Came in with a large group of 9 people after doing a trail at Rainbow Springs. Ordered non-dairy option of cookies and cream for my little, regular cookies and cream, toasted coconut, superman, dreamsicle, and root beer floats galore. Everyone enjoyed their selection and service was quick and friendly. We were going to take our ice creams to go, but they had a nice sitting area that was kid friendly so we stayed in. Highly recommend!

These folks are absolutely amazing. Super nice - wonderful service - meticulously clean - the best quality and the value far surpasses anyplace else we have visited within 50 miles. We drive 20+ minutes to go there when there is a place 3 minutes away. I always get the rum raisin ice cream. Brings back memories of living in Germany and by far the best rum raisin ice cream wd have had in the US. We try to visit once a week or biweekly - we need to do all we can to support places like Larue's to keep them in our community. These mom and pop places are what makes this area so desireable. read more

I don't give out a lot of 5 stars, but LaRue's definitely deserves it. Great employees and great ice cream. So many flavors to choose from. We never come through Dunnellon and not stop. My go to is the German chocolate ice cream milk shake. read more

This ice cream shop is cute but I'm not sure why this place has five stars for the ice cream. I did not like the taste of my butter pecan. It didn't taste like butter pecan at all, and at 67, I've been even better on my entire life. I have sampled it all over the country. My husband at a chocolate concoction which he said had a good flavor, but we both agreed that the ice cream was greedy like it had been thawed and refrozen. Service was prompt and friendly. For the price paid, I am not returning. So for the sake of everyone else, I am giving this place to three. I'm not sure if we just chose the wrong items at the wrong time or what. read more

Everything and everyone were fabulous! They were so welcoming and gracious despite our party of 9 walking in one minute prior to closing. The ice cream was exceedingly diverse and everything we had was exceptional. We had people from NYC, DC and St. Pete and all of us agreed it was the best ice cream we'd ever had! We will be stopping back by anytime we drive within an hour of Dunnellin! Thank you for such a warm, happy memory within our vacation. You made our night. read more

This is by far the most complete ice cream shop in Dunellon. Every nice selection of scooped ice cream. They were very flexible making a Sunday to order, large scoops and plenty of toppings.Their location is in a strip mall which it their disadvantage I believe. Other locations listed on Yelp have either gone out of business or list ice cream as a secondary to their primary business. Next time you're there ask for the Harry Truman and see if they remember someone ordering that not that long ago. read more

Two lovely ladies and one handsome gentlemen worked very hard and pleasantly this evening to feed our crew of nine teenagers and two adults. We tried flavors ranging from banana pudding to brownie nut fudge to coconut and Superman. Everything was excellent, and the banana pudding was amazing! THIS is a good old fashioned ice cream parlour, so come hungry, the scoops are huge. Please come try them out! Warning, CASH only! But they do have an ATM. read more

Individual, unique tables paired with different chairs, so a guest wanting a hard chair can have one while another might like a more cushioned chair. Antique collars and purses hang from the ceiling. China teapots and cups decorate the shelves along the walls. Lace curtains hang in the windows. no canned music. Do you need a unique gift? There are various tissue holders - some shaped like birdhouses, others like a teapot for sale. or cushions, or soaps. As you wait for your food, wandering around or just looking around is a feast for the eyes. Hat racks full of hats and costumes adorn nooks and are for wearing to the afternoon teas. We have not done that yet, still enjoying the lunch visits. I would recommend making a reservation though. the tea room is not spacious, and we have seen walk ins turned away for lack of room. but for us, the highlight is the interaction with the owner. NOT for the snooty or stuffy customer. If you get offended when the owner jokes with you as he takes your order, PLEASE don't come here. Your attitude embarrasses us all. His demeanor is like that gruff old man who accepts that he has to repeat the specials, but who can't resist chiding you about it. All the staff is wonderful, but he stands out with his banter.
