Dive bar that has been around forever. Karaoke 7 days a week (according to a sign posted at the bar). Kat (or Cat) the KJ, did a great job of keeping the rotation going. I overheard Natalie, the barkeep, bragging about making the best Bloody Mary's, so I put her to the test and ordered one. It was tasty and had green salt on the rim. Sitting at the bar, the people on both sides introduced themselves to me, so I knew this was a friendly place. I hear the fried shrimp are pretty good, so I will have them next time I come by. DO NOT GO HERE!! I was sexually assaulted here about three weeks ago and when I brought it to the managers/bartenders attention she did not want to listen to ANYTHING I had to say because it apparently is one of her employees! She then told me to leave the bar, grabbed my drink from my hand tried to physically take me outside. Then one of the bouncers picked me up and threw me out. I called the police and filed 2 reports. I contacted the OWNER and she cited with the bartender, didn't ask me ANY questions about what happened to me or my side of the story she told me to "find another bar" THIS PLACE IS UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! Especially since there was absolutely no investigation from the owners. Pathetic, I would not recommend this place to ANYONE! read more

Good old Larry's. haha. Such a fun karaoke place! We went on the 4th of July and met some crazy characters there and had a total blast. Deep fried classics, stiff drinks and genuine neighborhood comradery is the heart of Larry's Restaurant & Lounge. Strangers mingling with strangers, people cheering on the underdog and a casual vibe that would make anyone feel at home. We spent several hours conversing with a couple that had met online and was having their first date. They invited us into their booth as if we had known them for years. To return the kindness, we cheered Bubba and his girl on for every song after that. haha. If you are looking for some karaoke with a lax atmosphere, then give Larry's a try. Kaitlyn is a great server!! I have been to Larry's many times and the couple times I've been and she's been working, she has been awesome. Very personable and friendly. Sherri is also a bartender there that I love. This is a place that does karaoke 7 days a week and we stop in when we for sure want to do karaoke. I agree with Kris that this place is a joke. It looks nice and has a great sound system but the area is NOT very good/safe. At times the Karaoke girl begs for tips and for the bartenders tips. Theyve also now began a 2 drink minimum to sing Karaoke, which no other place does. So I asked a guy for a drink and the bartender gets an attitude with me and tells me I cannot do that and calls it "soliciting" and says she has kicked out other women for asking for a drink. The karaoke guy was also rude and there were annoying drunk rednecks there. One of which kept poking me in the arm too hard and acted all entitled to continue doing it when I asked him to stop! I now see why theyre getting less and less busy on weeknights. Its also true about bigtime criminals hanging out here and theyre dumb enough to start talking while drunk. I used to sing at this bar back in the day when they had live music when everybody was smoking; I used to smoke a cigarette sometimes and drink coffee as I thought I might as well because it was so smoky; I enjoyed playing there and most of the time I had any problems; Larry was okay with me except he did run me out one night because I sang a gospel song; He told me to get my stuff and get out that they did not allow that kind of music to be played there. I packed up and never returned. I love all kinds of music in all genres but it was a little dark that he did that. DUDE. Duuuuuude. D u d e. 1. When I first moved to Nashville, some new "friends" (I had met through a friend back home) told me "Larry's is the place to go" in Nashville. I was like "are you insane?" All I could see was meth guys, clouds of smoke, tons of fried food, and pitchers of beer. My God. I moved from my small town to get away from that %$#, thank you very fuckly. This was the ONLY type of place these two women wanted to go- all nasty fried food super-dives, and only in Antioch. Larry's was their "Faaaaaavorite." Sweet Lord. I was like... "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not be one traveler, and follow both, long I stood... " AND GOT THE EFF away from chicks who only wanted to go Larry's every weekend. !!! Tough times. Tough times. 2. There are pics on the wall of Kelly Clarkson & Reba McEntire singing in this place (Kelly on several return occasions). What doesn't kill Kelly makes her stronger, haha, because this place is on FIRE with the smokey-de-chokey. When the door opens, the devil opens his mouth and thick, bilious clouds of smoke wend their way into the hell that already is Antioch. Good God. 3. The sound system is kind of nice, though. And the karaoke machine and people who run it are cool. 4. I actually saw a guy, dressed in cowboy boots, with long hair, and puffed bangs and a Bon Jovi tee, do "Wanted Dead or Alive," non-ironically, and very well. :O 5. My version of "The Love Boat" theme song received dumbfounded stares from the crowd, who were there to be discovered as big country stars & sing ballads. The Karaoke guy & I had fun duetting on it, though. It is so weird, this bar. If you want to freak out, go. But you'll only last an hour if you don't smoke. Also, guys will follow you out to the parking lot and tap on your car windows asking for your number or a date, etc, and also like to run after your car into the street. Beware of stranger-danger! Update: apparently, I've been called the "C-word" by reviewer LindzB for posting this review. Well, they don't call Larry's a dive for nothing, and I believe my description was accurate, even poetic ("bilious clouds of smoke"). You can talk smack about me all you like, LindzB, but I was trying to get out of being dragged into Larry's EVERY WEEKEND. I did what I had to do to save myself from lung cancer. There's nothing cunty about telling the truth; Larry's is a hellhole among dives. I like dives once in a while- but not lung cancer. The karaoke DJs are very nice. Extremely talented. