    Birthday treat

I don't know how I have lived here so long without trying this gem! las Brazas is nestled in a strip mall south of Tallahassee headed to Woodville. The restaurant front is extremely unassuming and it is clear this place earns its business on word of mouth because it' doesn't have any flashy signs steering you in and I found very little in the way of an online presence. We arrived at 6:30 on a Tuesday night and several tables were filled but it wasn't packed. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman who gave us an option of seating. As soon as we were seated our drink orders were taken and they arrived quickly. We had already explored the menu and each of us had decided what we wanted. Our waitress was extremely pleasant, patient and helpful. Upon arrival of our food (which came pretty quickly) I can add accurate to that list! Every dish was delicious! Our party ordered beef tacos, chicken nachos and chicken/steak fajitas as well as a HUGE sizzling molcajete special!! They had 2/1 margaritas and beers. The margaritas are served in a tall beautiful glass. We were there celebrating a birthday and after our meal they brought out some fried ice cream with a huge sparkling flame shooting out a tube. Very impressive!! Over all- 5 out of 5! I can think of no complaints and we will be making up for lost time with a near future return!

I've ate here and I really liked it. The employees are very sweet as well. The strawberry Mimosa was my favorite. Would recommend :)

The order was prepared wrong. When we asked why it was wrong the woman employee acted like she couldn't understand English.

Food tastes like really bad microwaved nightmare. Service was good. There was some ambient light.

Good food and nice staff. However, for some reason they stopped serving draft beer. That's a deal breaker for sure!

The menus were tattered and many dishes reeked of "Mexican " food made for tourists. I asked lots of questions and had to switch to Spanish because the servers were not very conversant in English. All of their answers were vague. Finally, I settled on the mole enchiladas and a friend got a burrito. Let me tell you. That sauce is not mole, and the sauce for the burrito appears to have come from a can. For the high prices, there was not even the usual half-hearted sad sack plop of rice and beans to accompany the dishes. Then there was the service which was grudging and sullen. The place was clean, but smacked of a tourist's idea of what a Mexican restaurant interior should look like. The menu claims that they are the home of a "two draft beers for the price of one" deal. It's not a deal. It's the same price for the two as it is for a large glass. That's a sneaky gyp. The owners claim on the menu to be from Mexico serving authentic food. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. There is much better Mexican food in Tallahassee than this rot. The only saving grace was the flan which was actually pretty good.

Located at the corner of Thomasville Rd and East 7th Avenue at the convenience store near Midtown Caboose. We stopped by for a quick afternoon snack, and our tacos were absolutely stacked! We ordered one taco each, and they were loaded all the way up! The service was top notch and they offer cute little outdoor shaded picnic tables so you can save your vehicle upholstery from wearing your meal. Be sure to get them "con todo" with cheese, sour cream, cilantro, onion, street corn, and guacamole salsa. These tacos were a perfect balance of spicy heat and cool freshness. They make everything by scratch daily. ‼‼Holy Frijoles‼‼ it was definitely another praiseworthy food experience! Come Back Tacos... can I get an Amen?

Ordering is done through a tablet, which means simple customizations aren't an option. My friend wanted a cheese quesadilla, but the system forced us to order it with meat at the same price point, which was disappointing. The food took at least 30 minutes to come out, and when it did, my chicken tacos were overly salty and drenched in liquid/grease, making the flour tortilla soggy. My taco meal came with chips and salsa but the salsa appeared to be premade from a jar like Tostitos Chunky Salsa. While I'm glad I gave it a try and respect the effort, the inability to modify orders and the extended wait time make it hard to justify a return visit, especially if you're on lunchtime and have a time constraint.
