Small hometown Pizza with a large family taste. Hey guys your visit to Topeka is not complete with a stop here. The staff is super friendly and have great suggestions. If you're a first timer here let them know do you get a special treat. We had several varieties of their pizza and got the minis which has a crisp outside crust and soft and chewy on the inside. Piled high with toppings. Now I do suggest if you're ordering the salad get the half to start out with. These are huge. We added some mozzarella sticks and none of us went home hungry. A friend and I were craving Pizza so we decided on LaRocca's. Our Server greeted us promptly after we sat ourselves. She was friendly and checked on us often throughout our visit. We started with the Cheesy Sticks which came out fresh and hot-it had lots of cheese on it and the marinara was delicious. We ordered a small combo pizza, it was hot fresh and delicious! Busy Friday night. Seat yourself and a server will bring menus to your table. We found a small table in the middle of all the action. The booths were a bit more off the busy path but full of patrons. We opted for two mini individual thin crust pizzas after conferring with our server. It was a great recommendation. I got a deluxe version and Husband had the meat lovers. Not wanting a huge meal, nor leftovers, it was just the right amount of food. My cab was a hearty pour. Pizza was hot and delicious. Service was efficient and helpful. Great experience. read more

Laroccas has been our family fave for years. New owners did not impact that. The food is still great! Meatballs are my favorite & the best around! Pizza crust is so good - especially enjoy the cauliflower crust. The Mexican style pizza is just terrific, I have to give up my pepperoni occasionally! And we like dining in, ordering at the table. When you walk in- it reminds you of going to Pizza Hut or Happy Joes as a kid (in the 70s ) when pizza places were an experience! The smell is the best! read more

We called ahead and told them we would be bringing a group (15 people) and they set up tables for us. When we ordered two of the orders were wrong, people who ordered sandwiches did NOT get the chips which were included on the menu and we had to wave down the waiter to get refills. Then when we got our tickets we had a 25% charge for "large party".....which had never been mentioned before. The owner told us we "should have been told", but we weren't.......their mistake, not ours. No apology, nothing. I have to say we are good "tippers", but it bothered us to be TOLD what we were doing. Food was brought out cold. Sent food back it came back cold again. Pasta was supposed to have meat in it. Only a few pieces. They brought out a couple more pieces of meat in a tiny cup. Again the pasta wasn't warm after microwaviing it. Lasagna had a sliver of meat on one layer. And the lasagna was small. Spoke with server. No management around. Look it's a lot of money to have this many problems. I would think all tables would get bread . But that's not reality. First time we visited years ago it was good. There was a period of time after Vince LaRocca retired that this pizza joint lost some of its loyal customers. We've been coming here for years - sometimes it is good and sometimes not so much. This week we stopped in on a Thursday night and it was DELISH. Kind of back to its original glory. We ordered the large Deluxe Pizza with two side salads. Everything was "just like it used to be." We asked our waitress if there were new owners, but she said the current proprietor has had it for two years. The wait staff never stop for a break, it was busy and we left happy. Was it the best pizza ever? No but for it being in Topeka it was pretty damn good. It was an average looking pizza joint but the waitress that served me and my husband was nice and both the pizzas we ordered were delicious and fresh. I didn't have much expectation coming here but left pleasantly surprised. Will come back again in the near future to try more menu items. read more

We were in Topeka and decided we wanted to do pizza for an early supper. I was driving, so I just told the GPS "Pizza" and we were going to go to the first pizza place that wasn't a chain. We did. That place ended up being take out only and we didn't want to eat in the car. We spun the Wheel of GPS Destiny again and it took us to a place that... looked more like a stripclub. Maybe it would have been great, but there were no cars there and just didn't look inviting. We tried again and when we pulled in the parking lot, we were pretty sure we it was our third strike. It looked more like a bar and just exactly what we were hoping for. We decided to look up some info online before going in and saw the pics for other reviews and decided it was worth a chance. We saw some people coming out with take out and decided we could always leave if we didn't like what we saw. Once you get inside, the place is nice. It's not fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. We had a friendly greeting and decided to get a large combo pizza (thin crust) to share. It took about 10 minutes I'd guess, which is about right. By then, the mostly-empty restaurant was starting to fill up so we were glad we beat the rush. We LOVED the pizza. There was a good amount of toppings and cheese, the crust was great and not too saucy. We were so happy that we took the chance. You can't always judge a book by its cover or a pizza place by its exterior. read more

The great Yelp reviews made us stop in and try LaRoccas. Overall, the food was good but the service really lacked. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks and 20 to get our cheese sticks appetizer. The little guy had the kids cheese pizza, I had a ham and pineapple calzone and the hubs ordered the penne all's vodka with Italian sausage. He never received his salad and we had to ask for it after his entree arrived. We watched a waitress deliver the wrong order to 3 different tables and because of COVID, the kitchen had to remake the orders, so those poor customers had to wait extra long for their dinner. read more

The Pizza was Great, this place reminded me of small local pie shop where I grew up. LaRocca's was clean , staff was very friendly, the smell of pizza fills the air when you walk in, the pizza was delicious, not burnt on the bottom, a perfect crunch when you take a bite but not so crunchy it cuts the roof of your mouth, perfect amount of sauce and not over oily . LaRocca's is my family's go-to pizza place in town. It is reliably filling and flavorful. I cannot speak to the absolute rankings of pizza in Topeka, but even without the ability to make strong comparisons, I have to believe that this place is near the top. I would suggest sticking with the pizza though -- the garlic knots/bread have always left me wanting something more (more flavorful and with more texture) -- they are basically buns with some garlic butter and sprinkled parmesan cheese on them. read more

I was in Topeka on business and I am a pizza freak so in my 5 days in town I ate pizza 4 times (not even close to my record). I travel quite a bit and eat a lot of pizza and this was the best pizza I have had in a couple of months. I got a small (not mini) pepperoni. It was delicious. Lots of delicious cheese, the sauce was very tasty and the crust great. Not crunchy but I can forgive because the taste was great. The servers were friendly and attentive. I wish they had a bar but oh well. I will be back, probably more than once the next time I am in Topeka. read more

We ordered the Penne Alla Vodka with Italian Sausage. The pasta was over cooked and no taste. It may have if the sauce wasn't so watery and flavorless. The sausage which was obviously added at the last minute and was chopped up indiscriminately. My guess is that it was all prepared and microwaved. Also, when we received our food we asked about A gas leak oder and they told us that they had reported it and gas service was coming to check it out. We ate some of our food and decided to get out of there. They didn't tell customers or shut down the kitchen. We will never go back. Gross and inconsiderate of safety. read more

I purchased a calzone here and was quite disappointed. I give the taste a 4 (their marinara is one of my favorites). These are some nice folks trying to run a family place. It is very clean and everyone is very polite. However, this was about my third visit over the past few years (once at their prior location) and I just have to honestly say this is just mediocre pizza. Not much better than chain stuff. The saving grace is they have pretty nice house made fresh garlic rolls. Tonight I tried a "Chicago Style" Italian Beef sandwich. Admittedly, my standard for Italian Beef is quite high, but this was probably the worst I've ever had. Dry beef on open face bun with tiny bell pepper and onion.