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown, one of the waitresses hated us and made it apparent by ignoring us the entire night. We are extremely generous tippers and very polite people. I guess we simply weren't part of her crowd. Literally walked by us over half a dozen times and stopped to help everyone around but us. It's a fun place to go if you're into Karaoke. The waitress is super nice and very good at her job. She's fast and efficient. It's more of a relaxing adult bar though. Larry boy! Okay... so larry's is this little old karaoke bar with pictures of willie nelson and Merle haggard plastered everywhere...pretty cool right? Right. Beer selection here is next to none. I think a $3 Yuengling is the best they've got, which is fine for a place like this. I've been surprised to see this place packed every time I've been in. Doesn't matter what day of week. And, the people that come here to sing can actually sing! The bartender has always seemed like she's too busy for us or has something better to do. Our favorite karaoke, dive bar. Most of the karaoke hosts are fun, upbeat & endeavor to get everyone on stage to sing. We enjoy weeknights more than weekends. On Friday & Saturday, it's usually so crowded, you might only get up once to sing - long wait. This is one of those places that has a LOT of regulars - a very eclectic mix of people. I wasn't too impressed with the drinks I ordered, though they were decently priced. The bar is a cute little hole in the wall but I noticed the few times I've been there it's the same crowd each time. Now that's all well and good because they are friendly and they couldn't give a crap if you can sing or not, but damn I'd like some encouragement after a performance(good or bad). Unfortunate, good crowd atmosphere but horrible service and treatment. From this one time experience, this establishment does not appear to be interested in new business. Therefore, be informed that you may be asked to leave by security before your party can place their order because that server does not have time for new customers!! First time at Larry's, great atmosphere with down to earth crowd but horrible service. Server came over to the booth to take our order, I ordered an appetizer and water. My siblings ordered water. The server took my card for payment and returned to the booth with our waters. Upon returning, she informed us of the two drink minimum or one food order per person policy. She left to give us time to order. 10 minutes later, while waiting on the server to come back and get the order, security came to our booth and informed us that we had to leave if we did not comply with two drink minimum or one food order per person policy. We were taken aback due to the fact that we were still waiting on the server to return and take our order. We expressed to security that we were informed and willing to comply but still waiting on the server. Immediately after security left our booth, the server returned to take our order. I asked the server why security approached us about leaving before she returned to take our orders? The server's response was in her attitude. She re clarified the policy terms. My sister then told the server that the terms was not the issue and questioned the issue of security being sent over before returning to take the order. The server responded that she was busy and had no TIME to answer a bunch of questions. WOW, A SERVER THAT HAS NO TIME FOR CUSTOMERS WILLING TO PAY! After this response we decided to leave. Because my appetizer NEVER came, I just got my order refunded and spoke to whoever was in charge. I spoke with the head bartender who was partial to the server's explanation that we were taken too much of her time. The bartender excused the incident and told me, "that is how it is at Larry's". If you want to go to a bar that condones sexual harassment and unwanted touching, this is the place. I was visiting from Atlanta and decided to stop in here with a friend one night. To begin, the bartender (Afia) was extremely rude and didn't even acknowledge us for the first 10 minutes. We were approached by a male customer who began rubbing and touching us and refused to stop when we asked multiple times. We asked Afia for help and she seemed irritated, telling us that "we hadn't been raped" so it wasn't a big deal. We then asked a male employee (Justin) for help and he laughed and let us know that he wasn't going to do anything because the guy was a regular. Every time the man approached us, Afia would drop her head or try to seem occupied. After multiple pleas to remove the man from our presence, Afia decided to kick my friend and I out instead. She screamed at us to leave, saying all we wanted was free alcohol. She even pushed my money away and refused to take my tip, which she didn't even deserve but since I'm in the service industry I tried to do the right thing. This bar needs to put their employees through some type of sensitivity training or just hire new employees that have some sort of decency. Sad world we live in where two 21 year old girls can report unwanted touching from a man in his 40's and be forced to leave instead of getting help. Horrific and humiliating. read more
