Spain is a FOOD MECCA! However, this girl can't eat spanish tapas for a week straight. I needed to…read morespace out all my paellas and octopuses with some burgers and ramen in between - so hello Bernie's. Bernie's is one of the better options located near the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona. But it really is only one of the better ones because a lot of other "American" establishments are bad. You really make due with what you have. Their milkshakes are good. Nice and creamy but not too heavy. I had the chocolate milkshake and was a fan. My GF had their strawberry cheesecake milkshake and it was good, but tasted more like just strawberry than strawberry cheesecake. T-bone steak tasted similar to a decent american diner and it hit the spot. Their ribs are absolutely horrible though. They were overcooked, dry, bland, and slathered in a bad BBQ sauce. Do come if you miss home, but don't come expecting an amazing meal.

We couldn't eat it. - The fries were as bland as fries can be. No seasoning, and like rubber. - The patatas bravas were literally just plain steak fries. Also no seasoning but most importantly no bravas sauce or aioli. - The banana milkshake was mostly milk. Vanilla wasn't bad. - Banana split was pretty good, but it's hard to mess up scoops of ice cream and toppings. The woman who took my order wasn't rude by any means, but she was cold and almost seemed bothered to be dealing with an American even though I spoke mostly in Spanish. If you're really desperate for American food in Barcelona, I guess you can find worse, but if you have time, I'd go elsewhere. For what it's worth, the atmosphere was cool. Good music and aesthetic. Place was clean.

Given how "alternative" it is, we're always surprised by the lack of Vegan-friendly eateries in…read moreSitges. We found this place completely by chance but thank goodness we did. It overlooks the promenade and seafront and has a range of veggie and Vegan options on the menu including a 'Vegan Burger with Chips' which is lovely. Next time we go back we'll try the 'Vegan Goan Curry' which looks great. They have soy milk too and were happy to Vegan-ise drinks that were on the menu e.g. they made us a soy café frappé. The do have 'Vegan Chai Latte' listed too. When we last ate at Red Velvet it coincided with the Sitges Tapas Festival. Every participating cafe and restaurant in the town had submitted one tapas dish which could be purchased for a limited period. Hats off to Red Velvet for submitting the only Vegan entry! Apparently they also have Vegan cakes in the Summer. A shame that they don't do them all year round! A great place for lunch (they only open in the evenings during the Summer season) and highly recommended. Fantastic, friendly service too

Four stars because the everything in the picture is right. The interior is fresh looking, if I'd…read moresay 'modern rustic' that would not be fair. It's modern with a dash of rustic. White and grisblue combined perfectly, the polished slate coloured concrete floor and the Eames chairs give the place a contemporary feel. The tables, counter and wooden balustrade add the 'rustic-ness'. It's very inviting. The restaurant has a small menu (which I think is how it's supposed to be) with vegetarian, gluten free and organic options. There are also dishes that change and are not on the menu. During our visit I've seen several orders for other guests pass by our table that caught my eye! The amuse bouche was very nice. Had one of the organic salads with red beetroot and as main course the chicken teriyaki. Both were very nice. Only thing for me was that the portion was a bit on the small size, partly probably because I didn't eat the rice due to my low carb diet. I was seriously considering having one of the dishes not on the menu: tower of grilled vegetables with a slice of goats cheese on top; it looked so nice every time it passed by our table (-: As a special treat I had a super nice chocolate chip cookie. The texture was just perfect! Extra nice as it was my only carb treat this month. Of course I will have to mention the special display with an assortment of cakes, cookies and cupcakes (also gluten free options). Very, very tempting! Espresso is 100% ecologically grown and the tea organic. All in all the diner experience was very nice. Not at all like most of the tourist oriented places a place like Sitges is obviously littered with. A nice place to relax and enjoy some responsible food!

Seriously, a couple of years ago the food was tasty and I have always liked my veggie burger. But this time I was very disappointed and I will not be back. The waitress (probably new, she was all nervous and clumsy), was not really friendly nor did she have a clue, what she sells. Eventually she served Coronita (Corona) without lime and with glasses!? Glasses??????? We ordered a veggie combo, which is kind of a starter, to share. On the menu they claim it is served with 2 different kind of dips. We were given a texas combo without the dips. Well, we could have asked for the dips, but it was not worth the trouble, I guess. The burgers came with chips (almost cold, not crispy at all) and a little salad, just tossed onto the plate. The burgers were not as they used to be and my partners was cardboard dry, even the tomato sauce could not rescue the dilemma. Overall I was so so shocked and keen to leave, as well: the awful smell which came out of the kitchen made me wanna have a shower. Finally, when we asked for the bill it took them about 20 minutes to pick up the credit card; we could easily have walked out without paying and without them even noticing..... Sorry Uncle Sam, I wont be back, maybe you used to sell the best burgers in Salou, but that is history.

Great place! Nice staff and nice proper food only thing is getting the bill is a bit slowread more
