you get to see all the equipment on what it takes to make this great tasting wine. And of course you get to drink wine at the end! With such a good experience that day I immediately booked another tour w Sean for the day after. Now extra points for this tour company. My freind got sick hours before we were supposed to take the tour and Sean was like no problem and rescheduled it! Wow 2 for 2 on this company for keeping the customers needs in mind. We finally was able to do the vina del mar /valparaiso / Casas del Bosque winery tour. We were able to travel to the coast and see the beaches cool thing about Sean he will give you options depending on what you like he will take you to those parts in the city we choose the casino and had about 30 min to kill and gamble, next off was valparaiso I really loved this part of the tour Sean took us in and out of the streets to see all the art and history of the city we stopped to eat at a restaurant. Cade turri w a view of the city and that was amazing as well as the food Omg. Last stop was the winery Casas del Bosque very beautiful place looks like a location you can maary someone or take on a great date. So all in all chile dream tours picks great locations, Sean is a great host who speaks fluent English, Spanish and Portuguese. They will even do custom tours! Be sure to call and ask for Sean and ask as many questions as possible he will have an answer except for coquitas and strawberries but he says he's looking into it lol.

This is the second oldest winery in Chile founded in 1856. Used to be 1000 hectors large but now…read moreit's about 100 quite interesting thing is that it is located right in the middle of the city. Before arriving I thought I was lost because I could not understand how that would be a winery in the middle of the city, but it was, and it is really beautiful. The staff here was so sweet and I tasted some really really good wines at a fraction of the cost of those in California. I'm talking $10-$20 bottles that are absolutely fantastic. You will enjoy this place.

I enjoyed the wines here and getting to tour a winery that, unlike the ones in CA, wasn't built in…read morethe past 20-50 years. There's almost 150 years of history behind this place, and the facilities and wines show that. What made my visit even more enjoyable was doing it through La Biciclete Verde (https://labicicletaverde.com/tour/bike-wine-tour-cousino-macul-vineyard/), which pairs a tour of the winery with a bike tour of the vineyards, including a tasting under the trees and a tasting after the tour. Wines: I loved the Sauvignon Gris, which I'd never tried before. It tasted like a crisper and even less sweet Sauv. Blanc. I really enjoyed the Chardonnay, which is unusual for me. I found the Syrah to be very good. But my favorite was the Lota red blend, which I had an opportunity to try in their wine bar, and absolutely worth the ~$15 for a glass (the bottles retail for about $80). Facilities: With that 150 years of history, there are buildings here that have survived from day one, severe Chilean earthquakes notwithstanding. The wines aren't aged in the original cellars anymore due to a mold that's taken hold in them, but because of Chile's antiquities laws, all of the original fermentation vessels remain, as well as endless rows of barrels down in the dungeons. There's an impressive combination of the new (modern PLC-controlled stainless steel processing equipment) on grounds hosting some 80+ year old vines that are still watered by redirected streams from the Andes. The People: Our guide Adriane was very informative and gave the tour in a Spanish that I could completely understand (the Chilean dialect can be difficult to those of us so used to the Mexican variety). The wine bar staff were very helpful in answering additional questions, and of course, providing that lovely, decanted Lota red. Getting There: An easy 30 min Metro ride from greater central Santiago, followed by a ~$5 cab ride, which is even cheaper if you get off at the right stop. And for leaving, an employee was giving ~$1.50 rides back to the Metro in her Chrysler minivan.
