Communication about scheduling was easy and the price was good. My 2 girls had very different levels of skill in riding and Wayne was able to assess which horses would suit their personalities. In addition, he taught them a few tips about horseback riding even though we were only requesting a trail ride. The tack room was impeccably organized. The humidity of Bloomington made the shaded trail rides both refreshing and invigorating for the girls. Each morning they rushed towards the barn for their ride and after each outing they came back happy, looking forward to playing with the old and young dogs who room to round the barn. Elk Ridge Ranch offers so many activities: Axe throwing, skeet shooting, golf, gym, the brick pizza oven in the pizza barn, and so much more. They even added our meat to their smoker so we could enjoy a delicious dinner. They were hosting a bachelor party and wedding, and still found time to make us feel at home as welcomed guests. We had plenty of opportunities to socialize and to still have quiet time to ourselves. We loved walking around the ranch, and our quiet nights around the fire. Elk Ridge Ranch is out in the peaceful quiet of the country, but very near several surrounding charming towns. French Lick is a convenient short drive away, along with adjoining West Baden Springs. Both are such cute towns. I highly recommend spending at least a day or two exploring that area. We enjoyed our stay so much, we are already discussing when we can go back! Their accommodations are very reasonably priced. We hope to bring our parents back to stay in their charming little cabin overlooking the ranch.

The previous visit, the food was good and priced well. The staff accommodated 50 of us with no problem. As the property is adjacent to the marina, access is easy. There is an indoor pool as well. There are restaurants off site close by (I recommend the golf course). I would definitely recommend a lakeside room for a great view.
